The meeting with the young Andalite had been an unusual and stressful experience, indeed. In spite of the frustrations associated with Exalla, however, Glaucon was looking forward to the next opportunity in which he could meet her again. He was itching to learn more of her society than the simple hints she had provided in their conversations. There was also a deep contentment that came with teaching society as he knew it. It was making him feel more like his old self again, allowing himself to be immersed in the bustle of a prospering community. He knew he would be visiting the Marketplace again, with or without the company of the alien. But now was not the time for crowded city visits. After a long and much-needed rest at his quarters, Glaucon rifled through his books, pondering which oned he wished to read again and which ones would be best returned to the Library. He skimmed the pages, gaze alighting on the passage, with a couple of volumes juxtaposed, when he noticed something that somehow hadn't caught his eye before. Previously, he had been aware that many, if not all of the books were handwritten. However, these two were by the same hand! And so Glaucon gathered a third book, to see if the writing style would match the first two. It did, and he tried the same with a fourth. Eventually he had a small pile of volumes filled with the same elegant script, a diligent personality just about shining through the pages. There was a Scribe working for the library... and by the looks of it, he or she had been hard at work for quite a long time. And if the god of Judgment would have needed more reasons to finally go there in person, this was definitely on the list. With Eudocia accompanying him to carry the small pile of books he needed to return, he approached the room and entered, taking in the sights of the shelves and comforting scent of the air.

The library was silent, but not empty, as Glaucon would soon figure out. If he had arrived just a few hours earlier, Akakios would not have been there, as he had been trying to get the hang of shapeshifting again, interest resparked by Exalla's own ability to do the same. As previously, however, he seemed to have made no head way at all, and frustration had made him give up early.
So he had returned to the library, and resumed what he spent most of his days with, lately - combing through massive tomes to see if more could be found about Kikechum's artifact, or the actual location where it was said to be hidden. So far, however, he had not found much of anything that could be considered useful.
It was hard to contain his frustration, really, and he made a face at the heavy tome, as if it might simply reveal it's secrets if he glared at it hard enough. It did not help that the restlessness he had started to feel when he had grown was not going away... In fact, it was quite the opposite - it only seemed to keep growing. He felt like he could have reached out for anything he ever wanted... expect for the fact that he did not seem to understand how.
No, the life he had lead as a young boy was no longer enough for what he had become. Lament made his way up quite suddenly, clearly about to leave and go be frustrated elsewhere until he noticed that he was no longer alone. The bright green demoness was clearly aoide, and the man walking with her clearly had the feel of divinity to him, even if he clearly needed that cane to walk.
"May I help you ?" He asked, suddenly glad for the distraction.

The library turned out to be empty, save for one other visitor. A shame. Perhaps the novelty of the world's rebirth had not quite worn off yet. Glaucon was sure everyone else of the Pantheon had some reason or another not to be here, but it was still sad to see a place so rich with Knowledge so apparently unused. "Ah, greetings." He motioned for his attendant to put the books down on the table. "I came here mainly to return these, they have been in my room for... a little too long, admittedly."Not that it looked like anyone else had been waiting for a chance to read them. Alas. "Though it looks like you were in the middle of something? If that is the case, I will cease my interruptions."

"Ah... That is fine." He nodded, and scanned the spine of each book, expression growing just the slightest bit amused. "We will just put them back where they belong... It is all in the same section."
Well, perhaps not a visitor.
"Oh, that is perfectly fine. I was done, anyway." Well, he had declared himself done, at least. Akakios carefully gathered the pile of books off the table and started to head toward the appropriate section, slow enough so that aoide and god could keep up.

"Easy to guess where my preferences lie, I gather." Glaucon returned the slight smile. Indeed, just about everything he had read was the work of some philosopher or another, all commentary on human nature and society. But the fact that the library's other patron was the one reshelving the books meant he was no mere visitor... no, he worked here. A inkling quickly stole into his mind. "You... wouldn't happen to be the library's scribe, would you?"

Well, was he ? He might as well have been, really, with how much transcribing he had ended up doing, through he had never really presented himself as such, or even thought of himself as such.
"I figure I would be." The first book was placed in it's place, with the young god only needed a quick glance to make sure he was placing everything in alphabetical order. "Endiovar transcribed a few, as did the aoidei, but it was mostly me." No one else had the patience to sit and do nothing but write for sometimes days on ends, really.
Silence had to forcefully kick him out to do something that did not involve sitting in the library more than once.

Ah, Endiovar. Another name on his list of gods to re-meet. It was fitting that the Lord of Silence would find sanctuary in the library as well... his domain was the golden rule of such places, after all. "So you're acquainted with Endiovar... how is he faring these days? Would you happen to know where I could find him?" He figured it would be worth knocking on his door sometime, but there was nothing wrong with more information. And to know that this god was a friend of Silence said much of his character -- they didn't even know each other's names yet, but Lament was already in good standing with the Judge. "Ah, but I should introduce myself as well. I am Glaucon of Judgment, and this is my attendant, Eudocia," he continued with a small bow, and gesture towards the Aoide. "You have done some remarkable work here. If it would suit your interests, I would enjoy a chance to discuss some of this literature with someone."

"He spends a lot of his time here." Akakios reached out to place another book in it's designated spot. "Or with Harmodius." Silence was close to Creation... But Lament certainly had never noticed how close.
"I am Akakios." He introduced himself in turn. "Lament." Not exactly pre-aligned to be a scholar by nature, but it had happened all the same. His desire to write had been a cataclyst for about anything the god did. He gave a polite nod to Glaucon and Eudocia. "I would certainly like to... But I might need to reread them first." One ash-covered fighter tapped at the spine of one book, lightly enough not to leave a mark. "If I remember correctly, these were some of the first books I have transcribed..." He had not really understood the complexities of the texts, back then. For him, a story had been a story.

"I would do well to visit the library more often, then," he observed with a widening of his smirk. "It seems that I am bound to run into good company here."Akakios, Lament... that sounded familiar. "They are worth rereading, if you wish to delve into the thoughts of wise mortals..." It took a moment or two of considering, but Glaucon was able to recall where he had heard of this god soon enough. "Exalla mentioned a Lament. Surely you know who I am speaking of... she would be a difficult individual to forget. She spoke well of you.

"I certainly found it interesting." Almost everything was interesting, on some level. He was always eager to discover new things, after all, but there was only so much of a text like these that he had understood, back then.
Perfect for learning new words, through.
Akakios paused in mid-shelving when Exalla was mentioned, clearly not having expected that. "You know Exalla ?" Well, the andalite was hard to miss, that much was certain. His smile turned fond, through the small bit of sadness in his eyes never left them. "I am glad, I must admit. I find her and her culture facinating. It is all so very different than what I do know." It was really... kind of amazing that Exalla thought highly enough of him to mention him to another god. He was used to be... well. A child. The baby brother.
It was odd, and yet strangely exciting, to me something beyond that.

Well, that was good to hear. There was someone else in this Pantheon who shared his tastes in literature. Though, given how at home Akakios seemed to be in the Library, he probably was fond of any book he could get his hands on -- just as well. He could be just as impartial on some days. "Yes..." replied Glaucon, half in confirmation and half in agreement. "I do hope we will get a chance to learn more. It may be useful information... they are mortals who survived Gehenna, after all." Whether it was by virtue of their ideas or their advanced technology, however, was yet to be deduced. Then he shifted his hands around his cane and leaned with his full weight into it, continuing, "Though I'll admit, there are some things about Andalites I don't find entirely exciting."

"Oh ?" Another book was shelved, the pile in his arms growing smaller and smaller. Akakios very clearly knew where everything had to go, and only bothered to look to make sure he was shelving everything in the right order. "She did not tell me much... I think she was a little intimated. Me and my mother were the first gods she met, I believe..."
As for whose's son he was... Well, it was not really that hard of a guess. He did take after his mother as far as looks were concerned, even moreso now that he had grown - the lips and the markings made it a no-brainer.
"She told me about a mourning ritual, but she did not tell me what it consisted of." That he would want to know more about this... Was, well, also obvious.

"Your mother?" he repeated, a little surprised. The question did not come about from a desire to know the mother's identity, but out of intrigue in the fact that Akakios laid claim was having one at all. So he was one of the New Gods, then... no gem, no host, no fragments of the past to pick up where they appeared... how interesting. "You do resemble Lady Music, now that I consider it. Strange, she never mentioned having a son when I met her."And he looked on the cusp of maturity, too. Just how long had he been around?

Akakios nodded along with Glaucon's guess, shelving the last book and turning to face Judgement directly once more.
"I am. And when did you meet her ?" That might have been before they were born, as far as Akakios knew. He did not know that his mother and the god in front of him had known each other at all. "I have two siblings - a brother and a sister."

Now, there was a good question. When had it been, exactly? It was never pleasant to think back on the specifics of Gehenna, but Glaucon took a moment to rifle through those memories regardless, trying to pinpoint which of those terrible weeks was when he had met Echo. "It was quite some time ago," he admitted, "A few years. Before the End had been halted. It was after demons had stopped pouring in... but I believe before the sky was Eaten."Still not easy to think about, even with the sky renewed.
