Upon further examination, the red dots seemed to be leading away from the spot, in a haphazard trail back into Amityville. It still carried with it that strange particular scent, a light coppery metallic tone. The colour was also very odd, not the same ichor that some undead bled with, and definitely not the Fear smell of a Reaper.
Why, it did not smell like Fear at all.
The trail of occasional dots continued onwards, past the Other Bathroom, past the outskirts of the gym, past the main hallway and trophy display room just a little in front of the old blocked off wing of the school library. Noone went up there any more, not considering the legend of the student eating books, and also the fact that it was restricted. However, there was no librarian to warn them, no students to stare disapprovingly at them: the entire school was empty and quiet after hours, even the staff having retreated after a long day at the festival.
The area was blocked off, but only by a few measly ribbons that said IN CONSTRUCTION - DO NOT CROSS. Broken bookshelves and slightly-soggy books lay in that particular part of the wing as the lighting got considerably darker. The floor in fact, seemed extremely wet and damp, parts of it crackled, oddly discoloured mushrooms poking out from some of them. The walk was oddly long to the very far end of the closed off wing, and at the very, very very, far end-
- Nothing. A dead end. Just a single bookshelf.
That is until something glinted at the side of the discarded bookshelf, still stuck half-in, covered in the same red substance.
A key? It was not exactly inconspicuous either, as right next to the key was a crack, a large enough crack between the bookshelf and what was supposedly the way. A secret passageway perhaps. There was only one way to figure out. OOC - Your student can CHOOSE TO STAY (in the library) or EXPLORE THE PASSAGEWAY. Why would they stay? They're not chicken are they? - ICly post at the TOP OF YOUR POST your student's choice. - If you CHOOSE TO STAY, every post you make, roll a 6-sided dice. If odd, you suddenly hear voices approaching. Crap, aren't you in the restricted section? Without a moment's more hesitation you run in to join the group in the passageway. - If you EXPLORE THE PASSAGEWAY it is dark, extremely extremely dark. You actually can't see what's going on unless you're next to a student who has a light-summoning natural ability or just glows. Better stick close to them... The passageway is narrow, but you swear you can hear something. A soft lullaby perhaps, or just the faintest of whispers. For a second, you feel an odd sensation, a tug of nostalgia. As if someone is asking you to come rescue them. You can't help but be compelled, as you walk deeper and deeper now, to figure what lies ahead. - Make sure you QUOTE who you are talking to. - Every step you walk EXPLORING THE PASSAGEWAY, roll a 100-sided dice, and try to rp out the exploration phase. If you roll 50 or lower, you reach a dead end and have to backtrack. Continue to do this and COUNT HOW MANY TIMES you have rolled (each time equals the equivalent of several paces). After the 4th roll you reach a seemingly dead end and cannot go any further. Maybe if you look around the wall, there seems to be something there, an odd sort of smell, like the ocean... - For example, I roll 100 (turn 1). I go to turn 2. I roll 20 (fail). I have to roll again for turn 2. This time I roll an 80 (pass). I move to turn 3. I roll a 5 (fail). I stay on turn 3. I roll a 14 (fail). I stay on turn 3.

Explore the Passage
Quin had all but given up on cleaning. Honestly what was the point. It would probably be messed up tomorrow anyway. What had really caught her attention was the scent in the air. It wasn't normal, something not of Halloween. She had first seen it when Westhor brought over his pumpkin and then again on her way out of the festival area.
It was there she found a small trail, little red droplets creating a breadcrumb trail toward the school. Too curious for her own good Quin followed silently, keeping a look out for anyone out of the ordinary. It was odd though, the trail was leading up to the restricted library. Normally they as students would be shooed away but there was no one to do the shooing now. Instead Quin welcomed herself passed the ribbons of construction tap and entered the area crinkling her nose at the smell of old worn, moldy books.
There wasn't much in sight though just a single bookshelf that didn't seem entirely out of place other than being by itself. Ready to turn and leave Quin spotted something on the floor. The glint of light playing off of something and as she moved closer to investigate she found what looked like a key. Dots of red were painted around it on the floor and she looked up to follow the trail to the bookshelf.
If she wasn't such a curious soul she would have left but instead found the crack behind the bookshelf that lead into a passage way. "Interesting..." She whispered to herself moving forward into the passage without any hesitation.

Explore the Passageway
Man, whoever had gotten their trash kicked had walked the opposite direction of the Nurse's office to go lick their wounds. Then again, at this time of night, the Nurse wouldn't have been in anyways, so that kinda made sense. d**k didn't particularly pay much mind to the oddities of the blood - in fact, he was still pretty convinced that someone had gotten their a** kicked (and was excited about this).
For some reason, this little tracking mission had him ending up at the library, making a small face as he looked at all the books he had never even considered reading ever. Why did they even have a library? Why read words when he could just kill the things the words told him about?
Or something like that. Still, it seemed that when he went and ventured into the forbidden section of books, there was well... ... books. Wow, was someone ripping the pages out to bandage their wounds or something? That was kinda lame, actually. Books deserved better than that. Oh man, there were mushrooms growing too! He kind of gawked at that for a bit, but in the dark it seemed like it was hard enough to see anyways that he'd risk a little bit of accidental paralysis of his classmates, pulling his sunglasses off and hanging them from the front of his shirt.
However, after all of his searching, there was nobody to rag on for being beat up. d**k definitely couldn't have seemed more disappointed about this - until...
"Oh hey, there's a thingading here.." he announced to nobody in particular as he looked at the key..and then the crack in the wall behind the bookshelf. Being a massive beast of a boil, he pushed it open enough to let him pass through to go in deeper.
"Imma check it out!"
Because Dicks liked dark and possibly damp caves.

EXPLORE
Following the trail with the others, Vel tilted her head curiously as she crouched down to give the blood or paint or whatever it was a stronger whiff. It didn't smell like anything she really knew of. Well. Particularly, it didn't smell like FEAR. There was something very off with it.
Straightening back up, she continued on until coming up to the bookshelf that was covered in the liquid.
"Quin wait up. Us Defenders need to stick together," she smirked before peering into the passage that seemed to be behind the bookshelf. That... wasn't always there was it? It looked more like a hole in the wall. Before she could delve in, d**k had already rushed on ahead.
"Shout if you find anything weird!" She called to the cockatrice before stepping into the hole. By Jack it was dark in here!
"Ack. If only I had a flashlight. One would be reaaaaally nice right about now," she huffed.

" Jack damn its dark in 'ere," Quin muttered but nearly jumped when she heard someone come in behind her. " Who's dere?" She was already falling into stance ready to fight. Whoever it was would get a beating if they dropped the wrong answer. It would be so much easier if she could see. Quin only seemed to calm when she heard Vel's voice. " Jack damn I was ready ta fight. Who else is with ya?"

Exploring the Passageway "Hey now, it's just me - d**k." d**k answered. Hmm, it was kinda cozy in this passageway. So cozy, in fact, that he soon ran into a wall and made a loud 'OOMPH' noise before he punched it.
"Well, we can't go that way, ladies." he called back to both Quin and Vel.

Explore the Passageway
There were strange red dots. Ylva narrowed her eyes at this strange little trail that she and Relict followed, with the other curious students. They were led right to the restricted area of the library, and she had to wonder what exactly had gone into such a place. She wrinkled her nose slightly and watched as others pointed out the object that seemed to be where the trail was leading towards.
"How strange." She murmured, glancing up at the berserker. She took a step forward, into the passageway, into the darkness. It was hard to see, but Ylva didn't exactly mind the darkness. The depths of the ocean could get extremely dark if you went deep enough. "Are you coming?" The question was thrown towards Rilect, accompanied by a quizzical raise of an eyebrow.

EXPLORING PASSAGEWAY.
Once in the library, he frowned, dropping Matt to the ground before following his classmates into the dark passageway.
"T-Tarot sister? B-bros...?" He was glowing, ever so slightly, but it wasn't enough for him to see with - if anything, that just made him some sort of a lighthouse for the students who had wandered into the hallway. One hand on the wall, he sniffled, trying to find him way around.
"SISTERS?! BROS??" He yelled, and in his panic, decided to discharge a lot of electricity at one time; it was almost a fireworks show, with less color, and more tears.

Exploring away we goooo"Woah! Easy there. It's just us. Jacking hell though. Didn't one of you bring a flashlight?" She huffed out while staring in the general direction she heard the voices come from. It was just d**k and Quin so she wasn't too concerned. As if there would be anything in here that they couldn't handle anyway. They were Defenders! More of them were bound to come by. Between the lot of them, they could take care of any trouble. Yep. If only they could just Jacking see where they were going. She just walked right into another wall. Ow! The raptor soon paused, as she could have sworn she heard something. A cry for help? "Did you hear that? I think someone's in trouble!" Meanwhile, back in trance, Shun was not liking where this was going. At all, being relatively familiar with that particular substance...

EXPLORING PASSAGEWAY
The red paint possessed an unusual, metallic scent, and Tarot didn’t understand why. In fact, the paint was brighter than the dark shades of red she was accustomed to. It only made the reaper ghoul even more curious as she diligently followed the trail as it slowly made its way back into Amityville. She passed the library and the trophy room and other familiar locations until the path of splattered red led her into the restricted library. Tarot probably should have stayed, or even left, but the passageway was far too tempting. She wanted to explore it.
It was incredibly dark when she stepped inside. Tarot cursed her lack of flashlight. She tentatively placed a hand on one of the walls as she made her way down into the passageway. The ghoul frowned when she found herself at a dead end. Sigh. Time to turn around and—
There was yelling, loud yelling and crackling sparks. “Westhor?! WESTHOR IS THAT YOU?” she yelled out, her voice bouncing off the walls as she raced toward the light show. Tarot clung to his arm. Hopefully she wouldn’t lose him now. Her hair began to poof. Oh Jack oh Jack ohJack.
"Westhor. Shhhhh. Lower your voice a bit, alright? It's okay."

Exploring PassageOh how comforting. d**k was coming in from behind. Lovely " No I didn' think ta pack a flashlight." Quin huffed right back. It was pitch black though and she wasn't getting very far. In fact she kept running into dead ends from the feel of it. She had to keep her hands against the walls to keep from running into them. And then she heard it. The bellowing 'Bro' and sighed. " Down 'ere Westhor."

Explore the PassagewayWhen they followed the strange trail, Relict couldn't help but notice the odd things on their way there. And when it came to the restricted section.. Did construction mean sodding wetness? Picking up a piece of the broken bookshelf with one hand, and a dripping mess of papers in the other, Relict wouldn't have thought that 'construction' meant this. Did this place have a leakage? Or something else? Whatever, Amityville was far too strange to tell. The only way to get answers was a direct route. "Would you feel right at home here?" He asked of Ylva, the half octopus and half human. It was certainly wet enough. In response to her question, he scratched the back of his head, Rilect found himself answering, "How could I say no to that invitation?" Relict offered, amused, and unable to resist. Accompanying her by her side, they both stepped down into the passageway. But without a visible light source, Relict had to used the wall to guide and steady himself. "Don't suppose you can see, can you?" He asked of his companion.

Exploring Exploring~d**k made a face. "I was just expectin' to find some idiot who'd gotten what was comin', y'know?" he confessed as to why he didn't have the foresight to bring a flashlight - that and even if he'd been expecting a cave he would have been too stupid to bring a flashlight.
It seemed that despite his bumpin' along, however, he was at least making progress.
"Ha ha, is that Westhor shoutin' back there, then?"

"Well, it's not so bad." She replied. It did remind her of a cave of sorts, and she could almost imagine waves splashing up on the rocky floor. Although actually, her ears caught what seemed to be soft whispers, but it could very well be the other students. And yet... a little voice in her mind told her that it was something else.
"Sort of." Ylva had pretty good eyesight, being half octopus and all, but she did have her limitations. "It would be better if there was light though." Unfortunately, she didn't have that sort of abilities, and if she could recall, neither did Relict. "It seems like a dead end is up ahead though."

EXPLORING PASSAGEWAY
"O-okay..." He nodded, taking deep, gasping breathes as he calmed down; as he did, the glow around him begun to dim, until he was back to normal, his hair still letting off sparks once in a while as he shook his head, holding onto his classmate, "I don't like this place, sister... We should... Get out of here, you know? This place is not chill at all. Not. Chill."
He then heard another voice - this one sounded a lot further away, but it was still a familiar voice. Almost comforting, in a way, to know that they're there.
"QUIN SISTER, IS THAT YOU?!" He yelled, tugging Tarot along as he tried to navigate his way through the darkness, only to end up walking into a wall - a dead end. He frowned, turning back, "ARE THERE OTHERS WITH YOU, SISTER?"
