Amphi had two of the best ghoul friends in the world. This was true. She loved Xiu and Lizzy very much but...she didn't want to bother them for this sort of thing. Last year she had had no friends and thus ended up doing the shopping alone for a dress. In fact, Amphi had barely known anyone at the school and had been paired with a random stranger (who she would befriend later) Sheridan to go the dance.
Now she had been properly asked by Thanatos and she...she had friends she could ask for help and the only friends she could think of were her female friends. But She didn't want to bother Xiu and Lizzy and though of another friend she wanted to know more.
Danny.
The fire demon was a odd character but like Amphi, she shared certain qaulities and that made Amphi want to get along with her.
So she found the ghouls dorm room in the demon dorms (thank goodness that Danny lived where Lizzy and Xiu did too) and headed up to the the door and knocked and then waited.....
And waited.....

And Amphi waited.
And waited.
And waited.
Danny wasn't in her room. Actually, she'd just been down at the gym kicking Demi's butt (DEFINITELY WHAT HAPPENED) and was only just now returning to her dorm. She only had on a skimpy pair of shorts and a sports bra (she was working out after all!), but was rather ecstatic to see her friend waiting at her door.
After all, with the massive amounts of heat seeping out, most people didn't visit her dorm- all of her close friends were boils that weren't big fans of sweat, or undead that couldn't do well with heat. "Amphi!" she shouted, even while down the hall, "What're you doing here?"

And waited some more....
When was it okay to leave after knocking?
Amphi bit her lip as she continued to stare at the door, WILLING Danny to come to it....unless like...Danny wasn't in her room.
which...would explain why she wasn't...which would be the LOGICAL Conclusion.
It didn't explain to the mermaid why she was still sitting outside the ghoul's dorm though.
"Danny..." She looked over from the door and then pointed to it....then back to the door and..."I was waiting for you to come out of your room." She stated bluntly before smiling. "Hello Danny, you look....warmer then usual." She wasn't sure how fire demons worked after all and well...False sometimes got warmer so she assumed it was the same thing. "Oh...Came here for something." She had been so distraught over leaving the door or not that...OH! "Um...I have...A favor to ask."

Danny dribbled the casketball that she TOTALLY HAD THE WHOLE TIME, a few times and then pushed open her door, no key used it all. "Uhhhh Amphi. It's never locked," she laughed, and threw the casketball inside, making a loud noise at it hit the back wall. Whoops.
"Whatcha need?" she said, pulling on a jacket. Yup, her outfit was deemed perfectly socially acceptable now.

Amphi stared at the ball as she dribbled it and then opened the door and flushed.
"I wouldn't enter your room without your permission Danny." She looked down before blinking. "Oh!" She almost forgot again!
"I got...asked to prom and was wondering...if you would come to the Maul and help me...pick out a dress?" She smiled shyly..."And if you were going...if you wanted to get a dress too." She pulled out a purse with silver seeds. "My sisters sent me seeds to help pay so..." She nodded shyly.

Prom? Prom? owo
"Hmmm? Oh. Hey prom is coming up huh?" she said, tapping her chin, and grabbing her bag from the floor. She stepped back out into the hall and shut her door. "Okay we can go dress shopping. But I'm not very good at dresses ..."
She perked up a bit as she realized something. "Hey wait!" she said, "Who asked you to prom?"
WAS IT ROCH? PLS SAY ROCH.

"Ah yes! Prom is indeed coming up." The mermaid nodded her head enthusiastically. "Yay! Thank you so much Danny!" Amphi jumped up and down taking the Ghoul's hands in her's and tugging them out of the room.
It was time for the Maul. *A*.
"Hmmm?" She looked back at Danny when the question of her date arose and flushed crimson red. "It was....It was my friend Thanatos the Moirae Reaper...." She ducked her head shyly as she thought of the reaper. Giving her a gift and then requesting her as his date and not even waiting till the day of.
Amphi was sure she was feeling super joyed at the idea. Because....It was Thana and he never asked her ANYTHING. And she wanted....
She flushed at the idea before shaking her head.
"I don't mind the dresses....If you find something that is cute let me know..." Amphi nodded. She didn't know about dresses either, her last gown a gift from her sister.

Danny wrapped an incredibly-too-friendly arm around Amphi and said, "Dawwwwwwww cute." They were already walking out the hall as bffs for life forever. "D'you liiiiiiiike him~~~?" she prodded.
In the same breath, she mused, "Nobody's asked me yet ... I sure hope Rikki does though ..."
No. Really. Get out of town Danny.

Amphi only flushed at the close contact before relaxing. There was no intent other then friendship and thus...it was safe.
"Do I like who?" She looked confused for a minute and then flushed. "Thana?!?!" She waited a minute....her face clearly turning redder the longer she thought about it before whispering. "I like him a lot yes. A good friend...." And then she didn't elaborate on it anymore.
"What?" She said again, looking at Danny and then clasping her hand. "I am sure you'll get asked Danny!" She waited before cocking her head, "But who is Rikki?" She wondered for a brief moment if Danny would've gone with Roch instead.

Oh okay. That was cool, and exactly what Danny asked. Neato neato. Danny wasn't about to prod about romance. It was too ghouly. Blech.
She looked down at the hand that was grabbing hers sort of awkwardly. Was this a normal thing with ghouls? Did they just start grabbing hands randomly? Danny decided it was indeed a normal thing, and grabbed Amphi's wrist dramatically too. "Yeah! Yeah I know I will!!"
Dramallama.
"Rikki is my boilfriend," she said, looking down and sort of smiling, "He um. He's a grim reaper and he's a knob ..." Sparkling eyes desu.

Oh Danny. IF THERE WAS ROMANCE TO PROD THEN YOU SHOULD but alas..... Amphi on the other hand took Thana's words to light after all. Because She was Thana's. But he was not hers. So They were not romantic.
It was normal for the ghouls that Amphi was friends with and so...Got excited like Danny did when she clasped her wrist. "That's good! See No worries then for Danny! We can find you a really pretty dress!" Amphi almost seemed to jump up and down.
And she stopped to make a "o" motion with her mouth at Rikki. "I didn't know you had a boilfriend Danny!" Amphi flushed, "And a Reaper too! Oh, He's what you touch when you want to open a door yes?"
No...God No Amphi. "Is your boilfriend a door?" She asked as they exited the demon dorms and were clear on the path to Amityville Town.

Oh Jack no they had to look at dresses. Danny's mind suddenly flashed between countless memories of her mother playing dress up with her. So many frills. Noooooooooooo.
Amphi was an excellent subject changer though, as Danny was brought back to the la-la land of Rikki. "Mhmm, he's my boilfriend and I love him lots and lots and forever and ever and ever and ever."
Then she stared. Just stared. It wasn't a good idea to put two ditzy ghouls right next to each other. "No ... no he's a reaper. Not a ... I don't touch him to open doors I just open the door myself." WHAT WAS GOING ON. "I mean I still touch him but not to open doors I mean-" 8CCCC "Rikki is a reaper! Not a door!!! MY BOILFRIEND IS NOT A DOOR."
/panic.

Yes. All the dresses! Amphi was excited to go for once, shopping for herself! She would look at all the clothes. ALL OF THEM.
"That's a long time to love someone!" Amphi stared wide eyed. "Forever and ever and ever and ever?" Amphi actually giggled, "It is good that you love the door for a long time! They are quite handy, and open things." She blinked though as Danny stopped talking and then restarted.
A little bit louder and a little bit faster. "He's a reaper yes? A door reaper?" She waited and then her face fell, "So he does not open doors and you don't touch him to open doors?" Her face fell more, "But how do you touch him and then not open doors Danny?" She waited a beat before flushing. "Oh..Oh so you are like that with your boilfriend? You...touch him lots yes?" Way to sound like a pervert Amphi.
"Okay...Okay so Rikki is not a door." OKAY SO NOW THAT WAS CLEARED UP.

Meanwhile, They had diverted from the path because Amphi had been too focused on Rikki not being a door boilfriend. The woods seem to be getting a lot thicker.

"Yes. Not a door," she said confidently. That was one thing she was absolutely sure of. "But I do touch him lots..." she tacked on. Honestly, she didn't mean it that way. She really DID just touch him a lot. And Roch. Yin too. Even Amphi at this point. She was a very touchy kind of person.
My the woods were getting sort of thick. Had the mall always been located in the middle of the woods? Danny couldn't remember.
As long as Amphi didn't think he was a door anymore. "Hey how come you have those weird thingies on the side of your head?" Very subtle Danny.

"Okay, Rikki is really not a door?" She nodded as Danny confirmed it and then flushed before whispering, "Do Boilfriends and Ghoulfriends touch each other a lot Danny?" Her blushed seemed to deepen. "Is it...safe to touch a lot?"
She frowned though as it seemed to get darker on their way to the Maul. Was night falling in? Or was it the canopy of the tree's overhead?
"Weird...things on my head?" She instinctlivly touched her ears in case she had something on them and then smiled as she heard what Danny meant. She meant her actual ear fins!
"Ah! These are my ear fins! They help me hear things....and then...They are better underwater because they pick up ultra high pitched sounds from the sea animals when we talk." So Amphi knew about sounds and languages of the sea but couldn't tell a Knob Reaper was not a Door Reaper. "Actually, they can pick up sounds from MILES away! I can often hear my sisters from far away under the sea. But on land they are not so strong." She nodded.
But since they were playing the let's ask about each other game, Amphi pointed to Danny's tail. There was a bright flame that always seemed to stay lit.
"Does your tail always stay lit like that? Is it cause your a fire demon? What about the horns on your head, how come they glow at the end of them? Do they burn if you touch them?"
