Hey, all. I'm an old member that's recently coming back after a good year and a half long hiatus from Gaia, but not from Role Playing. I'm planning on coming back with a vengeance in sparking this new RP that I've been mulling over in my head.
BUT ENOUGH ABOUT ME!
Forum Layout. Post 1: The overall setting of this RP, including history and how to get in! Post 2: Rules and regulations as well as restrictions and freedoms. Post 3: Current RPers and their characters. Post 4: Blacklisted RPers. Post 5: Special characteristics. Post 6: Other leaders of the RP.

Setting, History, and How to Apply! The setting is on the planet Inaliam. The days upon this planet are almost twice as long as we know of here on Earth, and the year is roughly two thirds as long, making the average life span of non-altered humans 113, though elven races are known to live longer, for over a thousand Inaliam years depending on the elf. The population ranges only in the low millions and there are very few industrial cities and locations, and the inhabitants are mostly human like creatures with very few other life forms that would be considered equal to the main overall race of the planet. Such races would be almost any imaginable type, such as elves, human, risen bodies of either of these, as well as a very small number of dwarves and such. Basic humanoid creatures. The history: The planet has been flourishing for a very long time, and the population is well into the billions. The planet is highly industrialized and the beings of the planet have proved their dominance on the planet. There would be no magic here. Little did they know that the forces of Heaven and Hell were having an all out war for the past several hundred thousand years. Two weapons were made, one from Hell and one from Heaven, and both were being used in this war, and both of them powerful gauntlets that have untold and fabled powers beyond anything that a mortal would be able to comprehend. The commander of Heaven's forces proudly wielding Heaven's Gauntlet, and the commander of Hell's forces proudly wielding Hell's Gauntlet. Never had the two weapons met before until now. The most powerful unit of Hell and the most intense unit from Heaven began to march, completely unseen upon this little planet of Inaliam. The demons and angels saw everything, the creatures and their buildings and roadways, but they paid them no mind or thought as they were able to pass right through anything, completely unseen as ghosts by the unknowing planet. A massive battle took hold and the two units barreled into each other. Although they were unaffected by the workings and buildings, the structures themselves began to take unseen and untold damage from the explosions and magic flying about. Everybody fought until all but two stood. The commanders of each side. They dawned on their most favored weapons and charged directly for each other. All the while the beings of the planet would be scrambling and running around, nearly their entire planet in shambles and ruins from the battle that they had no clue was going on. Many were dead. The two wielders of the gauntlets fought and battled, an all out match to the death until the two gauntlets pounded against each other. Both of their fists slamming against one another, causing a strange explosion in the likes that nobody had ever seen before. Colors of the like that anyone could ever imagine erupted from the two powerful weapons and the beings became suddenly visible by the populace of the city they were currently warring in, though the shock wave of the power rolled across every continent and tectonic plate, tearing about lands and cracking mountains and felling cities and killing billions upon billions. In this explosion, magic was born in this planet now. Available to be learned and forcing it out from the clashing of these two weapons that were brothers, and polar opposites. The two warlords fled the scene, unbeknownst to them what would happen and what has happened. Among the wreckage the beings began to crawl, and they began to rebuild. It wasn't until many many years later did they learn... that magic was attainable by a large number of the population. Not everybody could learn... Some say that the world always had magic in it. Others say that something else happened to cause it. The battle in itself was completely unknown by the inhabitants of the planet, and that suddenly there was a series of deaths and an explosion, and magic was born. This battle happened a couple hundred years ago, though a lot of the planet still is scarred over and industrial cities are still trying to rebuild because of the strange happenings of what went on. The locals say it's because of radioactivity from a terrorist attack, and very few if anybody would know the truth. There is little government at this time, and nobody knows who truly is in charge. There is a police force that is specialized in taking out magic users, and it is entirely unknown as to where they're taken if they've broken any of the laws of magic. Nobody has been seen again once they're taken away. Magic:I'm not talking about Harry Potter-esque magics that you have to have a wand or staff for. This is more sorcerer-esque in the fact that you can cast it without a catalyst. And a person cannot be powerful in more than two schools of magic at once. You must specialize entirely in one type, and if possible (Very hard to do so) you can be a novice in a second branch. There -are- ways to cast certain magics so that it appears and acts like other branches, but those are very -VERY- limiting, as in one or two spells that could do that if you describe it and post it right. It is possible through a great number of means to attain the ability to wield the new magics of the planet. Perhaps some people had random surges of magic pass through them and give them the powers and the stumbled upon them accidentally, or perhaps they learned from those that that happened to. Any creature who sets his or her mind to the task can conjure magic if they truly wish to and follow that training. It is an easy thing to forget so everybody in practicing these new things would need a dedicated use of it or embodiment of it. But then again... some people may be born with it and have a natural talent with it. The reasons for this are unknown to the beings of this planet and are very strange in their phenomena. Magic has a way of acting strangely, so use your imagination on this. There are -very- few restrictions when it comes to magic. Unless someone is highly skilled with magic, it's nearly impossible to tell if they can use it without actually seeing the person performing it. Having an overall master of any branch of magic is rare, as magic has now only been around for a few short hundred years and has yet had everything figured out about it. As a whole, the populace are neutral on magic users, though there are small groups that hate it in all its forms, and will do anything to kill magic users. The only magics that are really looked down upon are the darker, void-like magics and necromancy. You are not born into magic. You have to learn it. You may be adept with a certain type, but the kind you choose will be entirely your own choice. Legally, a person must be around for at least twenty Inaliam years before they're allowed to start practicing magic. There are set laws with magics and their usages, though as far as established schools, there are none yet. It has to be taught by people you know. Culture and other anecdotes of information:The world is mostly working together, every one of the races and types of people. There is little to no racism or hatred towards any one group culturally speaking, though it is entirely possible for the individuals to be so. The civilians tend to work together. Technology of the time would be just under what we have here right now in this time period on Earth. Basic firearms and buildings and such, making more of a push towards using what could be considered non conventional weaponry of what we see here in our time. Laws regarding magic and its usage:(Keep in mind that these are laws, not rules of the RP. You're allowed to do them RP wise, but just remember that these things may most likely have reprocussions in character. But that's what makes RP fun, right?!) At no time are you permitted to destroy any structure or landmark without permission from the Chief of Police. At no time are you permitted to perform magic in major establishments; including but not limited to restaurants, courts, and schools. At no time are you permitted to kill another unless in a proper duel in which both parties have accepted the terms. At no time are you permitted to practice or perform Necromancy. All magic users must be licensed and registered under their real name at the Police Station and put in the record books as a wielder of magic. (Possibly more to come.) Still interested in this RP?No? Oh. Alright. Just in case you are, I'll post how to get in just in case some of you out there want to. All you have to do is send me a PM with the following information, titled "Tales of Magic". Do not post until I've accepted your application. New RPers are fine, but there is a level at which will not be accepted. At least try. It's not likely that I'll decline someone. Name: Race: Gender: Age: Magic capable: Y/N If yes, what kind/style: Profession/skills: Description: (PLEASE WRITE IT OUT, DON'T JUST SEND ME A PICTURE. IF YOU JUST SEND ME A PICTURE, YOU WILL BE DECLINED) Optional picture: Personality: History: (Can be brief.) Sample of writing/RP:

Rules and Regulations and Restrictions and Freedoms Updated! I allow for a lot of creative freedoms here, but there is always a line and a point to be crossed that will not be acceptable. Such points include: God moding - this means taking control of another person's character, not taking any hits in a fight, and saying that all of your hits land in a fight. This includes against another player or player controlled object. Anything over PG15. Excessive swearing - We all swear, but don't go overboard in RP. Defying myself or any of the others that I may appoint as other people in command of this RP. Destroying the planet and story of the planet. No half demons, half gods, half angels, or full ones of any of those previously listed. You -CAN-, however, take training from one of the above if said creature deems it worthy. There is a good reason for this, as it will play a role later on. Half-breed anything else is okay, but I don't want to see a whole crapton of them. Not everybody should be a half breed. LITERACY. Mistakes are fine. New RPers are fine, but please please please please be literate. As for freedoms, if you're a magic wielding badass, that's fine. But you have to respect the ability of the other people's characters and their validations. You are not the most awesome person in the planet. You can be powerful, but by no means should you be undermining the powers or abilities of the others unless they're okay with it. Keep post styles the same. Don't change color, even for dialogue. No bold. No small text. Keep things simple and sweet. Do NOT use a character that you yourself have not created. I allow for a lot of magical freedom and fighting freedom and mostly anything else in between. Basically, if it's not stated here in the rules, it's free game for what goes. Multiple characters. You are allowed to have multiple characters in this RP. All you have to do is send me a request for each character with all of the information, but you can occlude the RP sample as I've already seen it. The only restrictions I have for this is that for each post you can only control one character. You can have your characters only team up in a fight or something like that with someone only if the other person is alright with it. Hell, you can even fight yourself with your own characters if you really wanted to. I've done it. It doesn't matter if your characters are friends, family, mortal enemies, or simply don't even know the others exist. PLEASE NOTE: This rule list is subject to change without warning, and I will make notifications of it. Make periodic checks of this post.

Special Characteristics Alright. Here's a few things that I think are pretty cool about this RP that I've decided to keep separate from everything else, as I think they're pretty awesome. I think you will, too. There are seven weapons of Hell and Heaven. That's right. There are seven weapons. If you want to find them or have them, you'll have to go through a -LOT- of in character trials and tribulations to attain them, and they'll have to be accepted by myself. If you're interested in more info on any of these weapons, let me know through PM and I'll give you the overall powers and characteristics of them, as describing them here would take more time than I honestly wish to put in right now. I will cross them off when they've been attained. You do not have to be a magic wielder to use any of these weapons save for the spellbooks. Such weapons include: Heaven's GauntletHeaven's Sword Heaven's Staff Heaven's Bow Heaven's Rifle Heaven's Armor Heaven's Spellbook Hell's GauntletHell's Sword Hell's Staff Hell's Bow Hell's Rifle Hell's Armor Hell's Spellbook This is by no means a simple RP, and although beginner RPers will be accepted, it isn't recommended that they start with this one. I'm just being completely honest here. This is a place of intricate storylines and building characters, development, and a whole lot of other crazy s**t. Keep it creative, keep it friendly, and keep it awesome. I look forward to a fun RP with you guys.

Erepo strode down the alleyway between two of the more deteriorated buildings, running a pale hand along the cold, scorched stone to his left. A stoic look upon his hard face, rarely changing and closely resembles that of a skull with pale skin stretched over it. Sunken eyes seem to never stop moving and rolling around in their vile home. The iris is a darkened red and seem to flicker like that of an ever burning flame. His hair is thin and black, only extending to around his neck. As he continues upon his way, Finely crafted robes of black and red seem to flow with each movement, almost perfectly suited to his body and taste. At his hip sits a very basic short sword, though a small number of glowing runes remain etched into the very clean blade. It was obvious that this particular weapon saw very little to no use. His fingertips begin to slowly glow a deep red as they glide along the stone, leaving behind four small trails in the dust, then leaving a blackened trail as a burning magma upon his fingertips melts away at the rock. He pays no mind to his left hand, as his right is balled in a tight fist at his side. He raises the appendage a bit in his advancement just to look down upon it.
The only imperfection in his robes is in the right sleeve, or lack thereof. Upon his right arm sits an abomination of reality and existence. What looks like an external set of black veins pulses slowly upon his flesh. Every so often it can be seen constriction and causing this man a dull pain from time to time. This living thing spreads up from his right hand to his arm and partially to his chest and is in constant motion in its writhing and pulsing, as if leeching off of the powers of its host. Erepo merely glares at it for a long while before dropping the hand once more to his side. The light ends and he almost seems to disappear into the shadows, the glowing of his fingertips now absent.
"This world... will burn." a deep, gravely voice that is almost hard to understand would emminate from the shadows to nobody in particular.

With a gentle breeze wafting the smell of the earth through her hair, Jezebel awoke from her dreams to find the bright morning sun smiling down on her through the leaves of the above tree. Stretching out the knots in her limbs, she overstretches and looses her balance. Wide-eyed and falling, she stops shortly afterwards, saved by her ridiculously large red ribbon tying her to the tree-branch.
'Ahehe, lucky!', she silently smiles to herself and swings back onto the tree branch she was previously sleeping on. Packing away her things, she surveys the area from the huge tree, comically shading her eyes and pouting her lips mid-search.
"Ah, I think I spy the town!". Climbing down - albeit ungracefully - from the massive tree, she manages to make it with almost a meter to the ground when her hand fumbles and she comes crashing down on her rump. Letting out a squeal on impact, she sorely gets up, rubbing her bruised behind and starts off towards the town. Straightening her back and shoulders, she gives herself a little pep talk.
'I've been off to a rough start, but I just know this will be the most exciting adventure! Oh, and finding the truth, of course... yeah.'. Thrusting her chin higher into the early morning air, she marches with an exaggerated gait, helping to keep her on the lighter side of things. With every step she takes, her confidence grows in the hope for an escape from the fear of drowning in boredom and normality.

Valada stands on the very top of one of the taller broken down buildings near the outskirts of the city. Her cold calculating eyes scan over the wilderness before landing upon another elf making her way towards the city. Her skin was almost unbearably pale and her eyes gave off a blue glow that seemed to represent the absolute cold that churned within her body nonstop, manifesting itself around her form and freezing into a protective barrier of ice around her. The little movements she made would chip and break away the frost around the limbs, refreezing again when she ceased moving to accommodate for her movements. Two swords sit crossed upon her back that gleam a dull purple, glowing faintly. The rest of her form would be hard to see from such a level save for a small amount of cold that one would feel the closer they'd get to her and the building in which she stood.
She kept a tiny smile upon her face. Not one out of happiness or malice, but for a reason beyond that. For now, her focus only remained upon the moving elf outside of the city.

This is one of Damien's off-days. He sits on top of a granite outcropping in the low mountains he patrols, holding his long sword across his lap. The hilt is simply adorned with a floral pattern, and a similar one works its way a few inches up the steel blade. His silver eyes glitter in the rising sun as he surveys his territory. Behind and a few feet below him lie his rucksack, filled as always with rope, bedding, a few knives, and little else. His magic lets him live unperturbed in the forest when he wishes to, so he never brings many supplies. Next to him is a slab of butter, a few rolls, and some beef jerky, as well as a thermos of orange juice with a Pokémon logo and a pikachu on it. He never completely grew out of his childhood games, and he simply gives a light laugh and blushes whenever someone mentions it. His demeanor is one of total, calm confidence, as though there is simply no question that this - this is his domain, his home, his earth. He breathes in deeply of the sweet, subtle scents of the awakening world, and exhales with a soft smile. Today will be a good day.
The cityscape is spread out before him as usual. With a small smile, he hears, through his affinity with the forest, a young woman fall out of a tree. Sheathing his sword by his side, he stands, stretches, and sighs. There's not enough noise for her to be badly injured, but he may as well investigate. In short order, he has finished his simple breakfast, packed up, and begun making his way towards Jezebel, staying quiet in he dappled light of the forest.

Luniya walked into the secluded run down bar located at the edge of a forest to begin her shift. There was still day light outside and she hoped that there wouldn't be any problems with her customers later tonight.
She tied her deep, azure colored hair back into a bun as she she walked behind the bar counter. Her ears twitched a little as she saw a mouse scurry across a beam holding the partially built structure together. "Hey, can I have a drink please?" Luniya didn't hear the man. She was too interested in where the mouse was headed to hear anything.
"Excuse me miss, can I have some rum," the bearded man repeated himself, this time tapping his glass on the counter.
Luniya's eyes darted down towards his face and she smiled, "Well of course you can," and with what almost seemed like one swift move she grabbed the glass, spun around and poured his drink. "Enjoy, sir."
So far the night seemed to be going well. Luniya hoped to herself that all her customers were this nice.
