Personality: Akira is shown to have an extremely dark and morbid personality, oftentimes suggesting radical and bloody ideas when given a situation. Most of the time, he has a gloomy and brooding expression on his face. Though not a very social speaker, he will often question whether he is doing the right thing or not. If you really get to know him, he is a loyal and selfless friend. He also has a fetish for opposites, showing a fascination for things like day and night, good and evil, white and black. As for himself, he is a big fan of strolling down the gray area, as he gets to experience both the black and the white, as well as seeing things the black and white normally wouldn't.
His split personality, called Nikai, will only usually come out in battle, and when Akira is high on his emotions, similar to a Visored's hollow. He is the "serial killer" side of Akira, acting insanely maniacal and loses sight of everything around him. Nikai has absolutely no morality and holds a destructive personality. It doesn't take much to get him to snap, and he will get angry over the smallest minuscule things.

Biography: Akira grew up in a world where war and fighting dominated every aspect of his life. He lived in what was similar to a concentration camp, where the living quarters were filthy, food was scarce and fighting happened outside every day. Their camp was a refuge for the innocents that were not associated in the constant wars that ravaged the land every day. Akira's parents desperately tried to make ends meet, but there was never enough of anything for him. Every night, he went to bed hungry, tired, cold and mindshattered. When Akira was fifteen, soldiers stormed the camp and turned it into a bloody warzone in which both his parents were killed. This battle soon turned into the 'survival of the fittest', where people were viciously fighting for their lives. Horrid and gruesome sight awaited him, as he was bathed in blood and corpses. In screams of despair and rage, his hidden potent powers unlocked, causing him to give off a massive burst of uncontrolled reiatsu that brought people to their knees and leveled the camp. The unexpected burst of reiatsu left him on the bloody ground in a seizure. Interested in his abilities and thinking to transform his powers into a weapon of war, he was quickly confiscated and sent to the medical testing building in an adjacent camp. There, they did multiple tests on him in hoping to extract or unlock his powers. After a week of torturous testing and multiple injections, he died from the stress of the testing. As the doctors were about to move his dead body off the testing table, Akira surprised them by opening his eyes and grabbing two of the doctors by the throat. No longer human, he had turned into a hollow. Moreover, that was the day that his alternate personality, Nikai, was born. In a fit of maniacal madness, Nikai threw the doctors against the wall and gruesomely murdered them beyond recognition with nothing more than a scalpel. Standing in the blood splattered room, his anger soon faded to normal as Akira realized what he had done. In his realization of insanity, he murdered all the residents of the camp and burned it to the ground. He later escaped with nothing more than the clothes on his back.
Knowing nothing of his race or his abilities, he happened upon Touma and all the members of his troupe while in the World of the Living. When offered membership, he accepted and made the troupe his family. Training with the other Arrancar, such as Touma, Asuka and Kaeden, he far outclassed the other Arrancar and could fight toe on toe with Touma, for the most part. Through talent and training, he managed to become the strongest in Touma's troupe. When news of Touma's death arrived to him, Akira offered to take his place, despite the fact that the Cero Espada seemed to be a "bad luck" position, due to the fact that there have been three replacements in a short amount of time.

- Ribbon Manipulation - A passive ability. This allows the user to control an infinite amount of ribbons from the user's Zanpakutō that have a regenerative ability when destroyed, so long as the user is continuously supplying reiatsu. Though seemingly normal ribbons, they have a sharp cutting power and are able to slam cleanly through regular solid metal.
Gravity Manipulation - A passive ability. This allows the user to manipulate the gravity of anything the user's bandages touch. The user can generate a force so great that the target is rendered immobile.

Segunda Etapa Abilities:
- Flutter Step - An extremely advanced version of Sonído. The user uses a Sonído past the target, leaving behind a flurry of feathers where the user originally stood. By this point, the attack has either hit or missed. However, the attack is only visible after the hit has launched, meaning that the actual visibility of the attack has a lag time. The launched attack is an invisible carving blade of reiatsu that hits anything in a straight line in between the user and the feathers (the user's original position). To the naked eye, it would seem as if the target was invisibly hit before the actual attack had happened.
Trance - The user converts the ribbons into a flurry of butterflies. These butterflies corrode whatever they touch through a process of breaking down Reiryoku. The damage is similar to burning fire, only with no real flames. Alone, they pose no major threat, but in swarms, they can severely corrode and injure the target at a rapid pace, until they reach liquid. When meeting with an internal liquid (such as blood), the butterflies will melt into the user's lifestream and directly attack the nerves of the invaded limb, sending a message of extreme pain to the target.
Advent - The ribbons restrict the user before bursting completely, covering the user from sight in a cloud of black feathers and monochrome reiatsu. When the vibrance fades, the user is encased in a chrysalis for one post, full to the brim with reiatsu. In the event that the outer shell of the chrysalis breaks with a powerful attack, all of the user's reiatsu will leak out, causing a massive explosion of raw reiatsu in a 30 ft radius, which causes devastating destruction and leaves the user with only 10% of reiatsu left. However, if the chrysalis is not broken, the user transforms into a fallen angel, growing wings. In this final form, the user is able to manipulate gravity at will. However, there is a three second lag of control when used at ranged objects. When manipulating gravity at a ranged object, the user must hold a direct, steady focus on the object or area with the user's eyes for three seconds before manipulation can occur. This means that this will not work on a target that moves out of the user's focus before the three seconds are up. When focusing on an area, the gravity manipulation can only happen in a ten feet radius over an area. The user can only control an object or area at one time when using this ranged ability, but he can use gravity manipulation on as many objects/areas as the user wants without the three second lag, so long as contact is made.

- Akira's daggers are made out of glass, making them transparent. Unlike a metal blade, the glass blade is microscopically jagged in random places. Instead of making a smooth cut like a metal blade would, it roughly rips over material, causing twice as much damage and pain.
Akira's Zanpakutō is a special case, due to its duality. Instead of releasing them both, only one Zanpakutō releases while the other one turns into ribbons, almost like having two separate Zanpakutōs. The inner workings of his Zanpakutō all contain many contradictions, due to the fact of his opposite personality which is reflected in his Zanpakutō.
Due to the fact that everyone in Touma's troupe has some kind of performing skill, he was forced to learn piano. By condensing reiatsu in the air, he can create an "invisible" piano and fine tune it to make certain sounds, almost like playing glass cups.
