Xun kept her head down as she wandered through mangrove swamps and deep jungle. Since the dissolve of the demon hunters, she'd felt really rather lost. She couldn't go on trying to purge the savannah of their filth. She'd wandered and put space between herself and the place she grew up. Xun had heard of another pride, the Antianeira? She knew she had family there, and while she had not asked or told any of her sisters from the Demon Hunters that she was going, she had hopes that she would meet them again there.
If she did, it seemed like it would be very soon. By asking rogues she'd met along the way, they'd pointed her in this direction. But- all of them were rogues. If only she could meet a pride member... Have some confirmation and find out what it took to be accepted to the Antianeira, whatever kind of pride it was.

Her rehearsed daily routine now complete, Umeme walked around the borders with a gruff look on her face. Obviously she wasn't very happy, but just as she preferred no one in the pride would dare ask her what. Not the anything really was wrong, other than it being the end of her rounds. She could now return home, to her empty den and relax. She hated relaxing more than anything else, she wanted to be on the hunt. Protecting her pride from dirty males, or would be attackers. She wanted to work. She couldn't help but laugh at herself at the thought. Most lionesses around here wanted to get their jobs done and go on with whatever was occupying her time, but her? She was all about the work, without her their Queens and heirs would be in constant danger! She was their lifeline, and she took that role more importantly than she should.
Frown still present, Umeme turned towards home not really into the idea of going back. But not entirely sure what else she could do. The borders had been patrolled, her secret traps set. Everything she could do, was done, now all it was all up to the regular guards. She sneered at the thought but couldn't really downmouth them, they were the second line of defense.
Just as she was about to place one paw towards home, something strange whiffed right past her nose. A scent, not a pride member, but a female. Immediately her senses went into overdrive. While this female could simple be lost or trying to find a place to rest - she could also be a danger. Without hesitation, Umeme darted off after the scent, leaving a silent trail behind her. Only the most skilled of noses would be able to detect her now.
Xun stopped dead in her tracks. Had she heard something? Her head whipped around her and the rest of her body shortly followed. The prospect of being followed in unfamiliar territory gave her the same sort of fear that demons used to when she was small (and, well, also when she was not-so-small...) Her ears went flat against her head and she curled her upper lip up into a snarl. Most of her brain was saying it was nothing, or at most a small animal not worth fretting over.
But a little part of her was saying otherwise, and that part was strong. It reasoned that it wasn't impractical to act scary when nervous. Instead, it was dangerous to not do so, in case the stimuli wasn't invented. The fur on the back of her neck raised and her eyes darted around. "Who's out there?" She growled and took a few steps back, towards her destination. If she didn't hear anything else soon, she'd dismiss it and go on her way. But... What if something was there?

Umeme's ears perked high into the air as the words filled them. So she had smelled something, and by the sound of it, they had either heard or smelled her as well. Umeme's lips curled into a strange twisted smile, it was time for some fun! She could tell she wasn't far off from her target, the other's voice had given away her location easily.
Unsure of who exactly was out there, or whether they posed a threat, she chose to introduce herself as a non threat. Should the need arise for her more physical attributes, she would not shy away from using them. But for the time being, it seemed smart to not scare those, who may already be fearful.
It took a moment for her to gather her thoughts, and try to make herself more presentable. She was a brute of a lioness, rather large in size and muscle. So it took a bit of work to make herself less scary looking, but soon she felt well enough to step out of the shadows.
As she came face to face with the new lioness, she tried her best to smile though it came off as more of a pained expression. "I am." She grumbled, staring directly into the obviously nervous lioness' eyes. "I am Umeme, Elite Guard of the Antianeira. I come bearing a warning, should you wish to hear it."

Oh boy, sorry Puh! Didn't even realize this had ever been tagged.
Xun flinched when the big lioness revealed herself. She was just startled, that was all... Her ears turned forward with curiosity, though her furrowed brows suggested that she was still rather apprehensive. "I'm Xun. I was actually seeking a member of your pride." She forced a smile of her own. "Though I would have preferred it to be my mother or my sister... Do you know Caellagh or Dhyl'Ahn?"
Umeme had mentioned a warning. Xun felt the information about being blood with this lioness' adopted kin would give her some sort of protection, even if it was living just long enough to be taken to her family, who maybe then could protect her. It was dangerous not knowing what she was getting herself into. While Umeme had opted to talk and introduce herself instead of an ambush, Xun was only slightly less scared than when it had been a faceless presence making noise in the jungle.
Slightly.

The mention of those very familiar names set Umeme back a notch and her hardened stance loosened enough for the other lioness to feel less threatened. Cocking her head to the side, she wasn't about to let her guard down fully. "Perhaps .... you claim these are your Mother and Sister, have you proof of this connection? Or simply word of mouth?" Her eyes stood accusatory, but none the less she awaited an answer. If this lioness was indeed related to those inside, she would allow her to enter. But if she were simply an imposter .. she would tear her to shreds for lying. Then tear her up again for illegally entering her lands under false pretenses.
"My warning still stands, though. Heed it well. You are stranger within these lands. Should you attempt to mislead us or threaten us you will regret that attempt with your life." If her threat wasn't enough to get her point across, she was more than sure her deathly stare would do the trick.
"Now, speak up! Tell me more of your connection to these ladies."
Puhterodactyl
XD It happens! I'm just glad you came back to it <3
Xun didn't know what kind of proof to offer the lioness. She didn't really closely resemble her sister Dhyl. She was white where Dhyl was black. Green where she was pink, and not many common markings between them. "This pink is my mother's, the marks on my cheeks and shoulders as well. Her eyes, too." Xun was grasping at straws, trying to come up with how to please Umeme.
"I was born in the Mwako and lived there with my family until it disbanded. I'd heard a little of the Antianeira and knew I had family here." She paused. "I - ... I wasn't quite sure what to do with myself after the pride fell apart. So I came here looking for yours." She stared at the ground with her rosy eyes, all too well aware that Umeme was calling all the shots now.

Umeme listened to Xun's explanation, all the while her cold glare staring holes through the other female's body. She wasn't sure whether to believe her. But she knew quite a bit about the others to not have some sort of relation to them. That much was a given. As she went on to describe her resemblance, it became clear that she was a relative of the two female's hidden within the pride's borders.
"To say I don't believe you would be a lie. But to not question you, would go against everything I have been trained to do. So I must ask, how can you be so certain that your family remains within our borders?"
Her gaze had become softer, but she still held firmness tightly within her reach. She had to remain professional. To lose track of who she was, and what her duties entailed? That would be incredibly unprofessional of someone in a position as high as her's.
