Before needed a rest. His energy was dropping not because the golem was starting to meet its expiration date. He was just exhausted from having to walk so much and cover so little for all his efforts xnx So he had stopped his epic journey to the drop-off portal to take a break. The problem was, there weren't any nearby benches and Before felt like he'd waste MORE of his energy looking for one. Which was why there was tiny, two-foot tall female flyman sitting in the middle of the path. Right smack dab in the way for anyone to stumble over or, god-forbid, step on.

On the other hand, Deryk wasn't quite as tired. The big strides he was capable of in his golem did help save a bit of energy. After he was through dealing with the fairy, he continued on with his search for prospective weapon candidates. He still stuck to areas of the school that didn't have as much traffic for now, not really wanting to risk running into one of the students that may recognize his voice for who he really was. Getting his cover blown was not a part of his plan right now. One would think that he would have tried to pay more attention to the road after he had stepped on Astra, but that wasn't quite the case just yet. As he moved along, he turned to look over the field while still walking. As a result? He tripped over another tiny student. At least he didn't step on them this time. "AAAH!" he cried out before coming down with a loud thud.

Before maybe should have considered looking around first before simply plopping down on the middle of the path. But in his defense, it had been deserted and by the time he felt the tremors of the ground from having such a large creature tread on it, it was too late for him to get up and run. Not to mention his natural instinct would have been to run forward instead of the logical direction of to the side :/
As it were, there was a scream that acted as a second voice to the falling colossus. One that started the instant large foot met tiny frame. The scream was particularly girly and may or may not have been a feigned falsetto, the hunter in golem's skin will never tell. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!"
Before had curled into a ball, hoping for the best it became apparent that he was... simply bruised from having so large a foot hit him. But he wasn't crushed! 8DDDDDDDD Yaaaaaaaaaaaay!!! Oh s**t, wait, there was still the matter of that big... "Oh my God, you're huge!" he squeaked without thinking of the proper vocabulary usage.

That scream told him that what he had just tripped over was not a rock or anything like that. And sure enough, when Deryk pushed himself up a bit, he saw that it was another really small student. Man, what was with these tiny kids!? "AhmanI'msorry," he said quickly, hoping this one won't end up blowing up on him like the fairy originally had. Though, he paused as the little girl said something that had him have a double take. Tooley chimed in helpfully. As he sat there, the hunter looked over the other, before quickly looking around to try and see if there was anyone nearby. No one. "You... you're not really a student here are you..?" he said quietly.

Before froze. Visibly. And he had never been so grateful that a flyman's eyes were multifaceted and thus would not dilate the way a normal human's would in moments of dawning horror. Of course, Before had never needed to consider how a flyman's eyes looked or functioned prior to being in one. He wondered why exactly these larger than usual students were so suspicious of him. Was his acting really that subpar that they all see right through it? ;A;
"Of courzzze Tiff not really a student here! Tiff juzzzt zzzcouting on a friend'zzz zzzugestion!" Before insisted, letting the golem's wings vibrate in anxiety.
Vanna could offer no helpful suggestion other than for her partner to stick to his established story and keep things as simple as possible. Jack knows he could barely keep his zzz's straight.

Deryk scratched his head at the flyman's reaction. It wasn't really something he expected. Inwardly, he asked Tooley if he had just caught something weird at first or what. She said she didn't know of any areas of Halloween that didn't say Jack. He didn't really recognize the voice, but that didn't mean he hadn't run into another hunter. But he still had to be careful himself. How did he try to figure it out without giving himself away completely? "Ah. Um. Come from an island? Kinda really cloudy? Middle of nowhere? Er... usually white uniform... lots of um... h--reapers?"

Before continued to let the female golem's wings do all the panicking for him. And the more this huge-a** student talked, the faster and more frantic the golem wings beat. Riiiiiiiiiiight up to the moment he heard the other guy say "White Uniforms?" followed by "Reapers?"
It was Vanna who picked up on the beginnings of an H. And it was also Vanna who not-so-subtly informed Before that You might be speaking with a fellow Hunter who is also in a golem.
That little revelation sent a light bulb flashing in the Misty's head and the wings immediately ceased their buzzing. But still, it was just a possibility. Maybe he could glean some more information for confirmation. Just in case. You know? "Well I do like Sunning myself to Death under the Moon all my Life on Misty days." Yes. He'd dropped the zzz's as the multifaceted eyes on his female golem just stared up.

Bingo! Aside from the drop in the weird speech form, there was a hint towards the divisions. Alright, so he had another hunter on his hands here after all! Grinning, he nodded to the much tinier golem. "Not bad. From there myself.. Nothing quite like fighting to the Death now and then too. Especially with uh... Headmaster C.." he sort of murmured the ending of that. Just in case for some reason Caelius was able to hear that, as improbable as that was.

The Hunter in Golem's clothing made a face at the reference to said Division Leader, which loosely translated to the proboscis-like mouth curling into itself. "You have my condolences," Before would have given his fellow golem-clad Hunter a consoling pat except, well, height differences and all that. Plus he had a prize he wasn't keen on letting go.
"I tend to get all Misty eyed myself, especially whenever I hear such lovely Arias," he confirmed. Surely everyone at the base knew about the Mist Division's leader, yeah? He scanned their surroundings, making sure that they were completely alone (or as alone as he could see, there might be invisible ghosts here after all) before he motioned for the other golem to lean forward.

Deryk nodded to the other, who apparently was a mist hunter. That may explain why he didn't really recognize the voice. The only mist that he was particularly familiar with was Candace. Though he had spoken to Cass briefly as well. Looking around as well, he let out a breath as it looked like they were alone. Good. Turning back to the tiny golem, he noticed him motioning him forth. The big colossus skinned Hunter crouched down and leaned forward to see what the other wanted to say.

He didn't recognize the voice, but then again, the only guys in Death Before knew of were Gale and Jude and Otto. The Misty tended to keep to himself and his small group of familiar faces and even then gravitated to those he knew tolerated him and his less-than-stellar performance and personality.
Before craned up on his tiptoes as far up as his tiny, two-foot tall golem would allow in order to whisper, "Do you, like, know where the ******** that item drop-off portal is? And do you remember what the magic phrase codeword thingy you need to activate it?" He hoped that this particular Hunter would not report him to Caelius or, God-forbid, H for having forgotten such vital information. Probably best if he didn't volunteer his name either >.>a

Deryk blinked at that. Oh. He forgot the drop off? Wait. There was a dropoff portal? "You weren't just given a capsule to put the items in?" he asked. When he was on a retrieval, he just had a container that auto warped things to the labs. Maybe the other divisions had different tools or something along those lines. In which case, he was trying to think if there was something like that he had been told of in the past.

Before shook his head and pouted is dismay, OnO "I'm thinking they didn't expected I'd retrieve anything other than intel and shiz." Unconsciously, he gave the corrupted gadget he was holding a pat. Once he got it cleared by the Life Lab dudes, he would keep this as a memento of the ghost ghoul. "I remember it's somewhere here in these woods but well, itty bitty bodies make it hard to cover ground. Been walking for hooooours," he groaned.

Before clapped his hands in delight, nodding in agreement as he got himself ready to follow when it hit him, "Am I gonna have to sprint to keep up with you? I mean, I know I got these wings but they're mostly for show and can't lift worth s**t." He gestured to said useless appendages that for all intents and purposes were just accessories :/
