Slip out the back before they know you were there
and at the worst you'll see nobody cares, you don't want to be around when it all goes down... William Dante Nott the Third
Fourth Year, Slytherin
Solitude, it swept its hailing winds across the school grounds, and despite all that had happened within the castle stone walls enclosing around them, there hadn’t even been a stark chatter of wondrous curiosities. The thought that had plagued the minds of many, for now, had disappeared and evaporated into the night leaving only a ghostly spectral in the wake; William Dante Nott the Third entered with utmost silence. His brooding demeanor lay hidden behind a mask, its perilous smile stretched far and wide and maniacal, illustrious cheeks pushed high with humor, and horns gently protruding from his forehead. His hair of auburn gold and brown was slicked backwards with light pressure. There were few and far in between, he realized, noting the differing stance of height between upperclassmen and the younger first year counterparts.
He had no true reason to be here, no occurring ulterior motive—save for the one simple fact: to watch. So far, every aspect he wore boldly was hidden behind a mask. From his gold eyes, to the curling lip of a snarl. He wore no coat or sigil to reveal his identity, only a simple black robe to shroud the black slacks and starch white button up he wore.

So you wanna call me the devils' advocate But you don't even know the half of it I was raised to believe in miracles My life is so cold
Third Year, Slytherin Seeker ╔════▄▀▄▀▄▄▀▄▀▄════════════════════════╗
The young woman that had just risen past the entrance steps and walkway was a complete, and utter, stranger. Annabelle had long since decided that she would not attend, but on this very morning, her mother had sent in owl with an elaborate white mask concealing most of her face, accented with a generous white plume that feathered out around her. Sable black hair as dark as the midnight sky shone with a gleaming brilliance of mystery and intrigue, the dress she wore fit tightly against her chest as a corseted top accented with gleaming silver and light blue accents, the bottom black layer of her dress split just around her thighs to expose milky long legs, toned from hours of quidditch. The top layer was a veneer sheer fabric accented with spirals of blues and silver flowed generously around her. Long, black laced gloves snaked up her arms, identity completely concealed.
Misted green eyes darted back and forth as she took note of who was in attendance. She had told Devin that she wouldn’t be attending, but, she doubted he would recognize her at all. Tonight, was raw. She’ll let loose, let her guard fall, and be anyone she wants to be. With a slow demure smile creeping upon her face, she strode along deeper into the ballroom.

Leonidas Henry ReedlingFirst Year Slytherin
Why did masks have to itch? Leo wanted badly to take his off, but knew that then it wouldn't be a masquerade. So he settled for scratching his face when no one was looking. He had on a simple black and gold mask, not having very much money at all, and not wanting a more fancy mask. He liked how he looked, mask, suit, cloak, and brushed hair. When he had looked at himself before coming here, he had thought that he looked a little handsome, in the regale way his "father" had taught him. For the first time in his life, he wished he was back with his "father" so he could have the finest clothes money could buy, and perhaps get something for Amanda, too.
Speaking of Amanda, where was she? Leo glanced around the ball room, not spotting the familiar blonde. He still couldn't believe that she had said yes, and that she hadn't laughed. Perhaps she was here, and he couldn't recognize her. He doubted it. He knew her quite well, and if he didn't find her, he was sure she would find him. Perhaps she was so awestruck by the room's beauty that she had forgotten to come find him.
The ball room did not stand out to him at all. As the son of a wealthy lord, he had lived in a massive mansion, filled to the brim with rooms such as this. Not that he minded being away from his "father" but he did mind living on the streets when he had been raised in a mansion. At that moment, Leo swore to himself that if he ever had children, he would never leave them as his "father" had. He would stand by them and give them the best life possible.
Abruptly, he realized that for the past few minutes, he had simply been standing there, in the entrance to the room. Quickly he sidled to one side to wait by the wall, simply a lonely observer for now.

Devin walked into the ballroom, sort of disappointed that Annabelle had not come, but it was quite alright. He was not going to let that tiny little fact decide his mood. He was just going to have a good time at the dance with his friends. Well, once they get here at least. None of his friends were actually here yet. Colton, Phinelia, Jane, if he can call her one, Tristain, or even Jayden and Ronyo, were all obviously some where else. Devin just sat down at a table, a very suave mask concealing some of his facal features. He didn't really care that he wasn't well-concealed. He wasn't going to do anything stupid anyway: so why bother trying to actually conceal himself?
Devin sat at the table observing the many students, attempting to figure out who each was. He knew that the two kids who looked like each other was the two first year twins. He knew that the other little kid was a Slytherin first year; although, he could not place name on his young face. He did not know who the other was. He honestly could no tell, due to their face covering mask. The male had some kind of beast-like mask on, and stood much shorter than Devin, but his physical physique matched Devin's. He honestly couldn't think of anyone that would fit this description, nor did he want to. The female however, was a truly graceful looking creature, one that walked with phenomenal posture, had an almost intoxicating ivory white skin, and was beautiful, but he could not pursue such a woman, for he really started to believe his heart belonged to Belle. So, before temptation set in, he looked away and awaited his friends. He just sat there, absentmindedly drinking the drink that was provided for them by the school.

phinelia von ichvalfourth year - ravenclaw captain - ravenclaw quidditch teamhermes▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬“In the country of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.” – Desiderius Erasmus “The haft of the arrow had been feathered with one of the eagle’s own plumes. We often give our enemies the means of our own destruction.” – Aesop “There is only one good, knowledge, and one evil, ignorance.” – Socrates “If the brain were so simple we could understand it, we would be so simple we couldn’t.” – Lyall Watson ╔══════════════════╗ The internalized question found her once again playing nervously with the curl of her hair. The normally separated strands of viciously red hair were now combed and styled together. Hanging off her left shoulder in a light curl and in all their fiery fury. Nervous fingers twisting into the very thing of her question as she considered once again whether she may have done well to spend this time now set away in the dusty, comfy corners of the library. Or her dormitory floor. Rather than this ball room where so many people seemed now occupying but not the one her molten eyes were searching for and her heart demanded. The year had been a quickly paced one thus far, new knowledge filling almost every time slot that was not carrying the mark of homework or greatly desired sleep. Days were quick to pass in the strangely sluggish way of fury, but passing none the less with possessed time's hand. In that way Phi was finding it more and more damning that she had become used to the lack of her friends' company. Even with Colton's being the most noted in the fielding touches and lingering emotions, Ronyo and Jane had also been set to their own devices. The whole of her circle of company and any of her classmates seemed now like secluded creatures on their own boats rather than a community of children. It was disheartening to find she found no problem with it when she felt so changed by the offer of friends. By the offer of stepping away from her old life. Now, dressed in her black dress and face covered with a swan mask she descended the few stairs into the expansive ballroom. Mask secured in decoration and dress professional kept away from her trip-prone feet. Molten eyes that felt strained in being used for any action that the eager scanning of lines of text from endless books quickly found familiar persons past their changed faces. The creativity and variety of the masks that confronted her touched a smile to her full lips as she blinding found her way to a wall. From across the room she could see people speaking to each other. William Nott stood in his own shaded corner, a reflection of himself in his mask. Allen, the Cloud brothers and so many other school residents flowing before her like so many waves as her mind drifted to the thought of how any disguise was a clearly reflection of a part of someone. ╚══════════════════╝

яεġrετ┃яσι ♦ ғεαя┃яσι ♦ ταkε prιdε ιη┃яσιWith tense shoulders and a heavy load of curiosity, Colton swept through the shadows that surrounded the ballroom dance floor, doing his best not to bump into anyone. He knew that Phi would in not be expecting him, and that fact actually stung a bit. He had dreamed of becoming her boyfriend for far too long to shirk such a responsibility.
Adjusting the neckline of his suit, he weaved in and out of students, hoping to find the only person he cared to see, but the mirage of masks made the task nearly impossible, not to mention the low visibility that his own mask provided.
Becoming restless, Colt slowed to a stop, only for his eye to catch sight of something more enticing than one could imagine. Phinelia's long red hair flowed out elegantly around a skillfully crafted mask, giving her the face of swan, though her own natural beauty was still partially visible. Clad in an even more elegant black dress, that lined her shoulders with lace and feathers, Colton found himself falling for the girl for the millionth time.
Straightening up and clearing his throat, he maneuvered around the crowd so that he approached her from the southeast, and was able to slip an unsuspecting hand around hers to keep her from slipping away. "You look beautiful, Phinelia," he struggled to whisper, a little annoyed at himself for not coming up with a better description for her flawless appearance. "I'm sorry I'm late," Colton added shamefully, dropping his eyes to the floor beneath his feet, only to quickly return his gaze to her face when he instantly realized what a shame it would be to waste his time staring at something less astonishing.
With one steady finger, he lifted her chin to give her a polite, yet long overdue kiss, and chuckled lightly as their masks made such a thing nearly impossible."The fool doth think he is wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool."- William Shakespeare

Leonidas Henry ReedlingFirst Year Slytherin
Still standing by the wall, absorbed in his thoughts and memories, Leo spotted her, the lovely young blonde adorned all in green. She wore a simple dress and shoes, but it brought out her natural beauty. Even though he could hardly see her face, he knew it was her, and his young heart leaped to see her. Quickly and silently, as a shadow, the boy swooped towards her. As he neared her, he noticed how rigidly she stood, as though she were about to bolt. He came up behind her and gently touched her arm, as to not startle her. "Hello Mandy!" he said, softly but loud enough to be understood. The eight years he lived with his "father" came flooding back as the training and etiquette resurfaced in this elegant environment. As she turned, he bowed, taking her hand in his. Then, realizing she may not recognize him behind the mask, he lifted it up so she could see his smoky blue eyes. "It's me, Leo! Welcome!" He felt mildly embarrassed in his old suit in front of this radiant young woman. He had saved it when he was exiled from his house, and he had used an enlarging spell to expand it after three years of growing.

☠ Amanda Davis ☠ First Year: SlytherinYou Touch Me..I break you.Amanda jerked her arm as she felt a tap from behind. As she rapidly turned around, her braid flew behind her and hung over her shoulder for a second before falling back into place. In front of her stood Leonidas, the friend who invited her here, and he was dressed in a luxurious suit. I really don't belong here, she thought, trying to hide her uneasiness with a smile. "Hey, Leo," she said, answering Leo's hello. When he took off his mask to prove it was him, Amanda grinned. "Thanks. Uh, welcome to you too, I guess," she said awkwardly, not being able to come up with any other thing to say. wearing
