With his room completely trashed, Deryk needed a place to stay. Unfortunately, he couldn't really find an available room. For the people he was familiar with, they were either out of a room as well or already bunking with someone else. It kind of sucked in a way. The bunkers were trashed now too, which left him with just one option. Well. One option as far as he was concerned. This was the dorm commons. It had couches after all. Just as long as people checked before they sat down, it shouldn't be an issue. At least he hoped this much. After a day's worth of work, he went on to crash at his temporary home. Well. At least he hoped it'd be temporary. The dorms were bound to be fixed eventually... right? With a blanket at hand, he laid himself down onto the couch and pulled the covers over himself. Time to sleep.

He had come back to the dorms, not to kick Otto out of his old room (though it was highly tempting - especially the kicking part of that idea), but instead to look for Bix. However, the albino was nowhere to be seen, and Gale found himself wandering down the hallway towards the common room, sliding his hands into the pockets of his dark slacks. He felt odd, being back here after moving out, but there was the small feeling of nostalgia still lingering.
Maybe Bix would be in the common room - which he wasn't. But he did find someone else.
...or rather, something else, since all Gale could see was a lump from his point of view. Tilting his head a little, he walked around the side of the couch, peering down at the figure curled on the cushions.
"...Deryk? Is that you?"

One of the main issues of sleeping in the common room was that people tended to pass through it. Good thing Deryk could be a heavy sleeper once he fell asleep. It was a matter of reaching that point. He was almost there when he heard someone talking to him. Well, he was kind of aware of it. "No sir. Jussa snowman.." he murmured. Though, soon after he said that, his eyes fluttered open and he became a little more aware of his surroundings. "Huhwuh?" he blinked, soon realizing that Gale was staring down at him. "Oh uh. Hi Gale. Er... did.. you need the couch?"

"A...what..." said Gale, momentarily confused. His face blank, he wondered whether or not he should just walk away and leave him be, since the other was clearly sleeping, but then Deryk blinked further awake, clarity sliding over his face.
"Ah," said Gale, and shook his head a little, blonde hair slipping over his forehead. "No, I ah...was just looking for Bix, but..."
He trailed off a bit, tilting his head as his brows drew together in mild bemusement. "...why are you sleeping on the couch?"

Becoming more coherent now, Deryk pushed himself up into a sitting position and turned towards Gale with a rather sheepish smile. "Oh. This? Aaah.. well. Room's completely trashed. Bunker too. So... went with next best thing," he said. Especially since his friends either already had roommates or were out of a room themselves. "Just kinda temporary. Till rooms are fixed. You know?"

"Ah," said Gale, and nodded a little, idly rocking back on his heels. "Sorry to hear that, mate, that blows."
There was a momentary pause as he pushed away a few comments Jinhai was making in his head and then slanted a gaze back down at Deryk, tilting his head thoughtfully to the side.
"You know, if you need a place to stay, you can always stay at my place," he said, lifting one shoulder in a half sort of shrug. "I think Wilson and Eva are also gonna crash there a few days until things are sorted out, but you're welcome to come stay if you're just gonna be couching it up here."
He shrugged again, his cheeks a faint, barely visible pink. "I mean, if you don't want to, that's cool too, but I figure it would be better than sleeping where people might sit on you accidentally."

"Yeah. Not much that could be done about it though."At Gale's offer, Deryk smiled a bit. "Be kinda crowded with four people in the room wouldn't it?" he asked. It was nice, but their dorm rooms weren't really that big. Most likely someone would have to sleep on the floor or something with that sort of arrangement.

Gale gave what might have actually been a smile, the corners of his lips quirking upwards just a little bit.
"It would, yeah," he agreed, and looked around a bit, finding a seat on the edge of the coffee table and crossing one leg over the other, hands still slipped inside of his pockets. "But we wouldn't all be in the same room. I think Eva would take the spare bedroom, but I have a couch and a loveseat. They're, er...a bit beaten up, I'm afraid, but I think they're still relatively comfortable...I think."

That had actually confused Deryk a bit. Wait. Something wasn't quite adding up here. "Spare bedroom? You... aren't talking about a dorm room are you?" he asked while staring at his fellow Death hunter. Either that or one of Gale's walls had been blown open to go into an empty room. Though, he was fairly certain that he had someone on either side of him..

Gale blanked for a moment. Then he said, feeling somewhat stupid, "Oh. Er. No, sorry."
Reaching a hand up, he rubbed at the back of his neck. "I, er...don't live in the dorms anymore. I live in a small - very small - house in town. It's number 112, but that's mostly because it didn't actually come with a number when I moved in, so I just sorta...made up my own."

That made a lot more sense. Though, Deryk was fairly impressed with the idea. It hadn't quite occurred to him that they may eventually grab themselves their own little house. "Oh wow. Still gotta be pretty nice. Uh. Well. If.. if you don't mind having another spending some time there. Least til the dorms get fixed up."

"Ah, yeah," said Gale, and smiled a little, slightly embarrassed. "You're able to get a house once you're done being a trainee, which is pretty nice. A bit different, I suppose, and I'm not used to the silence sometimes, but at the same time, it's pretty nice. Don't have to worry about people banging on your door in the morning."
Idly, he twisted the ring on his left index finger and shook his head. "It doesn't matter to me; I've got the space, and you need a place to sleep. Honestly, it's actually kinda nice having people over."

Deryk laughed a bit at that, then smiled to the younger hunter. "Yeah sure thing. Don't got much stuff anymore anyway so shouldn't take up too much room."Most of his things were scrap now. He basically just had a few sets of clothing and one of the game of thrones books. Everything else had been in his room during the time they were stuck in the bunkers. Granted, he had to wonder just how the hell the bunkers were destroyed. It wasn't like the insanity creatures had gotten down there. Hm.
