When Before climbed into the golem pod, he was torn. Half of him wanted a specific combination, if only because he'd gotten used to maneuvering it and such understood the limitations better. Also he finally came up with a decent name for her. The other half of him wanted a completely different combination because, well, he didn't want to be a girl this time around.
Unfortunately, neither half got what they wanted. Just some of it. Because when Before opened his eyes, he had the distinct awareness his golem was missing something. Several somethings that is. Oh sure it was still a girl (A ghoul according to Vanna) and he was still tiny. Except instead of a demonic little imp, he was, "Oh zzzznap!" he buzzed, discovering he was now a tiny female flyman OAO
The wings on his back hummed and flapped uselessly as he wove along the ground on tiny feet. s**t, s**t, s**t, shiiiiiiiit of all the shitty, ******** luck whyyyyyy? ;A; As he continued to mentally flail, his disorientation had him colliding with one of the students.

Huni Pi What. Is. THIS. Is it... a POST??!??!???!?!??!.1.11.1/1/1/1.110100010011100000110101  Though the process of advancing from Y1 to Y2 in theory was liberating, and indeed it was when Pepin passed her exam with Malcom just a week before, the physical upgrade between was an intensive exchange of FEAR. In fact walking out of it (that is logging out of her dorm laptop one evening) created a diabolical mess of glitching and pixelation that made it literally impossible to decipher Pepin's form until a week later she was 'born again.' Really, she just finally controlled the flurry of data making her body so distorted. What it resulted in was an incredible combination of LED FEAR and more violent chunks fraying out of her body every now and then.
Hovering down the school hall as a 'new ghoul', Pepin lifted herself up to darker corners of the creaking school and worked her way out into the fresh outdoors to see should any changes in her environment cause her new clothes to... react consequentially...
Her whimsical outlook was still there. Everything that would be happening to Amityville in the months to follow would never haunt her. She would never experience first hand what horrible things would happen to students caught by hunters- everything would be neglected when the time came. Being at the right place, at the right time, and promptly freezing up would save her any agony and torment by hunters like Otto or Clerise- though something about the latter was quite arousing. No, instead she would be plagued by the idea that her "best friend" was a
total
Lie.
As a ghoul with a history of trusting the wrong people to be her friends before one would think she'd learned her lesson. But it seemed that making friends with the enemy was almost part of her destiny at this point. Luckily... there was always that imp girl to return again and hug close to her bossom. Luckily...

The hunter-in-golem's-clothing felt himself smack into something decidedly solid, then was promptly ricocheted onto his a** xAx!!!! He lay on the ground for a second, maybe two, before shakily sitting up, gossamer wings now erratically flapping in dismay. "Heeeeey," he began in that falsetto-whine of his, "That huuuuuurt." His proboscis-like mouth curled into a frown as he set his multifaceted eyes onto whoever it was he ran into.
If multifaceted eyes were capable of growing saucer-wide, Before's definitely would have upon seeing the ghoul. He recognized her! Was... was she that Halloweener that let him check if her boobs pixelatted too? eek She... looked different but maybe it was her and she got an upgrade? Could she get an upgrade? surprised !!!!
"HEEEEEEEEEEEEEY!!!! I THINK I KNOW YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!" he declared in his tiny female flyman form, pointing at her while his wings beat excitedly in that frequency most found irritable.Pepzilla AND TEN MILLION YEARS LATER~

Luckily this upgrade didn't come with a memory wipe for as soon as Pepin felt this organic object brush into her she was able to identify her as the imp ghoul she'd made such uh.. interesting acquaintances with. Her shrill voice was met with one hollow and mechanical, Pepin's sheer joy less obvious in her words, "yyyyYYYYYEEEEEeeEEEEsss!"
Carefully the ghoul reached out to her with her clawed digits (BA DUM PSH) and smiled with a slowly turning head. From out of the dark rings around her eyes little lights spread to her cheeks. Their glow radiated with her excitement. "I have not s-s- seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-" her voice screeched into its usual jittering, "eeeeeen you in a while. What br-br-ings you out are you en- roooooooooolled at Amityville now?"

Before's initial reaction at this chance encounter was, to put it mildly, utter Glee (who knows, he might even break out into song). "Hi! Hi! Hi hiiiiiiiii~!!!!!" he squealed in that falsetto of his, completely forgetting the fact that his golem, while tiny and female like his earlier two test-drives, was not an imp, nor a demon. "No, no, not enrolled, juzzzt looking~ thinking maybe thizzz izzz the plazzze~" What can he say, he was sorta kinda maybe hoping to become better acquainted with one of the Halloweeners who wasn't out to punch, maim, gnash, or just plain old hurt him. He reached out to shake the clawed hand with both of his, the golem's flywings buzzing excitedly out of an instinctive reaction to his emotions.
It took the mental nudging of his weapon to remind him (on top of the humming from his wings) that he was actually supposed to be someone else DDDD8 Oh ********, crap, wait, no nononono, can't screw this up!
It took a great deal of quick thinking on Vanna's part to prompt Before in making a clarification, "How'd you recognizzze me? Oh! Mebbe Tif's impy aura's still on me~?" He silently prayed the ghost-girl would believe him.

It seemed all the same to Pepin as she stared at Before with a doe-eyed expression. It looked like the same imp! Might as well have been. In her brain she automatically associated the smell and sound this creature had to the imp ghoul she'd met. Whether they were different from Tif was irrelevant to her. Finally though she made an effort to ease the awkwardness. (Awkward? For her? Hah!)
"SO. How have YALL-" she winked, "BEEN??" She exclaimed so friendly like.
"We should g-ggggggggggggggggggggggo- find Tif come on!" Abruptly, the glitch yanked the golem by the little arm and whipped towards the opposite direction.

Multifaceted eyes stared up at the ghoul expectantly, tiny legs ready to make a break for it in case she... wait... O.O she believed him? She believed him!!!! 8DDDDD Oh happy daaaay~ Before kept himself from sighing in relief, not too difficult given the sudden yank from the ghost girl.
"Oooohkaaaayzzz~" Before buzzed, offering no resistance. "I'm okay I guezzz, better now though~" ^w^ "You? You look different~ waaaay cooler." And he indeed thought Pepin had a major level up in the coolness factor. He already thought her one of the few (sometimes only) awesome student in this world but now? Wowza! 8D
Vanna frowned at the mental gushing her partner was making. The devil shield may or may not have been jealous.

Unaware (and probably uncaring)ly, Pepin hooked arms with the golem ready to show her world to a hunter. Hunters, Halloween? What real difference did it make. Like between Tif and this... familiar creature, Pepin was entirely naive. Hunters didn't do anything to her except that one Otto kid that bullied her to a flaccid pulp. But did she identify his coat with evil? Not necessarily, the coat meant people like.. Clerise! But there was that one time she'd watched the Imp ghoul as they were attacked by nets.
Those DAMN nets.
"NO NETS-" she hissed out loud, disregarding the compliment. ".... c:" smiling she cocked her head to the side. "Hey lets go to the MA-MA-MA-MAUL. Tif might be there COME ON LETS GO LETS GO-"
"LETS GO" she ended firmly.

Nets? What nets? Oh. Oh! The trap guns? No, no, Pepin needn't worry about that as far as Before was concerned. Aim-wise and target-wise, Before knew better than to try and capture the ghost girl. Besides, being arm-in-arm (okay so he may have been dangling just a tad) like this? It was definitely not bad. Better than not bad, nice even!
"Mall? Ooooh yezzz pleazzze~" his golem's head bobbed excitedly. Shopping in Halloween? Should be interesting to say the least. "Ah! B-but, ghost-friend, iun have money," OnO seriously, Before wasn't even aware of the currency used in Halloween. Last time he'd spent anything, it was at that festival with the booths and the fish and getting reaaaaally beat up in the process xnx
It was not a pleasant memory for him. "My uh, hive-momzzz limited my allowance." s**t, did they even have an allowance in Halloween? Did they use something like, iunno, body parts as currency?
Vanna was quick to assure him they used pumpkin seeds and that body parts were seen as possible bartering material depending on the store the ghost-ghoul took them to.

Pepin narrowed her eyes. "You think I have money?" She then snickered deviously. "I don't use money silly. Why should I when I can..." she trailed off still grinning. Well when they got to the maul, he'd see.
"Your hive momzz? You have lots of momz? HOW NEATO!" The ghost ghoul was hovering fast through Halloween town towards the maul with a fellow flyer in hand. Like riding an airport escalator, they arrived smoothly outside the hustle and bustle of the shopping center. Looking up Pepin finally let go of Before and put her hands on her hips. "What's your favorite store? We could start there and make our way around!"

"No money either?" OnO oh well, window shopping isn't always bad! Besides, it'll give him an idea of the culture of the place because you can tell so much about a location based on the wares for sale. "It'zzz fine~ Tiff likezzz looking juzzzt fine~!"
When they arrived, Before was practically breathless from giddy anticipation because, holy s**t this place looked FANTASTIC and so much ******** fun to explore and WHY DIDN'T HE DO THIS SOOOOONER? *0*!!!! "Oh yezzz!!! More than one mommy~ One teachezzz me to make foodzzz, the other teachezzz me to kill zzztuff for foodzzz!" Before sounded way too chipper about it, then again, it seemed appropriate given his brief description of two certain Hunters back in Deus. "Clothezzz!!!" he declared, doing a little twirl to emphasize his own golem's outfit. Now that he thought about it, whoever came up with the little low-cut back to accommodate his wings was a genius!

"They even. Have. A Scarecade-" Pepin whispered loudly and longingly as Before spoke then swung her head around suddenly. "NO WAY THATS SO COOL-You know, my host family, the Screechers, they have so many other foster kids like me that used to help upkeep the house and they would teach too! Not how to kill stuff for food though," she snorted. "We don't really kill things for food I don't think-" she tapped her chin.
But easily distracted enough, Pepin chimed up at the idea of clothes shopping with Before and once again grabbed him by the arm and floated through the door- which she forgot that he was not a ghost like she...

She had a host family? Huh, all this time, Before just assumed when a ghost-mommy and a ghost-daddy loved each other they went to the pumpkin patch to make ghost-babies Scarelings. He hadn't always been this interested in the creatures they as Hunters were supposed to show who's boss but this was pretty damn neat! He was going to have a lot to write in his report, which was totes a-ok with him!
He began babbling about how lucky she was that she didn't need food when he found himself picked up again and -SLAM- slowly sliding down the surface of the door. xAx

Before first had to peel himself off the door, ignored the odd sensation that he somehow belonged pressed up against a smooth surface, watching the world with multifaceted eyes and zipping away just as something came dangerously close to squishing him.
But then he remembered this was just a golem and he was human and that it hurt ;n; He was on his back, still trying to rub the stinging sensation away when Pepin came back to retrieve him. TTnTT "Zzz-zzzorry, I think the door clozzzed in on me cuzzz I'm too tiny."
He got back up and tried the door again.
