"...Are you sure you want to do this?"
"Of course I am. If you have any problems with it, then scram. I didn't ask you to come."
A young, white cattaur with grey spots padded alongside an older, black, female cattaur as she led the way. Though the smaller one appeared to be a child tangled in ribbons, he was older than he looked and had followed Leila once he'd heard of her intentions. He had looked after her since she'd been an infant, after all. There was no point in stopping now.
"You really haven't changed much, have you?" he murmured, watching her stride forward purposefully.
"Who asked you?" Leila snapped back. "All that matters is that I'm going to see Jaegar. He likes me the way I am."
As a child, Leila had been vicious, wrathful, selfish, and even covetous in her youth. Her worst trait, however, had always been jealousy. Matteo had always believed that the black cattaur had never had enough confidence in herself, despite the tough act she put on. He simply hadn't paid much attention to it then because he'd figured she would have grown out of it by now.
What he hadn't counted on was her tendency to stay away from others and thus never really learn how to properly communicate or interact with other taur. Though she was a full adult now, mentally she was still very much like a child - the opposite of Matteo, with his adult mind in a child's body. This made her that much harder to teach, scold, and discipline.
Not only was she bigger and stronger than him now, but as an adult, she was far less open-minded and willing to learn new things from others. At least as a child she had shone some affection towards a few others from time to time, but even that love seemed to have been gone from her now. Though she said she 'loved' this wolftaur she kept talking about, all Matteo could see was the jealous rage in her eyes. How could someone like that know the true meaning of love...?
Matteo worried for her sake as well as for the sake of those she interacted with. It was for that reason he had come along, though he dared not tell Leila this. Instead, he pretended to seem casual about it, claiming that he'd just wanted to go for a stroll and that he could have used her company.
"So, uh...where are you going to meet him?" the pygmy cattaur prodded gently.
The black bad-luck cattaur shrugged her shoulders. "By the stream, I guess. It's the closest water source around."

Twigs and Branches snaps as a wolftaur walked through the place. It was clear to see that he was nervous about seeing his beloved Leila. He hadn't seen her so long since that night. He tried to show her that he was still strong. Small nervous whines could be heard from him.
A full grown calico cattaur was walking along with him, being just slightly smaller than him. "Jaegar.. It is alright, brother. You will do just fine." She says towards him, trying to console him.
The wolftaur who was called Jaegar looked towards the younger feline and sighed. "I know.. But I cannot help but be nervous, Niamh. You know how she is. I know she agree to meeting me at our spot but I don't know just what will happen...."
Soon, the both of them was by the stream. Niamh was laying on all fours on the bank by it. While Jaegar was on the rock where he usually polish his dagger with some sort of oil that he makes from certain fruits and roots.
