A Literate Elder Scrolls V role-play by Jaydine

Skyrim is a land equal in its beauty and its harshness. The death of High King Torygg was not even the beginning of the problems that plague Skyrim's populace, for the Great War between the Empire and the Aldmeri Dominion was really not so long ago. However, Torygg's demise, or murder as some would call it, did serve a purpose in igniting the flames of civil war within Skyrim. The land is divided, and swords have been taken up in support of one cause or the other.

The Imperial Legion stands for Jarl Elisif the Fair of Solitude, widow of the High King.
Led by General Tullius, the ultimate goal of the Empire is to calm the civil war and reunite Skyrim under Elisif.


The Stormcloak Rebellion supports Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak of Windhelm. They desire a Skyrim liberated from the Empire,
and maintain that Skyrim will be for the Nords when Ulfric is made High King.


Amidst the confusion and atrocities of the civil war is the terror sewn by the return of the dragons, who ravage the land without discrimination...
And elsewhere, hidden behind the chaos that has befallen Skyrim, a sinister plot is about to unfold.


It is a time of upheaval, and of change. And somewhere within Skyrim, a group of people have gathered. They come from within Skyrim and without, and from all walks of life. What impact they will have on the civil war, on Skyrim, and on Tamriel as a whole, remains to be seen. For now, each for reasons all their own, they have come to be at the same place at the same time. Two groups have traveled far into the wilderness, all with the same intent--to investigate the possibility of a secret Thalmor fortress hidden away from the eye of the Empire and the Stormcloaks.

* Follow all GaiaOnline TOS.
* Make sure to use (( )) / [[ ]] for OOC chat, but keep that to a minimum please.
* Cursing is allowed, but keep it to a minimum.
* No God-moding or killing others without expressed permission.
* Post-styles are not needed, but feel free to make pretty posts if you wish.
* Role Player preference is Literate. Two-Three paragraphs minimum please.
* Romance is allowed, but nothing too inappropriate.
* Only TES race are to be used.
* Try not to be too vague in your posts.
* Max of one character per player for the time being.
* Required posting is once every week, desired posting is at least twice a week, with no more than two posts per day.

Completed character profiles can be posted to the Cast Profiles thread, and will be approved by a staff member.
Once the character is approved, they can be played!

If you want in-game images of your character, please PM Sithorn with your request!

To reserve a role, PM Jaydine a writing sample.
Once a role is reserved, it is no longer available unless the player does not complete the profile.

so long as all the information is present and you keep the categories bolded.

General Information
Full Name: Please be creative. No "Shadows" or "Raven Darkfires", please.
Nicknames:
Race: All Skyrim races: Altmer, Argonian, Bosmer, Breton, Dunmer, Imperial, Khajit, Orc, and Redguard.
Age: Preferably late teens/young adults and older, nobody too young.
Gender: Y'know this one!
Orientation: Heterosexual, bisexual, homosexual, asexual, etc.
Religion: Who or what does your character worship? The Eight [or the Nine], a Daedra, nothing at all?
Civil War Allegiance: Imperial Legion, Stormcloaks, or neither?
Other Allegiances: One other allegiance is allowed for every character, such as the Companions, College of Winterhold, Riften Thieves Guild, the Forsworn, Dark Brotherhood, etc.--this is partially determined by your role within the RP.

Appearance: A somewhat detailed description. Pictures highly desired. No anime, please.

Personality: What your character acts like. Please include likes and dislikes in here.

Class: No, Skyrim doesn't have classes... but you can make one up for your character!
Racial Ability:
Health: See below.
Stamina: See below.
Magicka: See below.
Skills: Pick six Skills. You will have one Expert, four Adept and one Apprentice skills. These all represent the things your character is specifically good at and has spent time working on, plus one Skill they're still learning about. In regards to Alchemy, Enchanting and Smithing, there will be opportunities to use these Skills if you take them!
EXAMPLE: Archery [Expert], Light Armour [Adept], Sneak [Adept], One-Handed [Adept], Lockpicking [Adept], Illusion [Apprentice].

Health, Stamina and Magicka all start at 150 for everyone. You have an additional 200 you can put into any of them, to a maximum of 300. These numbers are used to represent the characters prowess, and act as reminders to their strengths and their limits when casting spells, taking blows or performing strenous activities like running and fighting.


Possessions
Weapons: Maximum three starting out. See below for more details.
Worn: 1 suit of armour [or robes], and 1 spare outfit each [clothes]. See below for more details.
Carried: Everyone gets a backpack or bag and will have basic wilderness survival supplies if they want. [Torches, a simple tent, tinderbox, blanket, travel rations, waterskin, basic cooking gear, that sort of thing.] Otherwise, this section could include potions, scrolls, etc. See below for more details.
Spells: The name of the spells your character knows. See below for more details.

If there is any gear you are interested in that is not listed here, you may request it, but these items you may automatically take without needing to ask.
[Forsworn equipment is only permitted if it suits your characters background to have it.]

The following weapons are available:
Iron, Steel, Silver, Elven and Dwarven weapons of all types.
Hunting Bows, Imperial Bows, Dwarven Bows, and Elven Bows.
Iron, Steel, Dwarven and Elven arrows.
You may request a specific staff if you would like one!

The following shields are available:

The following armour sets are available:
Note: Each set comes with all the pieces if desired--torso, gauntlets, boots & helmet/hood;
You may also mix & match individual pieces of sets if you desire.

[Light Armour] Hide Armour, Fur Armour, Studded Armour, Leather Armour, Scaled Armour, Elven Armour.

The following faction armour sets are available to those in the faction:

The following spells are available, without special permission:
Here's a list of spells. You will need lesser forms of spells to take the improved forms, eg, Lesser Ward is a prerequisite for Steadfast Ward.
Expert-rank spell Skills may have 7 spells total of that type.
Adept-rank spell Skills may have 5 spells total of that type.
Apprentice-rank spell Skills may have 3 spells total of that type.
EXAMPLE: Destruction is at Expert rank. [Expert] Wall of Flames, Incinerate | [Adept] Flame Cloak, Fireball | [Apprentice] Fire Rune, Fire Bolt
[Novice] Flames. Total Amount of Destruction Spells: 7.

The following misc items are available, without special permission:
Minor to Plentiful Health, Stamina and Magicka Potions [limit 3 of each].
Cure Disease Potion [limit 1].
Cure Poison Potion [limit 1].
Weak to Potent Poisons [limit 3].
Weakness to Fire, Frost, Shock, Poison & Magicka Poisons [limit 2 total].
Resist Fire, Frost, Shock, Poison and Magicka Potions [limit 2 total].
Brief Invisibility Potion [limit 1].
Brief Waterbreathing Potion [limit 1].

Would you like an enchantment?
If you desire to have a custom enchanted piece of equipment [maximum 3], you may submit your idea for approval. As long as you keep it simple and in our power range [think level 20-25], it'll likely be good to go... but bear in mind that if you choose something that comes automatically enchanted [thieves armour, DBH armour, mages robes] you may be limited to 1 or 2 custom piece of equipment depending on the strengths of the enchantments.

June 12: Abraxia posted the main thread, as well as an OOC thread & profile thread.
Profiles can now officially be started for anyone with a reserved role, and can be posted to the profile thread for review & approval!
Once we have approved roles, we can begin to play!
