How Amphi managed to get lost in the school was a mystery, how she continued to get lost in the woods, even bigger of a mystery. Hell she was getting lost just thinking of how she was getting lost.
"Um...." Was all she could think as she stared at the unfamiliar walls of the school, even looking outside there was nothing she could landmark. And no room numbers.
She was literally....lost.
Panicking she could only think of one thing to do, and the one person that saved her last time. She called Roch.Phone Call to Roch ..ring...ring.....click. "Roch?"

There was silence on the other end of the line. Only the sound of harsh breathing showed that it had been answered. The punk boil was covered in sweat, staring at the remains of the cactus he'd been beating on as he tried to think.
He knew that voice. Why had he even answered? For a moment the punk thought about hanging up--going back to his mass destruction of the land, but then he stopped himself. Unlike the two jackers that had drove off to get supplies, Amphi didn't know anything about this.
"What?" he asked finally, quietly. His breathing was harder than his question. There were gouges in the ground and even one of the rocks, all around him. He'd really gone to town, he thought with dry amusement tinged with bitterness.

Amphi cringed at the sound of breathing on the other end...
"Hello? Oh Roch, I'm so glad you picked up! I got Lost again-" She blinked as she heard Roch voice, and from one brief word, felt uneasy..."Are you alright Roch?"

"Amphi... I'm... sorta not there to save you," Roch said, his breathing starting to calm. "I want you to call--no, not Nahm... um... not Danny, either... call Mot. He can come find you." His voice seemed harsh and slightly wrong, as if his throat was raw. "His number is--"

"No no! That's okay, I will just find my way out of here! I won't bother a stranger!" She hesitated, "But...If you don't mind talking to me until I go back....I haven't seen you around....since the Trance field trip....." She hesitated again, Her voice soft but encouraging, "Are....you feeling alright Roch?"

The silence stretched for a long moment and Roch contemplated hanging up rather than answering that. But--"I'm not okay," he said. "I'm definitely not okay." He was staring at the "bleeding" remains of the cactus he'd just killed, wondering if perhaps it was better that he stay out here where only guys that could kick his a** were. "They killed him," he whispered. "Or they turned him into one of those..."
He wished he was positive that his uncle wasn't out there, somewhere, shooting his own kind.

She almost feared that he'd hang up on her...or worst the call dropped for where ever he was. Her face fell though as she heard him.
"Roch..." She blinked and realized that "him" that Roch must've spoke of was one of the students they saw from the Trance. Maybe one in the specific group....she had after all seen through Arcana's eyes. Through Arcana's heart.
"They killed....." Her brain searched through the people that ARCANA had known. Tarot, Selene, Moira, Norvie, May...Tex? Oh jack..."Roch....Tex? Was....Was he the one you saw through?" She blinked. She didn't want to over reach anything, her heart broke for him though, she briefly remember the slow drawl and easy comfort that was Tex and May. Even Arcana had trusted them more than he had any of the other students..... "......He....Who was he to you Roch?"

"Dallas... Texas... Scythe," Roch breathed out, his teeth gritting as he recited the name. "He was my uncle. They never told me--" He took a deep breath, a shuddering breath. "Who were you?" he asked, trying to change the subject.

"I....I am so sorry Roch...." Amphi's voice broke for him, For the uncle he never got to know. It wasn't like she could understand, she had all her sisters. And they were safe in the sea. Safe away from the horrors of Amityville.
She was quiet on the other end, "Your uncle was a nice man though...Sincere....Honest too..." She blinked at the change of subject, sure that Roch didn't want to share more. Her voice didn't betray her empathic feelings though. Amphi was always one for being straight with her feelings. "I was Arcana....the Reaper. He was shy....and quiet....and not very strong....Kinda of like myself." She laughed, "He was friends with Tex and his May.......He died....too. After being caught by a net....Or I assume that's what happen....The trance broke before I could see anything more......He died...after just confessing his love..." She took a deep breath...
"I am sorry Roch....So sorry you found him, lived him without even knowing him...."

"Yeah," he said quietly. "It's..." He ran a hand over his face. "I'm not gonna be back for a while. I need... I need to get my head on straight." And stop murdering innocent plants, he added silently. "Amphi... I don't want to talk... but if you gotta stay on the phone... can you sing for me?"
He felt like a child. This entire thing had left him, a hob, feeling like a little boil lost at sea... or in the desert.

"I understand....I'll...Wait for you to come back then..." Amphi blinked before flushing on the otherside of the phone. There was...no one around after all and she just needed to sing to him. She got this....
"Okay...Let me...." She started to hum, her voice quiet and soft.
A melody to soothe:

Another hum of the melody, her voice strong as she continued to walk in sing...

She faded away, a small amount of tears forming. Not just for Roch and Tex....But for Arcana and the students lost.

He was crying again. He was sitting there, like a pathetic child in the middle of the desert, all alone except for a phone and a guitar, and silent tears were falling down his cheeks. "I miss him," he whispered raggedly. "I didn't even know him, and I miss him."

She too sat down, resting against the wall and cradling the phone. Tears fell in big plops on her thigh before sniffling. She cried because they lost so much, she cried for Roch who had lost family he never got to know....for the heart break she knew he felt.
"I think....I think...." She sniffed, "It's okay to miss him Roch. But your wrong. You got to know him and....AS long as you know him, then he lives on in your memory so...so..." She blinked and sniffed again, "So when you come back...we can sing a song together for Tex...and Arcana, and all those people we lost without ever knowing...."

"Did he... did he remind you of me?" he asked her. His father had said that he reminded him of Tex, but Amphi knew Roch before she knew Tex. The guitar... the way he moved... all of those things were similar to him, he knew. But did Amphi know him well enough to have picked up on that?
Was he just imagining the similarities? WANTING to be like the big teenager that he'd spent the trance inside?

Amphi picked herself up, continuing to head back to her dorm. Slowly since she started talking to Roch, she had been able to find her way back. She stopped at his question, trouble clear on her face.
"If...Yes..." She smiled sadly, "He was...warm...and nice...and he cared so much for that ghoul May. And he sang with easy comfort and he....he was strong. He had a strong spirit Roch." She thought that was important, "Even his weapon was similar to yours." She breathed in....
"I felt that same wanting of getting to know him....like the same wanting of getting to know you. Does that make sense?" She looked down, "but I am probably not the best to ask. I was so caught up, so stuck in Arcana's self doubt that I barely noticed everyone he interacted with....." She looked from the phone..."Does it help you to think that you are like your uncle? That maybe...unknowingly...you carry him inside you?"
