Sotiris ran swiftly down the hallways of the Pantheon. He did not wish to be caught or stopped by anyone, especially his family. He was quite certain if he came upon his father or uncle he would be forbidden from leaving. His mother and sister had a way of guilt tripping him in a way no other could. His brother ... he didn't particularly want to think about. He growled quietly under his breath and picked up his pace. The act of actually running felt good, and it did an excellent job of allowing himself to get lost in thoughts that didn't involve his own mixed feelings of failure.

It had been a pleasant visit to the Library, and Glaucon was sure he would be returning there again -- to visit with Akakios, to see if he couldn't run into Endiovar, and even simply to immerse himself in all the knowledge packed into the shelves. For now, though... it was time to return to his room and get some sleep. And Eudocia would probably end up cornering him into another acupuncture session. He had left her behind to pick out a book or two he could enjoy in the sanctity of his own quarters, so at least he would have the space to himself for a little while. Ah, and there was the door, just a few more steps away. He stepped forward, reaching out a hand to push it open, unaware of the footsteps thundering in his direction.

Escape seemed to be within his grasp. It wouldn't be much further, and he would be outside of the Pantheon entirely. In his haste to be outside, it seemed like the hallways stretched out further before him than they normally did. In response, he pushed himself to run faster. His eyes widened slightly as somewhere fuzzily in the back of his mind he registered that there was someone in front of him. A second later he realized he was going to barrel right into the person if he didn't stop. Sotiris tried to come to a hault as quickly as he could, but his momentum was too great. His attempt to stop simply sent him clumsily tumbling straight into the other man.

Noticing the obstacles ahead had come too slowly to both of them. While Soto realized Glaucon was there before he could take the chance to stop himself, the elder Morph was hardly in a position to change the course of the inevitable, even if he had turned to see the approaching child. With a small noise of surprise his only reaction, the god was sent tumbling backwards into the floor, his cane clattering clear over to the other side of the hallway. "Ssssshhhiiiiit." That had hurt. And now he was inadvertently setting a bad example to boot.

" Oh, no!" Sotiris gasped. He moved immediately to help Glaucon to his feet. " So, so, so sorry," he said in earnest, " Did not mean to knock you down. You okay? Are you hurt?" The little godling seemed sincerely concerned. He hadn't meant to hurt anyone, and yet it seemed he had anyway. His gaze fell to the man's cane. He darted over towards it and scooped it up. He offered it back to Glaucon with a tentative wag of his tail. " Be okay now?"

Good to know this wouldn't be a drive-by knockdown. With Soto's help, Glaucon got back to a sitting position, and with his cane in hand was able to stand back up completely. Shaken, yes, but he suffered no lasting damage -- less could be said for the floor, though. A quick look at the space he had feel to revealed that his sharp, rigid wings had left a few scratch marks on the stone... hopefully no one would notice. "I am fine..." he grumbled, "...but you should be more careful. Why are you in such a hurry, anyway?"And furthermore, just who and what was this child? He had a divine aura about him for sure, but looked nothing like any of the other gods Glaucon knew.

Sotiris looked down and away as he was scolded a bit for not having watched where he was going. The man had a point, so he wasn't inclined to argue. If it had been his father, he likely would have protested or simply would have refused to listen simply because it was his father.Fortunately enough for Glaucon, the wayward child before him was most certainly not his offspring. He squirmed uncomfortably in place and adjusted his small leather satchel. " I'm leaving," he announced simply with a hint of a petulant pout upon his baby face. " Tired of this place," he went on quietly with a sort of forlorn look.

Glaucon suppressed a sigh -- it looked like the sanctity of his room would have to wait a little longer. Ever since he began exploring the Pantheon again, the story of his life had consisted almost entirely of awkward, uncomfortable run-ins with strangers (or, in Alice's case, ancient ties he was not so sure he wanted to reestablish). But this was, to date, his first encounter with a child, divine or otherwise. He had never been good with children. So, naturally, he said the worst possible thing that could have been said to Sotiris in this situation. "...Do your parents know about this?"

A brief look of horror flickered across his face as he worried that the person before him was going to somehow stop him or contact his parents prior to his escape. The look was quickly replaced with stern indignation accompanied by a scowl that belied his youth. In that moment he looked very much like his father. " No," he grumbled, " It is none of their business." He folded his arms across his chest with a dark look, eyes sparking slightly in his annoyance that his family had been brought back into the equation. " I am Guardian, Underworld's eldest son," he added still glowering, " I can take care of myself." He was determined to make certain that statement was true. He glanced away from Glaucon's gaze with a frown, and instead peered over at him surreptitiously with a sidelong glance. If the man had to walk with a cane, that meant it was unlikely he could give chase should he decide to run...

Underworld... This was Underworld's son? Nergal had children? That look Sotiris was giving was definitely reminiscient of him... and the look Glaucon gave back was half flabbergasted and half highly indecisive about what to do. How far from the Pantheon would this child actually manage to run off? Was he that capable of taking care of himself, in spite of appearances? Children were already a puzzle to him. A young god could be a different story entirely. He could use the Geas to make boy into return to his quarters -- but he was just a child, casting a verdict on him would be incredibly severe, and then he would ostensibly have to deal with his father's ire for using godly powers on his son without any prior consent. Or he could do nothing... and be liable for any danger he might end up getting himself into. Glaucon leaned forward on his cane, considering his words. Maybe he could... calm him down and figure out why he was running away? He took a step forward.

Sotiris' eyes widened considerably as Glaucon took a step towards him. A thrill of panic shot through him, and without another word he side-stepped around the other god with far more agility than he had exhibited earlier after having crashed into him. He made a mad dash down the hallway and moved as quickly as he possibly could. He very nearly launched himself down a flight of stairs taking them two and three at a time before leaping to the bottom. There was no way Glaucon was going to catch up with him now! Or at least he hoped so.

"Wait --"He clumsily twirled around, hand outstretched towards the tiny fleeing form, and the next second later he made the foolish effort to chase -- keeping his cane off the ground as he tried, with some success, to run after the child. He was not nearly fast enough. And then Sotiris bounded down the stairs, and Glaucon only caught one last green glimpse of him until he disappeared. Well, s**t.
