Their first day in the city was coming to an end. Otto had settled himself on the edge of one of the hotel beds with his knees pulled p to his chest, the remote for the TV dangling from his hand and lazily pointed at the TV. The teenager skipped from channel to channel, his eyes unfocused as if he was less interested in the content and more on the flashing colours of the passing images.

Well.. it had been a while since he'd watched TV, after all.

Since they were sharing a room - well, the suite - Ariane had been bothering everyone pretty much the whole day, from the moment that they had checked in. However, now that it was getting pretty late, she had gotten bored of randomly attacking their a** with her hand, or trying to walk in on them when they're showering, and had left the door unlocked for one reason or another.

She liked to think of it as an invitation.

She had already taken her shower - even taking time to take a soak in the bathtub - before flopping on her bed, bored... Which was why she soon found herself on Otto's bed, poking him with a finger as she sat down on the edge, "Whaaaaaaat are you watching?"

Who knew his vacation would be filled with so much sexual harassment from Ariane? He wondered why he cared. He didn't care enough t make her stop, anyway. It wasn't the worst behavior to put up with. Besides, if he complained that a relatively attractive woman was bad touching him, he'd have to reevaluate his life.

Her silent invitation had been ignored, of course. Sure he had an abrasive personality, but he wasn't a pervert, or so he liked to think.

The poking woke him from his dead eyed daze. He grunted and flicked another channel. "Nothin. Ya know I ain't never was much a TV watcher, but even now nuthins ever on." The most his house had ever had was basic cable. Even when he visited friends, few as they were, less time was spent on actual television that it was games or rough housing.

He huffed and tossed the remote beside him with little regard for the body that now took residence on his bed.

She had to dodge the flying remote control, but at least he didn't deliberately aim for her face or something.

"I heard Chicago has a lack of arcades, especially ones that are open this time of night," She took the remote, and continued surfing through the channels, "I heard someone talking about some cafe called Pick Me up. Open 24 hours on the weekends though. Serves amazing cheese fries." Direct quote from the person she heard it from, "Want to go down there?"

Otto huffed and flopped down backward onto his bed. The TV was boring. Ariane was talking. Talking about arcades, it seemed. It piqued his interest, being a subject he rather liked. At first he was wondering where the conversation was even going. A lack of arcades was a distressing topic.

And then she turned it all around. 24 Hour cafe. Cheese Fries. Cheese Fries.

Otto shot back up into a seated position, his head turning down to look at Ariane. "Let's go."

She grinned, hopping off his bed, and tossing the remote aside; she had a feeling that he would be interested in something like that... Someone who might enjoy an unhealthy late night snack.

"We should ask for directions from the front desk," She hummed, leaving Otto's room for her own so that she could grab her cardigan; today is going to be food day. It was back to not-real food after the weekend, so she had already decided to stuff her face over the weekend.

"You can ask." Cause cool guys don't ask for directions.

The blonde slid off the bed and found his shoes and hoodie. The feeling of slipping on a hoodie and not a Hunter's coat was liberating. If only this lasted more than one weekend, he thought. All geared up, wallet in his pocket, and swallowing back the feeling of dread that came with remembering this vacation wouldn't last forever, Otto headed for the door.

It was time to gorge on junkfood. All of the junk food.

"Nope, you're asking," She looked at Otto from the doorway, already dressed to go, and raised an eyebrow at him; Arianes do not ask for directions, "Because I came up with the plan."

Otto narrowed his eyes at Ariane, the blue colour darkening under his lids. "Rock Paper Scissors." This would decide it all, cause Otto would not simply agree to this. He held out his fist, ready to play.

Fate would decide how this would end.

"You're on," She narrowed her eyes at him in return, and held out a fist, "Rock, paper, scissors-"

"Rock, Paper, Scissors!" He sounded at the same time, holding out his fist again. Good old Rock. Trusty Rock.

It failed him.

"DAMMIT!" He huffed, tugging the beanie out of his pocket and shoving it over his head. "Fine. I'll ask." He did not like that he lost. Otto walked out the door and down the hall, journeying down to the lobby and the front desk, each step filled with determination.

He slammed a hand down on the counter, startling the poor host on duty. Otto said nothing at first, staring down the older gentlemen before speaking. "Where's Pick Me Up?" The man tried not to get snippy at the teenager, pulling out a convenient restaurant and entertainment pamphlet with a map of places around the city.
One of those places was Pick Me Up, a cute little graphic pinpointing the location.

Otto grabbed the pamphlet, muttered a forced "thank you" and headed for the streets with Ariane.

She held up her open hand with a grin, almost like she was rubbing it in Otto's face as she followed him out the door, down the corridor, and to the first floor lobby; it was her victory, and it was sweet.

As he went to ask for directions from the reception, she headed to the front of the hotel; she exited, and stood outside, hands in the pockets of her cardigan as she waited for the boy to be done. Once he was out, she grinned, turning around to walk beside him, sounding a little too happy, "So? Did you find out how to get there?"

"Yes." He answered sharply, shoving the pamphlet and his hands into the pockets of his hoodie. He was being a sore loser now, but it was likely his mood was temporary. The crisp night air alone was enough to chill him out. It had been a long time since his last venture into a normal setting in the human world. His world, to be accurate. It was strange though. Maybe it was that he'd become so accustomed to Deus, but this world no longer felt real.

"It's kinda funny." He muttered suddenly, thinking aloud. He realized he'd spoken and not thought it and rolled his shoulders uncomfortably. "Nevermind. So, cheese fries. What else they got. Ya know?"
PostPosted: Sat Jun 09, 2012 9:12 am

"What is?" She asked immediately, her head snapping around to look at Otto; she had been looking at the buildings, the streetlamps, the cars parked at the side of the road, the neon signs advertising some bar located at the side of the road. Raising an eyebrow, she shrugged, "I only heard bits and pieces... Something about milkshakes, something-something chicken, something-burger, omelette..."

Thinking about food was making her hungry, even if she did take dinner earlier, "According to the person who was being obnoxiously loud though, their cheese fries is a must-try."

"Nothin." He was not one to get sappy, especially with Little Miss Butt Grabber.

Something something burger? Way to miss out on important information, Ariane. This was food they were talking about. "Then I guess we'll get the fries. Though.." He tilted his head, his voice laced with a touch of amusement, "I wonder how much we can stuff ourselves. It'll be a while after this that we'll get good food." His mouth salivated at the very thought. Sure, they'd had sushi, however the place had been so creepy Otto wasn't able to eat much of anything there.

According to the map he'd memorized they had to cross the next road. The light was green, but a car made a turn in front of them over the cross walk. Instinctively Otto lazily held out an arm to block Ariane from crossing until the car had gone. "Before we leave this weekend, I wanna go to a bakery." He began as if they'd never stopped talking, starting to cross the street. "Like, a big box of bread and cakes to take back with me." He made a shape with his hands on just how big of a box he wanted.
