Bolts of brightly colored fabric adorn the walls of the room as the hanging cloth whispers behind you, shutting off this quiet sanctuary from the outside world. Rows upon rows upon rows of delicate materials from far-off lands and distant locations only imaginable to the well-educated, the dreamers, and the travelers who catered to the merchant class fill the room, creating the sense of a world outside this society you were born into; an ethereal place where glorious colors surround and tantalize every sense. Threads delicately spun from luxurious fur and the finest silk shimmer in the delicate lighting as the sweet song of a shamisen fills the air.
Behind the counter, a young Haka sits, demurely reading through a book and drumming his long, black nails along the dark surface. The fabric of his dress is nothing quite extraordinary-- perhaps not wanting to stand out amongst his wares-- but the pattern itself sings of a world apart from this place, the high neckline and delicate ties along his collarbone making his fragility accented in a wholly separate way than the usual kimono. As you enter, he glances up at a Gehaka's whisper of warning, sharp ears perking at the mere hint of a customer.
"Irasshaimase," he murmurs, standing to greet you. "Boku wa Nakamura Maro to mooshimasu. Koko wa boku no kimono-ya de gozaimasu.*"
*Welcome. I am called Nakamura Maro. This is my clothing store. (Very formal.)
