Roll a Ten: Playground Field: The field looks like an average playground. Grass mostly covers the field floor, but sand surrounds the areas where the jungle gym, see-saw, swing set, merry-go-round, monkey bars, and trapeze rings are set. Scattered around the field are a baseball, a soccer ball, a football, and many other types of balls. A tree stands at one corner of the playground with a tire swing hanging from its strongest branch. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to NORMAL type attacks.

Lenore walked calmly into the playground arena, Mephistopheles floating at her side. With a wave, Mephistopheles floated down to the ground level.

Zinnia was ready for another battle! She flounced up the steps and into her trainer's box with Zyk grimly clinging to her shoulder. "Hey there!" Zinnia piped up to Lenore. "Let's have a nice battle! Okay, Zyk, you know what to do!" The playground field was always a relaxing one to have; there really were few hazards to worry about, especially since Zyk could fly anyway.
Zyk hovered over his position on the field, squeaking every now and then, using his sonar to 'see' his surroundings. He did not seem to share his trainer's attitude; he was taking the impending battle very seriously.

"Astonish!" Zinnia retorted, surprised that her opponent's pokemon had attacked without prompting. Then again, it wasn't all that uncommon, even among her own pokemon!
Zyk staggered in midair from the psychic attack, but he quickly dove at Mephisto, squeaking as he went, "Thanks, but I won't need it!" He'd win by his own strength and skill; luck had nothing to do with it.

"Very well." Mephistopheles quickly phased out, allowing the zubat to travel harmlessly through him. Phasing back in, his eye glowed once more as the soccer ball rose up to meet the zubat.

"Zyk!" Zinnia cried in alarm as she watched her precious zubat plummet from the air and actually crash into the ground. But he was back up on his feet in an instant, and after shaking off the pain and surprise, he was back in the air. "Hang in there... Astonish!"
Zyk winged his way back to the ghost pokemon bravely.

The zubat came with increased speed, and Mephistopheles couldn't faze out in time. Instead, he opted to move slightly to the side to mitigate damage. His eye continued to glow as he sent a baseball flying after the zubat.

"Supersonic!" Zinnia called out, worried by how tired Zyk already appeared to be.
Feeling battered and bruised, Zyk emitted a series of long, confusing shrieks that were just barely within the human range of hearing.

Mephistopheles faltered from the noise. He couldn't keep his thoughts in order. His eye glowed as he lifted up a ball and flung it at the zubat. Or so he thought. He wondered why it seemed slightly metallic. He got his answer as the ball ricocheted off the pole and slammed into his face.

Mephistopheles' senses were decidedly messed up now. I should play it safe. He vanished and reappeared in front of Zyk, and a blast of darkness shot forth.

The attack landed, and Zyk staggered once more. He nearly hit the ground again, but managed to catch himself in time and regained altitude. He was already barely hanging on to consciousness.
"Zyk!" Zinnia exclaimed. She knew the signs, and her beloved bat pokemon was on his last legs. "You should come back!"
Ignoring his trainer, Zyk swooped in for another Astonish attack.
