The walls in the dorms were a lot thinner than Cass had ever realized. Certainly she'd understood it to some extent, which was why she and Marcus had taken advantage of the fact that for the longest time his room had no neighbors, but just how much a blessing that had been had been made clear by the joy of the return to the dorms coming attached with certain people having to room together.
Now to be fair, she wasn't going to blame them for being too loud. It happened - she was loud and Marcus loved it. That was where she knew the problem would become extended if not addressed: If she'd been able to hear Jordan's room, Jordan, Rep, and Harrison would sure as hell be able to hear hers.
That was why she'd decided to segue into what would possibly be a super-awkward conversation with the room next door. She wasn't angry, nor did she try to look somewhat scarred by the noises through the wall, but when she knocked on Jordan's door, there was quite obviously something on her mind.

Jordan had just finished getting dressed again after his workout and subsequent shower when someone knocked on the door. There was another advantage to having his room back, he reflected; it was much easier for anyone who might be looking for him to find him. Or, for that matter, either of his guys, though neither were in the room right now. He went over to open the door.
It was Cass; that was a mild surprise. They knew each other in passing, were on friendly enough terms, but he couldn't recall ever having had much of a conversation with her. "Hey, Cass," he said. "What's up?"

Cass seemed to pass a glance over his room first, as though checking to see if Harrison and Rep were there too before her eyes went back to Jordan's face, smiling. "Hey Jordan." she greeted. Part of her wanted to say 'Hey, you guys are loud' right off the bat. Another part suggested she make some sort of passive aggressive starter to this discussion.
Fortunately Nicodemus was sitting on top of those two spots, so a more productive conversation would follow.
"After last night, I feel like as a wall-sharing neighbor, we might be due to have a little chat." It was probably quite easy for that to imply heavily what this was about, "for the sake of any noise that comes from either direction. Especially since I'm going to be sharing my room with Marcus." she added. She wasn't completely innocent on this front, after all.

Jordan's eyebrows went up at the wall-sharing comment. Oh. Well. Crap. The rest of the sentence just confirmed what she was talking about. His mind flicked back to the previous night. "Uh," he said. "Sorry. Didn't mean to disturb you."
It was probably a good thing that Cass had decided to address the issue. The crippling embarrassment would probably have been worse if it had been Marcus.

If it had been Marcus the discussion would have probably started off a lot differently too. Several days later, actually, after he'd tried to goad on a competition of sorts. Cass was just preventing embarrassment for herself, really.
"Don't be sorry for it. It happens, and as it stands if it hadn't been me coming to you after last night, it would have been one of you probably coming to us. As it stands, I...I totally know I can't just ask you guys to keep it down or something." she almost TMI'd him with 'because I sure as hell can't'. Nicodemus caught that one for her, however.
"I just think we need to figure out some sort of warning system with our lovely shared wall so the other room can get out of dodge or put on a movie or somethin' so when things are going down for the sake of...extra privacy." she sighed. "Even though just having walls is a nice upgrade in privacy."

Jordan ran a hand through his hair, looking decidedly sheepish. "We can try to keep it down, but, uh, yeah. Good idea. Maybe knocking on the wall or something when things are - er - headed in directions where it might get loud?"
He nodded in agreement to the last sentence. "Not having to listen to everyone else snore is a nice upgrade," he replied. "And having enough room."

Awkward conversation was awkward.
"I think just knocking on the wall would be easiest." Cass agreed. "That's easier to remember and less of a mood-interrupter than some of the alternatives as well." Because it wasn't exactly easy to get out of the swing of things to go..toss a sock on a door handle or something.
"Oh man, I am so sick of hearing everybody snore. I swear, the month in the bunker was a crash course in all sorts of bad sleeping habits that everybody has." Even Cass had some, though she'd mostly cuddled with Marcus the entire time still.

"That'll work, then," Jordan said, relieved that she'd agreed. That meant the only awkward part of this whole business remaining was explaining to Harrison and Rep that there'd been a noise problem. ... He'd better swipe some donuts from the cafeteria or something beforehand.
"That's for sure. And who talks in their sleep, and who kicks all the blankets off into the aisle, and all the other awkward little pieces of personal trivia that nobody really wanted to know in the first place," he said dryly. Natural enough conversation segue into subject change.

Cass would explain to Marcus the result of this little chat as well - albeit, it would be less awkward for her because they hadn't been the noisy ones. For that, she was kind of grateful. It also helped it was a temporary solution until rooms got fixed - or Cass and Marcus moved out. Marcus had been talking about a house lately, after all....
"Who doesn't like wearing pajamas..." Cass added with a small look on her face that said she'd run into that one quite personally, "I think the last month was definitely an overexposure of bonding." she sighed. "Not to say I dislike anybody after it, but I think we all can use the break of not spending all our time together after how much tension built up near the end there."

"Someone was seriously going without pajamas in the bunkroom?" Jordan asked, eyebrows rising incredulously. "That seems - um - risky."
"Yeah." He nodded. "A little space will do everyone's nerves good. And space to keep stuff in," he added, thinking of the various articles that had ended up stashed haphazardly around and under the shared bunk.

"I have seen the a** of somebody that I'm going to hope the experience of has washed their face out of my mind so I don't run into them later and stare at them thinking 'I saw you naked'." It was hard for Cass to understand why they'd done it, perhaps old habits, but still.
"I think some good ol' normalcy after how hectic everything has been is what we all really need, though. Just.... some good uncramped space. Easier to avoid people for the sake of tension." she crossed her arms. "And yeah, I definitely am glad I have my closet in time to be able to put my wedding dress away in it. I would not have felt safe with it in the bunker for too long."

"Some asses are not meant to be seen with the naked eye," Jordan replied gravely. "I have the greatest sympathy for you."
"Normal is relative," he put in, "but yeah. I don't doubt there'll be plenty of hands for the repair and cleaning crews, voluntarily recruited or otherwise. Things ought to be back in working order without too much delay. Knock on wood," he added, and absently rapped the doorframe. "You have your dress already?"

"Oh, this is definitely more normal than sleeping in bunkers, that's for sure." Cass passed a glance down the hallway where some of the wreckage of broken rooms could still be seen. Some of it had been swept up by then, but it was still unfortunate the dorms weren't in as good of working order as they should have been. "I bet there will be some moon building in here for training in the next couple of weeks."
Building walls just kind of seemed to be their thing, after all.
"Yeah, I have my dress already. It's kind of a challenge to hide it from Marcus at the moment when he's sharing a room with me, but I've managed thus far." It didn't matter if he saw her dress before the wedding, as it was her IN the dress that was supposed to be avoided, but......
she wasn't risking any of that wedding juju.

"Probably. I'd be willing to put some time in helping, just to get things back up and running. Thank God the other buildings weren't as badly damaged." Jordan shook his head. "That really could've been bad."
"I wouldn't imagine he'd peek," he nodded. "Congratulations, by the way; I don't think I got to say so to you yet."

"I'd put in time too. I'm practically half a moon as is." she laughed. Oh how often she worked that role. It wasn't bad, though. The suns were capable so she just had to keep enabling them.
"Oh, I know he wouldn't peek on purpose. It's more to keep from any accidental dress-slippage that I hide it." she fidgeted with the ring on her finger anxiously. It was still kind of strange to feel it there, to be honest. Still, the congratulations got a smile. "Thank you. It's...It's kind of exciting. I mean, it's super exciting, but I think just planning everything is draining all my need to explode with excitement all over everybody about it." she laughed a bit.
"Never thought weddings were so hard to get goin'."
