Treading softly, Tuuli wasn't sure how she felt right now. Physically, she felt a little sick, though it was probably just nerves as she wondered whether the lion she was travelling with would still be in the same place that she left him. Since she knew the area slightly better than he did, she had offered to go off and try to hunt, since the two were definitely starting to feel the hunger after walking for a few days.

It had been a bit of a surreal whirlwind, really, meeting him, travelling with him; they seemed like they had been together a lot longer than they had, but it was probably because the two were fairly infatuated with each other. She knew that it was probably going to end up being some passing thing, but for the time being, it was a nice little adventure.

Taking in a deep breath, she had been so distracted that she hadn't been tracking properly, and the herd she had smelled earlier was no longer within range. Great. Now she'd be away even longer than planned.

Þekja'Hrími had been semi-alert in his persuit of trying to climb a tree, while having a mouthfull of Antleope blocking most of his vision. As well as making the blue leopard move awkwardly. He wasn't as well camouflaged as others of his species, so.. when hunting bigger game he had to be creative. Which usually entailed playing ' Death from Above ', with the prey animal. It didn't work out so well, sometimes. Although, it was more than amusing when a branch would fall on them. Obviously, not a branch he was on.

Þekja was getting a bit impatient though, considering how hungry he was. But he never liked eating on the ground. If there was one thing he hated more than hunger, it was someone else stealing his food!

...Although, Jackals were at a tie in the list of hate, as well. Annoying little things.

Squinting her eyes, Tuuli tried to see if she could spot anything that could have been hidden by the wind's direction. It was a little wilder today than usual, which could end up being either a lucky thing or an unlucky thing, keeping scents away from her until the sun goes down. Hopefully not, though.

Trying to stay positive, Tuuli shook her tuft of fur out of her eyes as the wind abruptly changed, slamming into the side of her face now. She wasn't really a fan of obnoxious wind, but this time, it seemed to bring good tidings. Yes, as soon as the ever-familiar scent of a fresh kill entered her nostrils, her eyes widened and ears perked up. They swiveled, like a radar, and she turned her head to face the direction where the wind was coming. She knew she had to be quick, before the wind would change again.

Taking quick steps, Tuuli desperately hoped that it was an abandoned kill, or something along those lines. She was never one to out-right take something that someone else worked so hard for, though she had shared if the other was willing. This time, though, she couldn't even do that if she wanted to; no, she wouldn't eat and leave her companion hungry alone.

With doubts rising in her mind, she neared a tree, where the scent was quite obviously strongest. At the very sight of it, her heart sank, knowing now that the chances were probably very slim of the kill being abandoned.

Þekja'Hrími only grunted as the wind shifted, it was bound to do so. Today was one of those awkwardly windy days, and luck be to any who were out hunting the normal way. Not that the leopard knew much about that. To have any sort of luck in hunting, he'd have to live in the mountains. Though the thought was tempting, there would have to be reason to do so. He did like the colder weather, but that wasn't vindication.

As his luck stood, at this point, his food was on a lower part of the tree, then he was. It had slipped from him, unfortunately, so all that hard work had gone to waste. At the very least, though, the slip hadn't broken one of his fangs. That would have been terrible.

In that regard, he was lucky, the leopard mused while scaling down to his food. He wasn't so lucky, in the fact that he could feel a hungry stomach glaring at his catch, somewhere. And that stomach wasn't just his.

Red eyes tracing the tree as she grew closer, she looked for any sign of current life. She was careful, taking each step slowly and as quietly. Her head was dipped slightly, and she was a little tense. If she thought carefully about it, she really shouldn't have been wasting all this energy to see if someone had abandoned their kill, but she was so eager to get back to her companion with a meal that she hadn't been thinking straight.

As her eyes moved up the base of the tree, she could see the hooves of a dead animal hanging. She took in a quick breath, desperately hoping that she had gotten lucky, since she hadn't heard anything from the predator that killed it.

But all that quickly changed as she heard a slight shake in the branches, and her eyes were immediately drawn to it. Her body shuddered slightly, preparing for the worst. She never liked being under another predator, especially when she didn't know what to expect from them. At this point, an overhead attack would've been easy.

Seeing the all-blue figure, she eased up a bit, figuring that she probably wouldn't be in too much danger. But, now knowing that she had no hope of getting this kill, she might as well see who was behind it and see if she could distract herself for a little while. "Um...hello there?" She called up to the other figure, hoping that they didn't think at this point she was going to try and take their kill.

Pale blue ears twitched at the sound of anothers' voice. Oh goody, he wasn't just paranoid. There actually had been someone else! A sigh escaped from him, knowing he might be a little grumpy during this interaction, thanks to the lack of food in his stomach. Þekja'Hrími peered down below himself and his dangling meal, to see the bearer of that voice. The leopard was expecting female, considering the voice had been feminine, although.. a few instances in his life told him not to be so quick with that judgement. Thankfully, the other creature was, indeed, female. A Lioness, no less..

It was common decency to talk back, correct?

" ..Uh, good day to you. "

Watching what looked to be a leopard, Tuuli was a little perplexed. It was probably because she hadn't really been around leopards all that much, but she definitely thought there was something initially odd with him. It was probably just a passing feeling, and Tuuli knew that she should never judge others by first impressions; goodness knows she'd made some horrible impressions before.

"Ah, yes, good day." Giving him a smile, she didn't want to come off badly. "Sorry if I'm bothering you suddenly. I was just out on a hunt and smelled your kill when the winds changed." Nodding her head, she spoke rather matter-of-factly. She didn't want to mislead the leopard, nor did she really want to waste his time. "Oh! But don't worry, I'm not going to try and take it or anything." Dropping her smile for a moment, she tried to be sincere. It was a little hard, trying to read and talk to this leopard, as he was in a tree above her.

"I figured, though, since I tracked this over here, I might as well see who was behind the kill." That was just how Tuuli was, oddly enough. She was always wanting to see how other creatures behaved, and maybe what their lives were like. That was part of what drew her to her current companion.

Þekja'Hrími listened quietly to the lioness as she spoke. His first impression of her was that the red and black lion was.. odd. To say the least. The comment she made about ' not going to take anything ', though, just made the leopard think that she would. Perhaps that was just him being paranoid, though. It was probably bad formalities to remain in a tree, while your company was on the ground, wasn't it?

The azure hued leopard slithered down the tree, hoping that this wasn't a trick. Though, if she did try to attack him, he might have a shot. Might, being the keyword. But she seemed too nice for that.

" I'm willing to bet that the wild wind, has been messing with your hunting. "

Well, he seemed rather...quiet. After that long-winded explanation, Tuuli felt like quite the blabber-mouth. Though, she had never really felt that way before. Usually, she just spoke to make things easier, and less-awkward, but apparently that was unnecessary here.

"Oh! Yes, yes it has." Letting out a laugh, she felt a little more at ease now, with him being right in front of her. He looked kind of regal, with his coloring and the general look of his pelt. It had such pretty shades of blue - quite the opposite of her all-red companion. She could really tell the difference the colors brought as far as feeling and look.

"But I was a little careless, as well, with my head in the clouds." Giving a sigh, her eyes slid off to the side. She felt a little defeated, honestly. She had never made such a careless mistake, and she was wondering whether it was a good or bad thing. She had never felt this way before, though, that was for sure.

"I'm sorry, I don't mean to take you away from your kill." Tuuli quickly remembered the fact that his kill was still dangling there, not getting any fresher.

Again, Þekja sat quietly and listened to the others' words. He didn't doubt that the wind messed up her hunt, nor did he doubt anything else getting in the way. The comment the red spotted lioness made, though, was curious. Head in the clouds, eh? The leopard wasn't aware that there were others in the world that could be so easily distracted while hunting. He knew the expression meant something about a crush or some such, but he'd never experienced it. Fancied himself more a flinger, than a lover. Both having there merits though, one could assume.

Medium blue eyes peered up at his medium sized antelope meal, dangling in the arms of the tree above them.

" It's fine, I suppose. This would be the first time no one has tried to steal my food. I could spare half of it, since you've been down on your luck. "

"The first time? Oh my, I'd hate to think that others would do such a thing." She knew it happened, though. In all her travels, Tuuli had met some very self-centered creatures before, but she had always tried to hold herself above all that.

"Oh, no no!" Shaking her head back and forth, Tuuli thought it was pretty kind that he offered, but she knew that she couldn't accept. "You see, I'm hunting for two, and I would feel just awful if I returned back with nothing for him, having eaten myself." If she was forced to return empty-handed, she'd much rather them both go hungry instead. She knew, though, that he'd probably just smile and tell her not to worry about it, or he'd go and give it a try himself, finding any form of food and putting Tuuli before himself. He was such a kind young male, but she wouldn't have been able to live with herself.

"Besides, you probably worked really hard for that, so you deserve every bit of it." Smiling at him, she let her eyes linger on the kill only for a moment; she didn't want to stare at someone else's food.

Well, that was interesting. Even amongst those he'd come across before and made that same off, they usually took it. Thanking him greatly, but still taking the food. He hadn't come across an individual who declined the offer, let alone so chipper. Though the lioness didn't know it, Þekja hadn't worked all that hard for the prey beast. In all actuallity, it had been happenstance. Delightful happenstance, but still, happenstance all the same. He was actually going to try his luck with some gazelle, but an antelope had wandered aimlessly away and under the leopards' tree, whilst grazing. So, with a happily curled tail, Hrími had dropped from his perch and onto the back of one very surprised animal. ..Which didn't stay surprised for very long.

" Not really. The Gods just decided to share today, I suppose. "

"Well, even so, there must have been a reason that luck was on your side today." Still grinning, Tuuli also didn't want to take anything from him in case he happened upon some bad luck in the coming days. It would best for him, at that point, to have eaten his fill before that happens.

"Though, standing around probably won't help me find food for today." Swishing her tail behind her, Tuuli could barely catch a scent in the shifting winds. Though she wouldn't get her hopes up, it was still a fairly promising sign.

"Well, sir, thank you for your time, and your generous offer. I really hope no one comes along and tries to take it from you." Frowning a little at the thought, she really did hope for the best. Maybe it was because she was still young, or maybe there was some form of naivety mixed in, but Tuuli had always tried to wish the best for others. "But, I should get going. Since, if I keep this up, I'll be out here all day looking for food. Have a good day, though." Giving the blue leopard one last grin, Tuuli turned, pausing only to focus on the direction the scent came from. With a small bounce, she started out into a run, that same desperate feeling from before slowly seeping back.
