Alexander had done something horrible. Horrible and stressful. He had invited Yin to prom easily enough during their spar, and explained what it was. At the time it had sounded all well and good.
When Yin thought about it, it sounded terrifying.
There were two issues really, the issue of clothing (including a mask, which he had never really worn) and the issue of well...dancing. The events of Scarentines Day had not been centered around a dance, and while he surely would not have to dance the entire time (or would he?!) he needed to at least not make a complete and utter fool of himself. And sometimes he heard Alexander talking about being good at something to do with dancing, and even though it made no sense it just made him a bit self-conscious to ask him to teach him.
So when he saw a conveniently-sized and somewhat familiar figure ahead of him near the trees he decided to make the dancing issue his top priority. "Jack?" he called out hesitantly, mainly because he was not sure that he was using the right name. But was there not something...nimble to do with him? Were dancers nimble? As he got closer he just blurted out the absolutely most pressing question. "Do you know how to dance?"

Jack was totally rocking out in the courtyard again, his faithful electric six-string hanging from his neck as he danced around with it a little - which, outside of his mind probably looked like he was having problems with his motor functions. Whatever, he felt awesome in his head.
Hearing the sudden, and yet hesitant request from the shorter boil, his upper-half twisting a little to look at the one he knew as Yin, his grin wild and stretching his face, scar rippling over his cheek.
"Yin Cang~" He sing songed, turning around, his tail sweeping behind him as he allowed his guitar to slack against him. "I know how to dance, it depends on what you're looking for though. What kind of dancing?" He offered up, bringing his hand to his chin fuzz, scratching it as an eyebrow raised, looking over the other boil.

Though his name was sing-songed a bit oddly to his ears, it was actually his full name. Someone was actually bothering other than Miss Xiu-Ying (or Alexander when he was trying to be serious, or get his way about something) and that alone brought a small smile to Yin's face as he continued his approach. To top it all off some of the first words out of the boil's mouth were that he knew how to dance.
Then he kept talking. What kind of dancing? Yin had now clue, and it was all he could do to keep from looking utterly bewildered. "Normal dancing I suppose? Oh! Unless masquerade dancing is any different than that?" It was more than possible that Jack was dealing with a complete novice. "I...I was actually looking for a few tips about how to dance myself..."

"Well~" He started, grabbing the neck of his guitar to spin it around so it acted like a musical shield on his back, he wandered closer to the mantis-boil, his body still swaying to the music that rang in his head. He stopped only a few steps shy of the shorter boil, looking down to him, cocking his head to the side like a child interested in a new discovery.
"It all depends, again. Are you dancing alone, or will you have a partner?" He asked, lifting his hands in the air to accept an invisible dance partner, spinning around a couple times before the next statement stopped him short, he looked over his shoulder again before spinning in place, placing his foot down to stop the turn, facing Yin.
"You're going to the masq? Are you taking Alex?" He asked, happy to help the zomboil in any way. "It's . . a little mixture of personal dancing - so you and someone - and mingling with others - which you don't really have to dance with." He offered up, scratching the back of his head as he worked on kicking off his shoes. If Yin was serious, he would have to drop the heels he used and pretend to be a stand-in Alex. Good thing they were the same height.
"I can show you a little of the easy stuff, if you want."

Jack kept asking questions, questions that Yin really did not have the answers to. So it was with some relief that Jack seemed to find the answers to his own questions. The masq? Was that what a masquerade was called? "Alexander asked me to go," he confirmed. But really, all of these questions were confusing him, which made the ordeal slightly stressful. "Anything you can teach me would be helpful," he said, gratitude filling his voice. "If you are not too busy? I would not wish to impose."
