Bio: Layla grew up in a broken home. Her mother was a pureblood witch and her father was a muggle. Her father knew what her mother was, and took the opportunity to become a lazy, indolent drunkard since her mother could make far more money working for the Ministry for Magic. Being a part of the Wizengamot put her in a dangerous position, however, and one day she was killed by a wizard upset at the release of a man he accused of killing his family. Her father went through all the stages of denial and Layla, then just a toddler, was sent to live with her mother's family. Finally her father managed to straighten out his life and was granted custody of his daughter. A few short years later and Layla, now eleven, recieved her letter of acceptance from Hogwarts. At first reluctant to let her go, her father finally gave in and sent her off to school. Layla is determined to be as successful as her mother was.
Other: Growing up at her grandparent's house, Layla was exposed to many strange things, and she took a liking to the more shadowy, stranger, darker corners of her grandfather's study whenever they weren't looking. Layla's wand is six inches, fir, dragon heartstring, and very stiff.
