Time was moving quickly it seemed. He was growing more by the day, and he knew his mother would be proud. Each thought of mother though, brought a pang to the male that he didn't like to acknowledge. He even held it back from Samm. He didn't really confide in anyone, choosing to hold the things he had seen, and the things that bothered him behind a mask. If he kept busy, he didn't have to stop and think of anything besides the hunt.

Today, he was hunting a dangerous individual. He had heard that the Yellow-Eyed Demon was after him again, though this time, he had cubs behind him. Dene had to kill those cubs, before they grew up to be personal assassins. Normally, he hated the idea of killing children. He wouldn't do it in any normal circumstances. But he felt that pulling need of protecting the savannah, and his brother, from forces that he could prevent now.

The risk of death was great if he faltered in this fight, and so he had left Jasira home, sleeping close to Samm for warmth. She had been reluctant to let him leave, but seh had quieted when he had asked her to. She was a good hare, and a good friend.

Now his hazel eyes were focused on the savannah ahead of him.. He really needed to get this over with.
