B. You step forward tentatively, perhaps gently announcing your presence, wary of the situation.
I stumbled yet again over something I was unable to see. It was dark and there were many things that one could trip over on the forest floor. And many low branches that you could hit your head on if you were paying too much attention to your feet.
It was as I was taking a break, bruised from head to toe, that I saw her. Pale and almost gleaming in the darkness. At first I thought it was a mirage, that my eyes were so desperate for something to see in this darkness besides glowing fungus that I was dreaming.
But this was real; she was real. I started to move forward and a branch snapped under my foot. I jumped, eyes widening as the woman appeared to be armed with some sort of weapon.
"Sorry, sorry. It's just me. I... well, I'm lost and I was hoping maybe you could help me..." I slowly made my way forward, my hands raised to roughly shoulder level and my hands open, palms facing out, clearly unarmed.

B. You step forward tentatively, perhaps gently announcing your presence, wary of the situation.
I am not sure how I got so lost, the forest didn't seem so dangerous from the outside, but now as I twist and turn unsure where I am going or how to get home....it was a lot more ominous. Being that I am normally timid and often easily frightened, what possessed me to take that dare? I suppose I wanted to prove that I wasn't scared of the forest...and its bugs. How foolish of me.
How I craved to be back with them, sure I would have to bare their jeers, and snide comments, be forever labeled as a lower life form only useful for the butt end of jokes....but at least I wouldn't be here. People I can handle, their harsh comments I can brush aside. Bugs? They scare me witless.
Strange sounds make me jump, at one point I can't stand my fear any longer and finding a recess in a tree as I try to calm myself and rest. When did my breathing get so loud? Even to my own ears I felt like I would bring the horde of bugs to me, I cover my mouth in an attempt to stifle the sound.
My moment of solitude is brief as a new sound ...a voice startles me. Luckily my mouth is already covered to prevent myself from giving a cry or alarm. The last thing I needed was to give away my hiding place.
There were already so many large disturbing bugs in this forest, I had seen a few of them silhouetted against the dim glow that the fungi in the forest give off. As I floundered deeper and deeper and now stuck in a tree, I have to wonder if I had imagined that voice....if so then I didn't want to invite some of those monster bugs my way.
As my eyes strain in the dim lighting, I see a woman, or is she a goddess? Her skin so pale and luminous, a beacon of hope in this miserable place. I wish to run to her, but I am uncertain of what I see. Finally I am forced to move, something glowing had definitely just scooted past my feet and I was going to choose the likely imagined woman over the wriggling worm.
Curse my luck as I step on a branch, you could almost feel my cringe as I alert the woman to my presence and cause her to whirl and face my direction. I realize she cannot see me yet and so with hands raised I offer surrender.
"S..sorry..." I start off stuttering, cursing my lack of confidence speaking to a woman. "I was..w..wondering if you..k..knew the way out..of here?" I have to swallow a cry of surprise as a glowing worm scuttles past me again. How is it these things always come out of no where? THEY GLOW, and in a dark forest you'd have to be blind to not notice them.

A. ”A friend!” You jump forward, hands raised to show you mean no harm, eager to find about more about what those insects are up to.
"Forgive my rather abrupt intrusion. I was merely wandering the forest for a calm evening when I noticed you and the strange bugs you were following. You wouldn't perhaps be able to tell me more about those fascinating creatures?" Pointing towards the glowing lines that had been wriggling across the soil Ritsa continued. "You see I'm also sort of a collector myself in bugs, mostly moths and butterflies really but..." pausing for a moment hopping the woman before her would relax she tilted her head with a smile.
It was obvious to her the woman didn't seem to trust her right away though as much as she wanted to disprove such thoughts, she was quickly aware that though she might think the woman didn't see her as menacing. There was always going to be the off chance that due to whatever had happened she may still view her as a shady individual.

B. You step forward tentatively, perhaps gently announcing your presence, wary of the situation. "I'm sorry if I disturbed you. I didn't mean to," Eletha responded quietly as she stepped fully into the opening, overly aware of the knives currently strapped to her thighs. Her fingers twitched toward her blades, preparing for the worst, just in case the woman turned out to be not so friendly. For all Eletha knew she was some forest witch, a loner hermit, half crazed from solitude and all of these damnable bugs. Those vials in themselves said more than her words did. She'd never seen anything of their like and couldn't even begin to imagine what they were, though from the way she was holding them she could only assume they were a weapon of some kind.
Her bright green eyes held the strange woman's for a second longer before going back to her body, watching her muscles for any sign of an attack. You can never be too careful in these jungles, especially one such as these. She felt the need to explain herself more so she looked less questionable so deep in the forest. "I...," she took a deep breath before just spitting it out, a pained and embarassed expression on her face. "I'm lost. I have no idea where I am, and I was hoping maybe you could point me in the right direction."
Eletha lost focus for a moment as a blush rippled across her pale skin, making her practically glow. She hated admitting to weakness, especially to a stranger. Youthfulness could be so frustrating.

C. You remain silent, hidden in the shadows, watching the young, Shifter woman
Nadhiri ran a finger along the shaft of the spear feeling the comforting wood beneath her fingers. The butt of the spear had come to rest in the leaf litter and the young Alkidike scowled at the scene ahead. She had been doing her best not to make a sound, but obviously she still needed practice in stalking, and she had been caught out.
The Shifter’s woman’s challenge rang out but Nadhiri did not respond. She remained quit, holding as still as she could and letting the thick shadows keep her hidden. Her expression was determined and suspicious. She would, perhaps, reveal herself in time, but right now, she wanted to keep her distance and see what the other female was up.

So the other had caught her, Moraika scowled in the dark. If she didn’t get out the other would certainly come looking for her with her vial and who knew what was inside. Lifting her arms up in the air she stepped out from her hidden spot into view so the other woman could see her, but Mora kept her distance. You just never knew what strangers could do, especially if this one had been hiding as well. “I didn’t mean to catch you off guard.” She said quietly, eyes trained on the stranger.
It was then Moraika silently cursed herself for getting lost from her friends. They’d come out hoping to simply get away from home for a little bit, just to get a small bit of freedom. Mora would not be forgetting this lesson soon, it was her own fault for getting into this mess and she was going to have to get herself out of it. Her friends would be making fun of her for a very long time after this; she stifled a dark laughter that was bubbling just below the surface.
Whatever the girl had been looking at was still moving a little ways in front of them; Moraika shifted her gaze ever so slightly to give them a quick peek. They reminded her of Illi, the worm like creatures she’d heard about. Though these ones seemed to be leaving behind some sort of colorful thing behind, though Mora had never seen Illi, she too thought it strange. Her eyes moved back to the stranger and more precisely the vial the woman held, offering her a smile.
“I’m simply lost is all, didn’t mean to scare you.”

For Fun!
C. You remain silent, hidden in the shadows, watching the young, Shifter woman.
Ko'ma watched silently from the shadows as the older Shifter followed the bugs. Part of her was curious as to what she was doing while the other half thought the bugs were cute, if a little strange. Slowly she prowled around careful to not brush against the vegetation and give herself away. Idly she wondered what the woman would do if she caught her.

Round 2 Round 2 Ends:06/06/12 10:00am EST Response A
Suhuba eyes you warily, the vials still clutched firmly in her hands. Slowly, she begins to relax. Such enthusiasm is refreshing in this dark, quiet void, but one can never be too careful, especially with strangers.
“These are the Illi…” She affirms, although her eyes do not drift away from you, clearly a newcomer, unfamiliar with Jauhar’s creatures.
Without warning, a pair of distressed cries pierce the air. The Shifter cringes, her gaze finally falling to the vial in her right hand. It is a simple, hollowed crystal, capped with a gently glowing mushroom stalk. Within, a bright red liquid swirls. “Here… I think I can trust you with this.”
You receive: Basic Healing Potion
Response B
Suhuba relaxes, actually smiling at your tender insecurities, the youthful innocence. “Actually…” She counters, the smile fading, but only slightly “I was hoping you could help me.”
Without warning, a pair of distressed cries pierce the air. The Shifter cringes, her gaze falling to the vial in her left hand. A pale, bluish purple liquid bubbles sluggishly within the hollowed crystal. A gently glowing cap of spongy fungus seals the odd ooze inside, although the mushroom stalk seemed to be deteriorating.
“Here.” She tosses the vial in your direction, fishing out another from the pouch, discretely slung behind her back. “I’m not entirely sure what it does, but it may come in handy.”
You receive: Strange Potion
Both A and B
Another shriek shatters through the night, just one this time, the more masculine of the two. The Illi quiver at the sharp noise, breaking formation and skittering off into chaos. As soon as the sound fades, however, they scoot back into line, and continue their march across the forest floor.
Suhuba’s forehead crinkles in concern. “Come with me.” She mutters and hurries into the forest, following the line of glowing worms. Within minutes, the owners of the terrible noises become clear. Caught up in the heights of a nearly invisible, funnel-shaped web is a young Shifter boy, silver as the moon, just like Suhuba. He screams in terror and pain, struggling against his translucent bindings, although the cause of his distress is unknown.
Nearby, on the ground, another Shifter girl lies, blood apparent across her face. She seems unconscious, but otherwise unharmed. Suhuba stares at the scene, at a loss for whom to assist.
She turns to you, prepared to send you for one while she helps the other, when one of the seemingly harmless crystal formations nearby jumps to life. It wraps its crystalline legs around the woman’s torso. “Help them.” She cries before the creature sinks in its hidden fangs, and your Shifter guide faints.
--------------------------------------
Response C
She glowers into the darkness, muscles tense, preparing to throw the strange, blue vial contained in her left hand in your direction, when, out of nowhere, a pair of shrieks pierce the air. Suhuba falters, wary of moving her gaze from your direction.
Without warning, she shoots off in the direction of the sound, both vials still clutched firmly in her hands.

4. Attempt to Attack the Crystal Creature
Me? Help her? Confused, I start to open my mouth to ask how I could help her when two screams shatter the silence. Suddenly, I'm being handed a potion, which the giver seems uncertain of what it does. I peer at it, curiously. What does it do, I wonder.
Then, we're following the screams through the forest. I can only hope that this woman knows where we're going. I'm already hopelessly lost. I spy the young male first, trying to figure out what is hurting him. Slowly, I realize that there is another, a girl, lying on the ground.
I turn to look at Suhuba and give a shriek of my own when the crystal creature springs to life. Torn, I look to the two youngsters for a moment, then back to my guide, and finally down to the potion in my hand. Unsure of what it does, I'm afraid to give it to either of the younglings. It doesn't exactly look tasty or helpful in that aspect.
So my eyes land on the last thing in the nearby area: the crystal creature. With a yell that surprises even myself, I launch myself at it, hoping to bash the potion over its crystal head and make it let go of Suhuba. Or, you know, not kill me at the very least.

1. Follow after the woman
Nadhiri tensed, ready to defend herself if the Shifter woman decided that whatever was lurking in the shadows was dangerous, but just as she began to shift her spear, there was a scream. The Alkidike made a quick decision as the shifter ran off. Moving as swiftly and silently as she could, Nadhiri followed. If there was trouble, she wanted to make sure it was not one of her own in need.

1. Use [Strange potion] on unknown shifter boy
She must be mistaken, to ask me for help seemed like asking for disaster to happen. I chew on my lower lip about to protest when she tosses a vial in my direction and I have to fumble and do a few fast steps of my feet to make sure I don't drop it. She must be crazy....especially when she tells me she isn't sure what this particular potion does.
I am about to protest to give her this glass vial back when a shriek causes my blood to chill. It is then she is running off telling come with her and I feel compelled to. Seeing that the bugs were as unnerved as I was didn't help.
We come across a unconscious girl and a boy in a web still aware and alive. I am holding for dear life the vial in my hands about to ask what we should do when a monster make out of crystal comes to life. I give a unmanly shriek as it advances and grabs hold of the woman's leg.
I am torn. Should I help her? No she said to help them. Them!? I look at the pair and fretted on who to help. The potion did...who knows what, and could do more harm than good...but...the girl was only unconscious by the looks of it. Maybe it could help the boy escape the web?
I am fast, that much I can admit being the one thing I was good at. Running. General it was...away from danger. But in this instance I am hoping that the vial in his hands would help rather than hinder him.
I was rambling that was for sure as I went to unstopper the vial and pour the contents on the webbing at first hoping it didn't look acidic. When nothing happened out of desperation I put it on the boy as well.

4. Attempt to Attack the Crystal Creature
The young shifter silently took the strange potion into her hand, confusion poorly hidden on her face. A shiver ran up her spine when her sensitive ears heard the pititful screams in the distance. Fear and worry clouded her mind as she followed the woman, hoping everything was okay.
Elatha's mind froze for a split second as she watched helplessly from the sidelines whilst the crystal creature attacked from nowhere, what might have been her only hope for getting out of this god forsaken jungle. She had less than a second to decide on what to do. She could either help the children, help the woman, or kill the creature, or creatures? If she helped the children or the woman it would leave her vulnerable to attack as well and she wouldn't be of any use to anyone unconscious and likely to be eaten. Then she saw the fangs pierce the woman's skin and a foreign iciness slid across her mind, hardening whatever feelings of panic she may have had. Her decision had been made for her.
Elatha's slender, callused hands flew to the dual knives on her thighs as she dashed toward the unknown crystal creature. She hoped it would be susceptible to physical attacks, but seeing as it was theoretically made of crystal it was only a shot in the dark that anything would work. She could only pray to the gods that she'd be lucky, just this once. With a feral cry she tore into the creature, swinging the blades while attempting to avoid the unconscious Shifter woman. All thoughts of the strange potion in her possession
