n_n;;

I really like cooking. I like it even more when I'm cooking for someone else. Unfortunately, I don't have very many interesting recipes... and the ones that are interesting are really difficult to make. sweatdrop

That's why I've created The Recipe Box, for all the members of SNS to share their recipes with others! This way, anyone who has a recipe that they like or have made up themself can post it. n_n

And don't worry... if you don't have a recipe to share, you can still make one of the recipes posted and tell us how it tastes. xd

Avez un bon repas! whee

Submitting a Recipe!

- Include what kind of recipe it is (entree, desert, side-dish, appetizer, etc)
- Make sure it's legible and organized! x.x;;
- Be sure to include any special procedures or equiptment to use.
- DON'T MAKE IT TOO LONG. Some of these pages are bound to get pretty long, but I don't want them to be a million lightyears long! ><

Basic Rules!

- Be polite and tactful! If someone posts a recipe that you think sounds really nasty, don't just go off on them like a kid who just sniffed sauerkraut! ><
- Be respectful of recipes from other cultures. Food is something that has brought cultures together for ages. Just because it's different from what you're used to doesn't always mean its disgusting.
- STAY ON TOPIC (or close to it D: ). I would seriously hate to see this thread get turned into a heavy flirtation war zone filled with "I love you!" battles. ._.'
- Enjoy yourself! whee heart

Easier than imaging Gir-ganisms Rice Kristpy Treats

Ingredients=
1 10 oz. bag of marshmallows(small puff preferred, but any size will work)
3 tbsp. Margerine(butter if you want a buttery flavor)
6 cups of Rice Krispies(go for the generic brand, much MUCH cheaper!)

^^ the hardest part of this recipie is probably measuring out the rice krispies.

First, melt the margerine over low heat in a large pot. THis is a good opportunity to measure out the rice krispies. in fact, do this NOW. you wont have an opportunity later.
Second, after the margerine is melted, add the whole bag of marshmallows, stirring with a spoon to help keep it from sticking.
When all the lumps are melted out of the marshmallows, add the krispies into the pot, stirring while you add. After a few moments, it should get hard to stir, but thats good because it means your doing it right.
after every thing is mixed, coat a seperate spoon(whatever size you want) with butter, and use it to scoop the mixture into buttered muffin cups.

i usually pour melted chocolate on top of those, stick popsickle sticks into them, then put those into the fridge, but use your imagination for toppings!( i've even once put icing on top and served them like cupcakes)

Chicken a la Creme
INGREDIENTS:
1/4 cup butter
1 1/2 pounds chicken breast tenderloins or strips
salt and pepper to taste
1 pint heavy cream

DIRECTIONS:
- Melt half of the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken tenders with salt and pepper, and saute them in butter until golden on all sides, about 10 minutes. Add the remaining butter, reduce heat to medium, and cook for 5 more minutes.

- Pour the heavy cream into the skillet, and simmer gently for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened and chicken is cooked through. Best when served with fresh French bread for dipping.

A+ Carrot Cake

2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

2 cups white sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups vegetable oil
2 cups grated carrots
1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained
1/2 cup sweetened flaked coconut
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 cup raisins

DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Coat a 10x15x2 inch baking dish or 10 inch Bundt pan with cooking spray.

- In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg. Set aside. In a separate larger bowl, mix together the eggs, sugar and vanilla by hand. Stir in the oil; the mixture should resemble pudding. Gradually stir in the dry ingredients, then fold in the carrots, pineapple coconut, walnuts and raisins. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, and spread evenly.

- Bake for 55 to 60 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a small knife inserted into the cake comes out clean.

Peach Muffins

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups vegetable oil
3 eggs, lightly beaten
2 cups white sugar
2 cups peeled, pitted, and chopped peaches

DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease 16 muffin cups.
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt. In a separate bowl, mix the oil, eggs, and sugar. Stir the oil mixture into the flour mixture just until moist. Fold in the peaches. Spoon into the prepared muffin cups.
- Bake 25 minutes in the preheated oven, until a toothpick inserted in the center of a muffin comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes before turning out onto wire racks to cool completely.

now we all should know by now that i aspire to become a professional gourmet chef that has a tv show. these are a few recipes that ive found and modified (with the exception of elephant stew, that i found and copied directly from a church cookbook, no im not kidding a church cookbook) or i came up with myself.

1lb of ground beef. or so.
2 cloves of fresh garlic (crushed)
half an onion finely chopped

A large microwave safe bowl
A microwave
A GIANT bag of chips

open the can of chili and dump the insides into the large microwave safe bowl then dump in the cream cheese into the same bowl and place all of that in the microwave (i suggest covering the bowl with something so you dont have a mess to clean up later) and run the microwave on high for about 30 seconds, stir and repeat the 30 second thing + stiring until the cream cheese is well mixed into the chili and the entire thing is warm.

then dip the chips into the mixture and eat it like that =)

its pretty damn yummy if i do say so myself (i love cream cheese =D)

Elephant Stew
Created by Delores Martens Harvey

1 elephant
Salt and pepper to taste
Brown gravy
2 rabbits [optional]

Cut the elephant into bite-sized peices. This should take about 2 months. Add enough brown gravy to cover, about half a tank car. Cook over kerosene for about 4 weeks at 465degrees. This will serve 3,800 people. If more people are expected, two rabbits may be added, buit do this only if necessary, as most people do not like hare in their stew.

ill eventually add more as i come up with awesome stuff =)

cept my famous Amy Muffins, that is something i prefer to hoard to myself
