Ajani breathed deeply as he stared at his reflection within the shallows of a small stream. He turned his head this way and that as though he was simply studying his face.

Oh, how he wished he didn't have the face of an innocence but rather that of a great-strong male! Inhaling deeply ande holding his breath for only short seconds, he puffed out his little small chest before exhaling quite loudly. Even trying to make himself look bigger didn't do him any justice. Why couldn't the Gods praise him and make him just a tiny bit bigger? Maybe even a poofy mane would help.

The young male scoffed before splashing at his reflection and turning around. It wouldn't do him any good just to look at himself and ponder about 'what if' questions. Just seemed pointless and silly. Ajani was a cub and would be for sometime before grown up, but he figured it would give him perfect amount of time to train and impress his Mother.

A grimace sprawled across his lips as he walked away from the small stream. It was about time he headed back to his family. Ajani surely didn't want to miss another lesson!

II Paradox II

Alfajiri was bored. It was a common occurrence, especially when it was time for her mother and siblings to take a rest. Alfajiri didn't like resting; she wanted to explore! So she had quietly gotten farther and farther from the resting spot... though never too far, since it wouldn't be fun to get lost all alone!

She came across a stream after a while and watched the water trickle away. Did it always flow in the same direction? Could the water turn around and go wherever it pleased? These questions puzzled the young leopard, and soon she was dipping her paws in the water and trying to flick the water back upstream. She was getting quite wet, which made her giggle and splash even more.

As she played, her bright blue eyes watched her surroundings. So, when Ajani took his leave of the stream, Alfajiri spotted the movement of his body. This caught her attention. What was that? It seemed small... Not quite as small as she, but not big enough to pose a danger to her.

Curiously, she ended her game and started to follow, meaning to get a good look at whatever the moving thingy was!

Ajani paused for a brief moment with a flickering tail as he glanced over his shoulder. There was a strange scent on the breeze that tickled his nose. It didn’t smell like his Mother or any of his siblings, so who could it be? Friend or foe? The young male blinked a couple times as his tail fell down in between his hind legs. He hoped it wasn’t an enemy or anyone who would bring harm to him. Hopefully it was just a brother or sister playing a little practical joke on him. But Ajani didn’t think that anyone had followed him when he snuck away from his mother’s safe sight. He snorted, making a face as he decided to confront whoever was sneaking around back at the stream. It was rude and pathetic to stalk. Not that he wanted a fight, but still…it was better to just confront your enemy rather than cower in the shadows.

Ajani trotted back towards the stream, but kept his body within the tall grasses. He tried to sneak around and get a better view. The scent was stronger now and all he really needed was a face…Licking his upper lip with a determined expression as he snuck throughout the long grass that grew close to the stream.

Another cub! Alfajiri was absolutely delighted by this discovery, but she froze as Ajani paused, then tried to move with him so that he wouldn't spot her quite as fast. This was... fun! She had never seen a cub that wasn't a brother or sister before, so the curious little leopard was quite fascinated by him. He was a little different from her brothers, too. He was a little bit bigger and he had a funny bit of fuzz on his tail. All in all, she thought he looked pretty bizarre for a leopard.

She crouched in the grass and moved by stretching out her limbs and half-sliding, half-stepping forward. She wasn't sure if she was well hidden that way, but she didn't really care, either. There was no reason for the stranger to hurt her, right? He was just a cub like her.

Oh... he was also getting closer. Her game would be over soon, if she didn't do something. Eventually, the something she decided on was ending the game herself. Alfajiri bounded out from the grass in front of Ajani, laughing.

"Okay you got me! You win! Want to play something else?" She said in a rush, fearlessly standing as tall as her short legs would let her and puffing out her chest. "I'm not very good at hide and seek!"
