Shaheen strode through the lost clans reserve, her face impassive as she took in her surroundings. Many of the clansmen/women were bustling about, building, training, cleaning, going about their daily business, and Shaheen looked like she was on a mission all her own as her long and powerful legs carried her across the grounds towards where the conquest horsemen had set up camp. Her hair was tied back in a ponytail that left her face completely bare, the mass of blonde curls mixed with the few streaks of grey resting between her shoulder blades but above her wings, which sprouted out just a little up from the center of her back. In her hands she appeared to be clutching some type of brown material, though on closer inspection one might notice that it was stained red with blood. Her clothes were about par for the course with Shaheen, except her top....her top just appeared to be some rag she might have picked up off of the ground, hastily tied into place behind her back and honestly, was only just barely covering what needed to be covered.

And that was why she was here, going to an area that she might have otherwise avoided. It wasn't that she didn't like the horsemen of conquest. War and Conquest really went hand in hand, did it not? It was more that she found many of them to be long suffering and haughty and just...really full of themselves! Still, they seemed to really like their clothing, and she could only assume that somebody amongst them might even enjoy making clothing. Or fixing clothing. Either one would work for her cause.

And so, when she spotted a horseman who was...yes, wearing an awful lot of fancy clothing, to the point where he even had some fluffy...thing...wrapped around his shoulders and....oh wow those were some really long sleeves...

Shaking her head out of her sudden distraction, she headed in the direction of that particular horsemen, reaching out boldly to tap him on the shoulder once she was near with a loud, "Excuse me?"

Zhiqiang was bored.

Of course, this was not a new occurrence--the conquest horseman's attention span was not the best when it came to anything but training or sewing. Though he knew that he should have been helping the other clansmen with the building and cleaning, he simply could not bring himself to do so. It wasn't as if he were doing anything important either--he was simply...standing there, his expression dull. Where was Jay, he wondered? He'd even settle for bothering Senga, but he wasn't sure where the war horseman was right now either.

Zhi was ready to flop facedown on the ground out of boredom. Someone come and amuse him, please.

Fortunately--and very unexpectedly--his pleas were answered. When he felt someone tap him on the shoulder, he immediately perked up, whirling around to face the stranger. He hardly even bothered to take in the horsewoman's appearance before beaming at her, throwing his arms up in the air. He may or may not have nearly whipped the poor horsewoman with his excessively long sleeves in the process.

(☉▽☉)/ Someone to bother! He stared at the clanswoman--she was probably from War, wasn't she?--with his arms still held up in the air. "Hey there! Are you bored too?" There was a pause, and then the smile from his face suddenly dropped as something dawned on him. Slowly--and almost warily--he lowered his arms and took a step back. "...Or are you here to make me work on building stuff like the others?" He already had his arms and legs poised for running as he spoke, ready to make a quick getaway if this lady tried to drag him into working.

As the horseman whirled around, Shaheen quickly flinched back, as his sleeves whipped around and nearly slapped her in the face. Really, what was the practical use of sleeves like that, she wondered, as she stared with amber eyes at the horseman. And continued to stare at him as he stood there with his arms lifted in the air, blinking once, ever so slowly, before staring some more.

She was highly considering turning around and walking away to find somebody else who might be able to help her.

Oh s**t, it was talking to her! Shaheen all of a sudden just came back to life, "Yes--I mean, No! I'm not bored I'm just---" Already he was interrupting her, and she had to patiently stop to listen to the rest of what he had to say, before starting again, slowly and carefully as thought speaking to a young child. He looked like he might run away at any given second, and she didn't wish to spook him, after all!

"I'm not here to make you do any work. I'm simply looking for somebody who might be able to help me." She shifted the torn and bloodied top she was holding into one hand and held it out towards him. "I need somebody who might be able to fix this, or make me a new one similar to it. It got wrecked during a spar. Do you know of anybody who might be able to do this for me?" She gestured to her chest with her free hand now, drawing attention to the fact that what she was currently wearing was barely covering her at all.

"While what I have on now is certainly not hindering me in anyway, I've been told that it might be considered...inappropriate?" This was a word that Shaheen was obviously unaccustomed to. She could walk around stark naked and it wouldn't bother her, but she was informed that it would quite possibly bother many others, or leave a wrong impression.

Still posed to run, Zhiqiang's eyes narrowed slightly as his gaze turned calculating. "So you're not here to make me do work? Are you sure?" Slowly--very, very slowly--he lowered his arms and turned back to face her. When she held out the torn top, he stared at it blankly, head cocked to the side. For a moment, it seemed as if he didn't understand...

...At least, until he snatched it out of her hands and held it out with a loud, "HMMMM". "Wow, you really messed this up!" He exclaimed, turning it this way and that as he took in the various tears and bloodstains. Despite the strange manner with which he spoke, acted and...er, did everything, he did seem to be looking over the article of clothing rather intently.

After a moment of silence, he grinned, swinging the top around in his hand cheerfully. "Yeah, no problem! I can fix this if you give me a little bit." Despite his appearance, the conquest horseman actually had a surprising knack for sewing. Of course, while he did enjoy his hobby to some extent, the only reason he was offering his services right now was so that he would have an excuse if anyone asked him why he wasn't working. He was working! ...Just not on what he was supposed to be doing, but hell.

When Shaheen mentioned how someone had told her attire would have been inappropriate, Zhiqiang stared at her thoughtfully. After a moment passed, he shook out her torn top again and frowned. "...Maybe I should make it longer...and give it some cool, floppy sleeves like mine..."

"Yes I am very sure." She nodded, possibly looking a little bit puzzled. Did she not just explain to him that she would not be telling him to go to work? She supposed that since she was a chieftain, she could maybe tell him what to do, but somehow she just wasn't sure how well that would go down in the lost clans. What kind of hierarchy was there, now? Her fellow war members still seemed to have respect for her, but none of these other clans really knew who she was.

But she guessed he must have finally believed her, because he was suddenly pulling the tattered and bloody piece of clothing away from her, inspecting it loudly. "I didn't. Shik did." That probably explained everything, right? "He tore through it with his claws." There, better. She didn't add on that it was during a spar, because what else would they be doing that he might have torn her top nearly off for?

She had apparently hit the jackpot, as the horseman she had come across seemed to be some type of seamstress, as he proclaimed that he could fix it himself. "Is there anything you might need to be able to do so? I know supplies can be scarce at the mom---" Cut off, her eyes widened. "No no, I like it the length it is. No sleeves, NO! They would be too cumbersome during battle." She hoped he was listening, he seemed rather...flighty.

She very spontaneously decided it might be best if she accompanied him to make sure he did not make any unnecessary adjustments or additions to her clothing. Attempting to regain some composure, she asked. "May I be allowed to watch you while you work? Maybe you can teach me how to do basic mending in case something like this should happen again."

There, that would do, surely.

While Zhiqiang had absolutely no idea who this "Shik" person was, he clucked his tongue disapprovingly. "Kids these days," He sighed, acting as if he were that much older than Shaheen, "You guys just get too rowdy when you play, don't you?" Was he...was he suggesting that this shirt had been torn up during...

...

The Conquest horseman cackled merrily.

His glee seemed to fade a little when his suggestions were rejected. The frown deepened each time she said no, and by the time she was done speaking, he was giving her these eyes. The dark, wide eyes read of disappointment, but considering that it was Zhiqiang making this expression, it would probably more awkward and strange than anything. He was definitely not very cute or pitiable, at least.

Fortunately, he seemed to get over it quickly enough, shaking the garment out again with a bright grin. "Fine, fine! And yes, you may watch! Patching this up really shouldn't be so hard, so I'm sure you could do it yourself eventually if you learned the basics." And then, without a word, he suddenly plopped down onto the ground, rooting around in his clothes until he found the small sewing kit that he usually kept on himself. This would do for the smaller holes.

"You War clanspeople sure dress in very little, don't you?" He mused, pulling out a needle from the kit, "This is probably smaller than one of my undergarments."

"Playing is for children." She frowned, "What we did together was not something children do, not until they are older and have honed more advanced skills." She obviously was not understanding what the other horseman was insinuating, and was quite possibly just making it worse, depending on how he took what she had just said.

As for being a bit rowdy...well, that part might have at least been true, so she let it slide.

The horseman was making a strange face now, one that made her feel slightly uneasy. What..what was he doing? Was he trying to hypnotize her? For some reason she could not look away, and indeed, leaned forward, reaching out as though she might poke him in the eye to see if it would change his expression, before he suddenly changed it for himself, and she let her arm fall back down to her side, her eyebrows rising at his abrupt change. He was collapsing onto the ground now, and Shaheen did the same, though in a much more graceful fashion. She scooted up next to him, leaning over his shoulder to watch what it was that he would be doing, he feet tucking up beneath her, the feathers of her wings rustling behind her in the breeze.

"We dress in what is practical." She smirked when she said it, giving his own outfit another long, lingering look. As she gave his robes a once over, she thought about how very much it looked as though he was wearing a dress.

That brought up another thought, one that she felt she aught to voice, especially if this...wait, what was his name? Well, anyways, especially if he was one who liked to sew things.

"Have you ever heard of this...'prom'?" She inquired, thinking back to a conversation she'd had after her spar with Shik.

(ʘ‿ʘ)

Zhiqiang said nothing at Shaheen's explanation. No, he merely stood there, that stupid, knowing smile on his face. He--was he even nodding a little? The look on his face could roughly be translated to, "uh huh, I know exactly what you two were doing". However, aside of voicing this aloud, when he finally spoke, he only said, "Try to be less rowdy next time then. Also, I hope you're using protection."

Because clearly it was his business, even if that was what they had been doing.

"Practical? What if your shirt flips up and you flash the Hunters while trying to attack them?" Surprisingly enough, Zhiqiang sounded...genuinely curious. There was no sarcasm in his voice at all, and the look that he gave her indicated that he did expect a serious answer from her. However, he turned away a moment later to focus at the task at hand (or rather, the task in his hands). Pulling out a needle from his kit, Zhiqiang eyed the top and withdrew a spool of thread with a color that matched. He stuck his tongue out of the corner of his mouth, squinting in deep concentration as he struggled to slip the thread through the needle. Careful...careful...

He cackled gleefully when the thread went through, immediately capturing it before it could slip out. Tying a knot at the end, he proceeded to stitch up the smallest hole at lightning pace, weaving the needle in and out of the cloth. Though his hands were moving quickly, the horseman himself seemed rather calm and relaxed, even going so far as to look at the war horsewoman when she asked him about prom. His hands, on the other hand, were still working away at stitching the holes closed.

"Oh, yes, I heard about that. Some kind of...dance or something silly that those kids are doing, right?"

Another look. Another un-nerving, almost disturbing look that made Shaheen pause completely to just stare back at him, blinking slowly. Protection? What kind of weakling would spar with armor and shields? She about opened her mouth to say that protection was also for children but she stopped herself, shrugged it off, and was ready to move on as soon as he moved on to the next subject.

"That has..never happened before I must say. And if it did, what of it? I could fight naked just as well as I could with clothing." She actually didn't really understand why clothes were necessary at all, though oddly she didn't mind adorning her own with beads or polished stones or carved bones. She liked the sound they made sometimes as they clacked together when she was in the heat of battle. "Besides it might be a distraction for them and then I would have the advantage!" She concluded, a large, cocky grin spreading across her face.

She began watching him sew, and was actually surprised to see that he was fairly good at it. She was starting to wonder if this was going to turn into some kind of a hoax.

"Yes, very silly indeed. I have heard talk of some who are going with students. Appalling, really. Still, I have decided to attend as well. Mostly out of curiosity..." Though it was funny that she held such disdain towards those who were planning to go when she herself was going to do the same. Somebody was obviously a bit of a hypocrite. Now to get to the point.

"I need a dress."

Zhiqiang wasn't sure whether or not he should be impressed by Shaheen's declaration. On one hand, even he wouldn't dare run around naked (which was, considering that this was Zhiqiang, rather surprising), but on the other hand...

He paused from his sewing to wave the needle in the horsewoman's direction, her expression disapproving. "Tsktsk! The body is a sacred thing! You shouldn't show it off to whoever, especially not a Hunter!" His eyes seem to flash briefly at the mention of the humans who had taken their home, but it passed almost as quickly as it came. Slowly, the strange, unnervingly cheerful grin made its way back to his face as he gave the needle another wave in Shaheen's direction.

"After all, you should only show it to this Shik-fellow."

And with a cackle, he dropped the subject at that. His gaze focused back on his work, though he did nod every so often to indicate that he was listening. He couldn't claim to be entirely surprised that some people were going with students--if had yet to harass take a liking to any students, but it was not impossible--but what did surprise him was the mention of a dress. He whipped his head up and stared at her. Then he grinned, his face suddenly expectant.

"Can it have super long sleeves!?" Forget the fact he was holding a needle in one hand and a shirt in the other--the horseman immediately lifted both arms and began to flail in excitement.

Shaheen may have muttered something about having the hunters dead or at the very least, their eyes gouged out before they could lay their gaze upon her, clothed or otherwise, when she was cut off by a strange declaration by the conquest horsemen.

"Shik?" She said, genuinely confused now. She didn't like being made to feel stupid, and that's what was happening. She gave Zhi a cold glare. "If you have something to say, just say it. No riddles." He wasn't actually speaking in riddles, but Shaheen..ya, Shaheen was just dumb enough to say so.

But all of that was forgotten at the odd display the other horseman was putting on. Her eyes widened in alarm as her first thought was that he might be having some kind of seizure, before she realized that he was still talking, and that possibly...just possibly..he was excited about making her a dress?

"Uhhhh, I was actually thinking of something more like what I already wear except more...dress like?" She really knew nothing about fashion, not a thing.
"OH, and in red if possible." She smirked once again, this time because she had just thought of something that to her was remarkably clever.

Kaiyumi
sorry, crappy quick post D:
PostPosted: Sat Jun 16, 2012 8:22 pm

"Who's talking in riddles?" Zhiqiang returned her cold glare with a bright and cheerful grin, "I'm just certain that Shik wouldn't be happy if you ran around naked and showed yourself off to everyone. Especially not the enemy." Again, not that this was any of his business. Apparently Zhiqiang just liked being nosy.

He drooped again when it became clear that something with long sleeves was a no-go, but he recovered fairly quickly, his face thoughtful as he looked her up and down. "You're tall, so it might take a lot of fabric," He mused, looking and sounding rather...sane, for once, "But it's doable. And not as expensive, if you want something short." Which was probably what she wanted. From her reactions to everything so far, it was pretty clear that she wasn't the type of person who would ever be caught dead in Conquest robes or clothing.

"And this issssss...done!" The horseman suddenly declared, tying a knot to finish up his stitching. He held it up in front of himself, and then made a face, "Or at least, the holes are patched up. If you want me to make this shirt more like a shirt than and undergarment though..."

Shaheen scoffed to herself inwardly. Why would Shik care if she ran around in the nude? He likely wouldn't even notice. And if he did notice, and did care enough to reprimend her for it, he'd be getting a taste of the heel end of her foot to his stupid, stoic face. She couldn't even figure out why they were still discussing the other former war horseman, and so this time she kept her mouth shut, in hopes that they could move on to something else.

"Somethinig short will do me just fine." Smiling away with her usual self satisfied look, as though she felt like she had just won an argument of some kind. Though even she had to admit that the conquest robes were at least interesting, and many were appealing to the eye, it just was not practical. An attack could come at any given moment, and it would not do to have her abilities hampered by sleeves that might get tangled up in her feet!

"And in two pieces, I think." Much like the outfit that she was already wearing, a top that barely concealed her and a bottom that did about the same. Though she wouldn't mind, since it was meant to be a dress, after all, if it were just a tad bit longer then what she normally wore, and she said as much just before Zhi was holding her top up for inspection.

"It is fine." She said rather hurriedly, even as she began untying the top she was currently wearing from behind her back, just abover her wings, and slipping out of it to hold out a hand towards the repaired top he held. He could sit there and talk about making alterations or adjustments to her clothing all he wanted, but if he didn't want a topless woman sitting in front of him all day he would have to hand over her shirt rather quickly.

Wait...had they just had a conversation about nudity? She shrugged that off mentally. "I guess you will need to take my measurements?" She said, calmly, as though not even caring about the current situation in the slightest (probably because she didn't).

"Short, two pieces," Zhi noted aloud, his tone betraying his disappointment. He was not surprised--oh, not in the least--but that didn't mean that he hadn't hoped that the war horsewoman would leave him to his own devices when it came to making. Sighing, he nodded his head obediently. "Got it."

...Was that a glint in his eyes?

If there had been such a thing, it disappeared almost as soon as it appeared. The horseman was the perfect picture of innocence as he smiled at Shaheen. That is, until she took her shirt off--then he just gaped at her.

( ☉△☉)

"YOU'RE INDECENT," He screeched, throwing his hands up and over his eyes like a child, "I WILL NOT TAKE YOUR MEASUREMENTS--OR EVEN LOOK AT YOU--UNTIL YOU ARE COVERED UPaksdfjkashdfkadsf." And then his words dissolved into panicked gibberish. He flung the repaired shirt in what was hopefully her general direction.

Shaheen gave pause, her head cocking to one side as though she was thinking about something."If it makes you feel better, one piece will also be acceptable, but it will have to be cut quite low in the back." She gestured towards her wings to emphasize this fact, just before he began screeching at the top of his lungs, likely causing everyone in the near vicinity to turn and stare at what was occurring.

And then Shaheen did something that she rarely did. She laughed. She genuinely laughed and reached out a hand, having to lunge and stretch to the side to grab ahold of her flung garment, taking a dive into the dirt with her shirt clutched in hand. But still she laughed. He was just too amusing with his strange antics, and she could not contain it any longer!

"I am sorry." She finally managed to choke out between gales of laughter. "Just one moment and I will be covered again." She wasn't even sure he could hear her over his own gibbered exclamations, but she sat up anyways, and slipped the top down over her head, pulling it into place and inspecting the horseman's handy work. It was still stained with blood, but perhaps somebody from famine could help her out with that. They were always making such odd potions.

Reaching out towards Zhi with two hands, she began to pry his hands off of his face. "It's okay, I am...decent, now." She was still having trouble repressing that laughter, and once he would look at her again he would see perhaps the largest smile spread across Shaheen's face, even if it did still somehow look arrogant and condescending.

"You are...a very strange and unique man. But still, you did a good job, and I thank you for your service." She was really warming up to him, and was already wondering what it might be like to do battle against somebody like him. Oh how amusing it would be!

"Now then. You need my measurements? I promise I will keep my clothes on."
