People say that, in a nutshell, I'm Nice, funny a bit quiet, clumsy, tiny bit weird and a total 'Puff.
My background story is Chantale is the youngest daughter of her parents Gerald and Jarai Ellis of Boddam, Scotland. Her parents own a hotel/restaurant establishment in the tourist section of Boddam where she, her twin older sisters Nastassia and Naitana, and her eldest brother Lochland work alongside their parents and separate employees. Her mother Jarai is of Haitian heritage and came to Scotland for the Robert Burns Magical Emporium, a smaller wizarding Graduate school where she majored in Cooking and Business. She met her father Gerald during one of their classes together and a year later they were dating and finally after graduation her older brother was on the way while they were intended to be married. Nell loves her mixed heritage because it gives her a reason to learn both sides of her family's histories with her Haitian roots going back to the Wizarding Riots of 1687 and her Scottish roots nearly just as far. Of course she hasn't had a chance to read the family grimoire, but she finds the six more years of waiting won't entirely kill her. Nell also enjoys working in her parent's business because it gives her a chance to learn different languages. To the date she knows Scottish, English, Haitian, small bits of Spanish, French, and a few curse words in German (courtesy of Lochland).
A turning point in her young life was when she was six she witnessed her father Gerald gathering a shipment of live chickens to be taken and slaughtered. She couldn't help but bond with two of the chosen hens nearly having a tantrum the likes of which wasn't seen since the Dublin Riots until it was agreed that she could keep them as pets. These chickens are still alive and are joined in happily harmony with her other animals: Henry Hamster, Mordoc the Bunny, Peaches and Lime the Mice, Soot the Ashen-faced owl, and a penguin (which NO ONE knows how it survives) aptly named Pengoo.
Nell really enjoyed her first year at Hogwarts, even with the small scare near the end with her Mother's strange illness. She made friends in nearly all the Houses, had a chance to explore the fields of Hogwarts , and even played matchmaker.
Second Year was a bit of a sleepy blur. For some reason she hadn't gotten that much sleep and stayed up most nights drawing whatever came to her. At least she hadn't fallen behind or she might've failed her classes! In the summer she and her best friend Marina went with others go find and rescue the kidnapped students. She's been slowly trying to get rid of the nightmares that plagued her as well as a startling confession about herself.
Third Year was pretty awkward. First she kept having nightmares about what happened in the summer then she freaked out in DADA! Rose and her sorta..kinda..maybe..kissed and freaked out. They avoided each other for a while before a confrontation where they kissed again and agreed to be each others girlfriends. ((I've got a girlfriend!!!!))
Fourth Year was again rather uneventful except for a group of them running into a masked man in the hallway. That was kinda creepy. Most of her excitement happened during the summer months before when she traveled to Haiti to visit her grandparents and went through a sacred ritual of finding her spirit animal. She now has a celtic wolf tattooed on her side.
Fifth year was horribly hectic! Between running around being a prefect (which is totally and completely awesome! Especially the bathroom), studying for OWL' s and making sure Rose was studying for her OWL's she was pooped! Then there was the random assortment of people falling asleep and she was just run ragged, but thankfully everything was settled and she even got some super good news for next year!
Sixth Year was horrible tame! Besides the horror at the Fall Festival at the beginning of the year nothing really happened. There was a moment with Dhylan in the Boy's Dormitory where hair was lost...but she thinks it's over now.
Seventh Year was certainly filled with surprises. First Dhyl committed suicide sort of killing the happy mood that was our last year, and then that terrible thing with Heather and Remy's whole family. But there was some happiness as well. Gryffindor apparently lost its losing streak, everyone did awesome on their NEWT's (though I will be having words with Rose) now that I've graduated I'm putting my application in to be a Magizoologist and living with Rose and Claire. It's the start of a whole new life!
