Her small bag wasn't exactly impressive. A few changes of clothes, some books, her journal. That was all Ami had left to her name. She hadn't fully gone through her room for everything, but it was what she could manage for now.

Unfortunately for Ami, she didn't really have a lot of close friends at Deus. Well, to be fair, she'd never had a lot of close friends ANYWHERE. There weren't exactly people lining up at the door offering to be her roomate.

Wilson was out, definitely. Besides, she'd heard his room wasn't in great shape either. Marcus was a no- sleeping in an engaged man's room? Could you say scandalous? Not to mention she wouldn't sleep in either of their rooms anyways. She liked them and all, but being close to men still made her somewhat uncomfortable, let alone sleeping with them. Sasha was with Jerry. Clerise was a no. Leon was a guy. The list of no's just kept building.

She was down to Tori. Ami liked the girl a good deal, but they weren't exactly close friends. Walking down the hall on her way to visit Tori, she met up with Dakota. Okay Tori was DEFINITELY better than Dakota. And Feng for that matter.

You know what? Tori was a pretty great option, all things considered. Ami arrived at her dorm and knocked politely. Hopefully the lifer would be in...

Indeed the lifer was in sitting at her desk reading as she took a few notes and her weapon telling her that he was board or to ask a question. Tori was also thinking on what she would need to fix up the cracks in one of her walls as it wasn't too bad to fix just annoying when one really didn't know too much about repairing walls. Sighing a little as she would just do it later on when she felt like it. Tori had been glad to see that her room was untouched from all the fighting they had done in the hallways and felt bad for those that had damaged rooms as that just sucked.

Hearing a knock on her door, Tori stood up from her chair and walked to open it up. "Hi, Ami," Tori said as she smiled as it had been a while since she had see the moonie. "Come in," she said opening the door all the wait to let Ami in. "Its been a while, how are you doing,"

Ami smiled, walking into the room like nothing was wrong. It was a bit hard for Ami to humble herself and just ask to stay over. She was too prideful.

"Okay," she answered vaguely, "Kind of hectic with all the insanity monsters, but not too bad." She looked over at the cracks in Tori's walls. Ouch, that didn't look too good. It wouldn't be fun to fix, that was for sure.

Then again, neither would her waterlogged dorm.

She shook her head and said, "That's rough Victoria." She gestured to the walls, frowning. Poor thing.

Ami then said, "Listen I was wondering ..." Here it came. The most important, dramatic question. "Do you have any tea?" TEA WAS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE OKAY.

"Well that is good and you are right about the insanity monsters but it was a little fun too," Tori replied as she shut her door for some privacy as it was nice to have it back. "Here have a seat," Tori said as she pulled out her desk chair for Ami to sit.

"Its not too bad, Ami. A little research to figure out how to fix, but its not as bad as some of the other rooms," she answered smiling as it would be a fun project and Aklin thought so too as it would get his hunter from reading all the time.

Quietly the Lifer listened as she smiled a little bigger at Ami's question. "I do have some tea, its nothing too special," Tori replied as she when to her closet and pulled out a tin of rooibos tea and then handed it to Ami. "I don't have any way to make hot water or I would offer that too,"

"Oh thank GOD," she drawled, taking a packet of tea out of the tin. "I can't stand the stuff they have here. It's ridiculous!"

She sighed, sitting on the bed gestured to. "Let me know if you need help," she offered, gesturing to the wall. "My room was underwater, so everything's gone and done for."

Another heavy sigh escaped her mouth as she thought about all the damage once more. So much work it'd be to clear everything out and redo it. Not to mention her books. Ohhh her books. She flopped onto the bed. "How in the world am I supposed to replace a copy of the original Catcher in the Rye Tori?" Depressed Ami was depressed.

Tori total knew how Ami felt since she had tried it once and total regretted doing it. What she had given to Ami was some of the last she had and thought the next time she had a day off to pick up more. "Your welcome and your total right about that,"

"I will once I get to that point I just might," Tori answered. "Awww that really does suck. You can stay here until your room is fixed up and I can help you with that too," she added

Heart aching hearing to what happened to Ami's books as that was something that one never wanted to happen to any books. "That really does suck, maybe you could take that book to a book restorer to see if any of your books could be saved especially that one or you could see if you could find another copy," she answered as she didn't know what she would do if the same thing happened to her as there was one book that she could never replace. "I will help you out in any way that I can too, Ami,"

Ami sighed. There was no way a book restorer could replenish her book. Regardless of how nicely the job was done, it would never be the same book. It was ruined and there was nothing she could do about it.

She was about to say something along the lines of "Sorry, I can't but thank you."

If she really thought about it though? What choice did she have? She'd have to stay in the hallways, sleep in the libraries? There weren't exactly suitors lining up at her door to woo her into staying in the dorms. She didn't have tons of friends, it was no secret she was prickly.

"I ... would appreciate that," Ami said cautiously, slowly. "I don't see what choice I have." She gestured to the room. "But I have to ask, where is there room?" Deus Ex dorms weren't exactly triple room apartments. They were tiny, compact. There was probably hardly enough room for Tori. Where would Ami even go? "I don't want to be a burden..."

Tori did feel bad for Ami and her books as she didn't know how she would even feel if the same thing had happened to her. Then she thought that she didn't want it to happen at all if it could be helped.

"You won't be a burden, not at all," Tori said reassuringly with a smile as she thought it would be fun. Yes it would be a little cramped but its not like she was always in her room all the time and she also did want to be better friends with Ami as they did share a passion for books. "Well if we move the bed against one of the walls from where it is now and move the desk more near the closet," she said as Tori looked quickly around the room. "Once we get a cot for you Ami, we can see what works," the Lifer said as she was thinking on what they would need from the quartermaster. "Don't worry too much as it might not take too long for your room to be repaired and later on we can go shopping too if you want,"

No she couldn't. There was no way. It would be weird and awkward. They'd have to change in front of each other and go to sleep near each other. She'd have to submit her habits to another person and trust them entirely not to reveal the embarrassing bits.

When she looked up at Tori though, she felt like an a**. Here was a girl totally willing to help her and give up her room- the only free space they were given on campus. She even offered to go shopping for new dorm things, and yet here Ami was worrying about having to sleep next to her.

Ami sighed and scratched her head, letting some of the hair in her braid fall loose. "Ah ... Yeah. I'd really appreciate that Tori. I'm in your debt I guess."

For Tori sharing her room was nothing really and she also really wanted to help her friend out. Also something like this was sorta normal for her since in her old life she was never truly alone anywhere in the house with guards, maids and other workers around her to check up on her. "I'm glad and your not in my debt, Ami. So don't worry about it," she replied giving Ami a big smile.

"Lets make a list of what you need that we can't get from the Quartermaster, as there are something that I want to get, like getting more booze chocolate since I don't have much left," she said as she grinned at mentioning of the chocolates but they were oh so good. Tori started to make a mental list of what would be needed from the Quartermaster. "Also lets find some hot water were you can have some tea,"

Internally, Ami was hugging the girl and blessing her holy name. She was offering her room, tea, chocolate (admittedly, if it had booze, Ami would have no part of the vile drink, but chocolate was still chocolate).

On the outside though, all Tori got was Ami awkwardly shifting from hands at her sides, to hands on her hips, to arms crossed. There was no dramatic hug, as Ami wasn't even comfortable touching as it was. Still, Tori got a nod from her head- and that was progress.

"Ahaha ... yes well, I'm off to the library, do you need anything returned?" she inquired politely. "I'll stop by my dorm later to ... see what I can scavenge, but for now, library it is."

Smiling big as Tori would take what she could as Tori thought of Ami as a good friend. Tori did keep on thinking on what else could be done to make the both of them comfortable.

"I do," the lifer said as she when to her desk and walked back to Amil handing her a book. "Thanks and if you need any help just ask," she added as Tori picked up one of her notebooks. "I will go and talk with the Quartermaster while your out to at least get the basic things needed. Also do have fun at the library too,"

Ami nodded and grabbed the books, walking out the door. It maybe have been rude, but Ami didn't feel the need to grovel at the girl's feet.

She would never be desperate or grateful enough for THAT.
