Ability One:
Yamatachikata (山裁ち方 "Mountain Cutter")
Katame uses this ability when he gathers reiatsu along the edge of his Zanpakutou. After gathering a sufficient amount of reiatsu, Katame will swing his Zanpakutou outward, which would cause the reiatsu gathered along the edge to thrust outward in a wave, which would then explode upon contact with anything physical. Katame often makes a pun of its name by asking "How does one cut a mountain?" directly before using it.
Ability Two:
Bōdaikō (膨大幸 "Vast Fortune")
Similar to Byakuya Kuchiki's Zanpakutou, Bōdaikō causes Katame's zanpakutou to "scatter," i.e. scatter into many smaller swords that are invisible to the naked eye, but reflect light so as to look like some small object. However, unlike Byakuya's Zanpakutou, Katame's zanpakutou scatters in the form of yen coins. Also unlike Byakuya's Zanpakutou, Bōdaikō will explode upon contact with anything physical, except the other yen coins and will chain their explosions with each other. Katame can control the direction in which the "yen" flows, similar to how Byakuya can control the way the cherry blossoms flow. Before Katame uses Bōdaikō, he often makes a pun out of the ability's name and says "May your fortune be vast."
Ability Three:
Chōjuinochi (長寿命 "Long Life")
This is the one exception to his otherwise explosive Shikai abilities. Chōjuinochi is the ability where Katame forces his reiatsu to condense close to his body in the shape of heavy duty samurai armor. While using this ability, the damage Katame receives from an attack below a Captain's Bankai and any kido technique below #90 is significantly decreased. However, this does not mean that an onslaught of a Captain's Shikai or of kido at #80-89 would not crack the armor given enough time and hits. Even though Katame is clad in samurai armor, he does not wear a helmet. The drawback to this ability is that it makes Katame immensely slow.
Before he uses this ability, Katame often says "May your life be long," which is a pun regarding the ability's name.

Bankai
Bankai appearance: His Bankai appearance is the same as the appearance of his Zanpakutou Spirit's Bankai form. His Zanpakutou have also now changed back into regular katana, but with black blades instead. His left-eye is still blind, but his right eye's eye color has changed to crimson.
Bankai name: Fukujotōkai Juhinanzan
(福如東海 寿比南山 "Blessed as the Eastern Seas, Long-living as the Southern Mountains.")
(Can be translated in numerous ways. Firstly, as what I translated it as above. Secondly as "May you have good fortune as great as the eastern oceans, and may your life last as long as the southern mountains." And thirdly as "May your good fortune and life be as vast as the Heavens.")

Ability One:
Chōjuinochi: Kami no Ruiji-Sei (長寿命：神の類似性 "Long Life: God's Resemblance")
This new form of Chōjuinochi is greatly different from Katame's Shikai version. When using Chōjuinochi: Kami no Ruiji-Sei, Katame forces his reiatsu to take on the shape of massive white wings and a halo above his head. In this form, Katame becomes incredibly fast and strong, but forsakes defense in the process. At the same time, Katame constantly cloaks his Zanpakutou in his reiatsu, which causes each strike to become highly explosive, with each explosion being around eight feet in radius. This is also a double-edged sword in that the explosions can also harm Katame if he is close enough to them.
If one were to cut off Katame's reiatsu wings, the severed piece(s) would shortly afterward explode violently, encompassing a much greater area than the explosions caused by his Zanpakutou strikes. The area would be about three times greater, to be exact. Since the sword explosions are eight feet, that would make these explosions twenty-four feet in radius.
Katame does not speak any puns before using this technique.
Ability Two:
Bōdaikō: Otoko no Seifuku-Sha (膨大幸：男の征服者 "Vast Fortune: Conqueror of Man")
This form of Bōdaikō is different from Katame's Shikai ability under the same name. Similarly to Bōdaikō, Bōdaikō: Otoko no Seifuku-Sha causes Katame's zanpakutou to "scatter." However, unlike Bōdaikō, Bōdaikō: Otoko no Seifuku-Sha takes the form of a platoon white phantoms, twelve in total, but no more than three or four at a time, each with the kanji for "Yen" (圓) burning on their forehead in black flames. Katame then sends the phantom soldiers forward to attack his enemy, and upon coming into contact with anything physical except themselves, the phantoms will explode violently. Again, the explosions can chain once a single explosion has already occurred.
Katame says no puns before using this technique.
Ability Three:
Yamatachikata: Mokusei no Hashira Kakoma (山裁ち方：木製の柱囲ま "Mountain Cutter: Surrounded by Wooden Pillars")
This ability is extremely similar to the Bakudō spell #75, "Gochūtekkan" ("Five Pillars, Iron Weights") in that it summons several fifteen meter (forty-nine feet) tall pillars.
However, differing from Bakudō #75, Yamatachikata: Mokusei no Hashira Kakoma summons eight pillars of wood that surround the target, with the radius of the area being ten meters (thirty-two feet) wide. Each of the pillars is connected by a chain, and several feet (about seven feet, to be exact) below the top of the pillar is tied a shimenawa rope. Katame summons these pillars to entrap an opponent within.
Once they are summoned, Katame uses his reiatsu to form invisible walls connecting to each wooden pillar, which will cause explosions if any living creature within the walls comes into contact with them. After he has successfully done this, Katame will then fire a massive Yamatachikata through the "roof" of the enclosed space at the target, and upon contact with the ground or the target, the explosions caused by the Yamatachikata will cause the pillars themselves to explode as well, causing an explosion about twenty meters (sixty-five feet) wide.
Due to the amount of reiatsu needed for this technique, Katame can only use it once per battle, and often has to cause a distraction before using it to ensure the target has been entrapped.

Dashing: A most basic technique that allows the user to throw him/herself to a certain direction using a certain angle of which way the the stance is directed and executed. Based on an individual's atributes, dashing can be quite a moderately fast move instead of running. Also depending on the distance, dashing can be quite useful if in closer range to the opponent. This technique is basically for all ranks.
Shunpo (Flash Step): A movement technique that allows the user to move faster than the eye can follow. This technique requires a very high level of training, thus a most difficult one to obtain. One, who is of a high lieutenant ranking, must be able to possess Shunpo. Furthermore, it is a most fearsome mid-range/long-range speed known to be the exceeding ability than dashing. All in all, this ability can only be used by lieutenants and captains. For lieutenants it is nearly mastered, yet not perfected. Therefore, it is only of mid-range level 1. For captains Shunpo is of a level 2 maximum ability in which it is fully perfected for both mid-range and long-range.
Air Walk: Another skill, though not necessarily related, is the Soul Reaper ability to walk on air using spiritual energy. By collecting and solidifying spiritual particles beneath their feet, Soul Reapers can gain traction on thin air to either freely move about or to stop themselves from falling. This particular ability can only be obtained from officer level. Furthermore, it cannot necessarily be used every so often, especially for officers. It is an ability that can only be temporarily used but cannot last for a very long period of time. However, for lieutenants, they can stay on air for quite a bit longer and for captains, it can be held for quite a long while considering the great amount of riatsu within a captain ranking individual.
Senka (Flash Blossom): Although Shunpo is connected with this ability, this technique possess a unique name and style of its own. This technique is known as Senka (闪花, Flash Blossom), a flash step combined with a spin to quickly move behind the enemy, followed by a strike aimed to destroy the saketsu chain and the hakusui soul sleep with a combination of two quick thrusts. This technique is one of the two, that Youruichi developed mixing Shunpo to complete its ability. Furthermore, only certain individuals, of high ranking captain level can possess such an ability.
