Character Name: Scott Summers
Codename: Cyclops
Age: 26
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Powers:

Cyclops's eyes not only are organs that utilizes the visible spectrum of light to see the world around it. They are are also inter-dimensional portals between this universe and a non-Einsteinian universe where physical laws as we know them do not pertain. This non-Einsteinian universe is filled with particles that resemble photons, yet they interact with this universe's particles by transferring kinetic energy in the form of gravitons (the particle of gravitation). These particles generate great, directional concussive force when they interact with the objects of this universe.
Cyclops's mind has a particular psionic field that is attuned to the forces that maintain the apertures that have taken the place of his eyes. Because his mind's psionic field envelops his body, it automatically shunts the other-dimensional particles back into their point of origin when they collide with his body. Thus, his body is protected from the effects of the particles, and even the thin membrane of his eyelids is sufficient to block the emission of energy. The synthetic ruby quartz crystal used to fashion the lenses of Cyclops's eyeglasses and visor is resonant to his minds' psionic field and is similarly protected.
The width of Cyclops's eye-blast seems to be focused by his mind's psionic field with the same autonomic function that regulated his original eyes' ability to focus. As Cyclops focuses, the size of the aperture changes and thus act as a valve to control the flow of particles and beam's relative power. The height of Cyclops's eye-blast is controlled by his visor's adjustable slit. His narrowest beam, about the diameter of a pencil at a distance of 4 feet has a force of about 2 pounds per square inch. His broadest beam, about 90 feet across at a distance of 50 feet, has a force of about 10 pounds per square inch. His most powerful eye-blast is a beam 4 feet across which, at a distance of 50 feet, has a force of 500 pounds per square inch. The maximum angular measurement of Cyclops's eye-blast is equivalent to a wide-angle 35mm camera lens field of view (90 degrees measured diagonally, or the angle subtended by holding a magazine's pages spread open, upright at 9.5 inches from your eyes). The minimum angular measurement is equivalent to the angle that the thickness of a pencil would subtend at 4 feet (3.5 degrees, about a quarter of an inch viewed at 4 feet). The beam's effective range is about 2,000 feet, at which point a 1-inch beam has spread out to 10 feet square, and then has a pressure of .38 pounds per square inch. Cyclops's maximum force is sufficient to tip over a filled 5,000 gallon tank at a distance of 20 feet, or puncture a 1-inch carbon-steel plate at a distance of 2 feet.
The extra dimensional supply of energy for Cyclops's eye-blast is practically infinite. Thus, so long as Cyclops's psionic field is active (which is constant), there is the potential to emit energy.
The maximum force of Cyclops' optic blasts are unknown, but a commonly given description is that he can "punch holes through mountains", and he has been shown to rupture a half-inch thick carbon steel plate. During a particular battle, Scott says that he hit Cain Marko (a.k.a. the Juggernaut) with enough power to split a small planet in half. In one instance, his beams can cut through Adamantium, a previously indestructible metal. In the mainstream continuity of the Marvel Universe, it has also been implied that Cyclops only utilizes a fraction of the energies at his disposal. During the Civil War, Cyclops is controlled by another mutant to use his powers at their full magnitude. When directed at the energy-absorbing mutant Bishop, Cyclops was able to overload Bishop's powers in a matter of seconds. When Iron Man measured Cyclops's power while he was powering Bishop, he found the energy output was well over 2 gigawatts, larger than a large nuclear reactor. While escaping from the Shi'ar Empire with Polaris, Cyclops was able to destroy the Shi'ars defense fields within seconds; proving that Cyclops optic blast is able to penetrate even through kinesthetic force fields.
Spatial Awareness: Cyclops possesses an uncanny sense of trigonometry, in this sense used to describe his observation of objects around himself and the angles found between surfaces of these objects. Cyclops has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to cause his optic blasts to ricochet and/or reflect off those objects in a trajectory to his liking. This is commonly called a "banked shot" when applied to this talent. Cyclops has been observed causing beams to reflect from over a dozen surfaces in the course of one blast, and still hit his intended target accurately. It is his sense of superhumanly enhanced spatial awareness that allows him to perform these feats as well.
Energy Resistance/Absorption/Redirection: Cyclops is resistant to the effects of his own powers. However that power mutated in his secondary mutation when facing against the Red Queen, where he can now absorb most types of energy directed toward him. This mutation enhances Cyclops status as a Mutant to an Omega level mutant. He can then rechannel it through his body for his concussive blasts. Whether it's potential or kinetic energy, Cyclops is able to absorb them including Storm's weather effects and Jean Grey's telekinetic powers. This rechanneled energy is apparently able to damage beings normally immune to their own powers. The nature of his powers makes it difficult to damage him with energy-based attacks, while also enabling him to work well with any energy-using teammates. He can also store absorbed energy within his personal reserves, where upon the energy increases his strength and recuperative abilities, as well as affording him a measure of invulnerability. The upper limits of his ability to enhance his own physical abilities with absorbed energy is not exactly known but is well into the level of being super human. This makes him extremely difficult to defeat in battle, as every blow struck against him only makes him stronger. Unusual tactics are required to defeat him, usually by incapacitating him or by attacking him psionically. He is learning to use his energy to temporarily increase his physical attributes in a manner similar to Sebastian Shaw and Agent Zero.
- Upgraded Concussive Blasts
- Superhuman Regenerative Healing Factor
- Enhanced Strength
- Near-Invulnerability
Abilities:
Expert Pilot: Cyclops is an expert pilot of fixed-wing aircraft, a skill he appears to have inherited from his father. It has also been implied that his trigonometric sense improves his abilities in the air.
Expert Vehicular Driver: He is proficient in driving cars, motor cycles, trucks, jets, tanker, helicopters, motor boats, sub marines, and some types of trains and utility vehicles.
Master Strategist, Tactician and Covert Operative: Cyclops has spent most of his superhero career as the leader of either the X-Men or X-Factor and has developed exceptional leadership skills. It is notable that regardless of their general attitude towards him, nearly all of the X-Men tend to obey his orders in battle - because they know that he's usually right. Due to his experience traveling the world and working for various government agencies, Cyclops is also a trained expert in multiple types of weapons, vehicles, computer systems, explosives, and assassination techniques.
Expert Martial Artist: Cyclops also has extensive training in martial arts and unarmed combat, holding black belts in judo and aikido. His level of skill is sufficient to defeat six normal men with his eyes closed.
Unparallel Will: Due to the constant mind control that he experienced earlier in life, Cyclops became a very strong-willed person. He is able to overcome most forms of temptation and resist the effects of extreme pain, drugs and toxins to a great extent. Cyclops heavily accepts his own mortality, and refuses to rob any sentient creature of its freedom. He is also capable of resisting all forms of mind control; only the strongest willed individuals have a chance of enslaving him (Charles Xavier), but even then it'd be difficult to control him.
Understanding and "Cracking" the Fourth Wall: Hey, being on the same team with Deadpool does something to a man.
Expert Marksmanship: He is an expert marksman skilled in throwing weapons and firearms, but operates more efficiently without them.

Equipment:
Cyclops' Visor: The mask Scott wears to prevent random discharge is lined with powdered ruby quartz crystal. It incorporates two longitudinally mounted flat lenses which can lever inward providing a constantly variable exit slot of 0 inches to .79 inches in height and a constant width of 5.7 inches. The inverted clam-shell mechanism is operated by a twin system of miniature electrical motors. As a safety factor their is a constant positive closing pressure provided by springs. The mask itself is made of high-impact plastic. There is an overriding finger-operated control mechanism on either side of the mask, and normal operation is through a flat micro-switch installed in the thumb of either glove.
A separate pair of lenses were also designed for Scott to use while sleeping.

Scott was drawn to a mutant criminal known as the Jack O'Diamonds. Jack O'Diamonds sought to use Scott's new found talent in his crimes and physically abused the young boy when he initially refused. However, Scott's display of power had attracted the attention of the mutant telepath Professor Charles Xavier, who teamed up with F.B.I. agent Fred Duncan to find Scott. Scott was rescued from Winters' clutches and was enlisted by Professor Xavier as the first member of the X-Men, a team of young mutants who trained to use their powers in Professor Xavier's dream for human/mutant equality.
In the School for Gifted Youngsters the X-Men were tutored by Professor X and trained in the use of their powers in the Danger Room. Xavier provided Scott with visor made of ruby quartz to help him control his powers in the field. As Cyclops, Scott became deputy leader of the X-Men. While he was a skilled tactician, Scott's social skills were lacking.
Scott's first intimacy began when he met the young Lorna Dane after she was identified as a mutant by Cerebro and discovered that she had green hair after Lorna stepped out of the shower. Lorna's magnetic powers emerged when she was controlled by Mesmero and subjected to a 'mutant energy stimulator' device. Cyclops and Magneto were convinced that Lorna and Magneto were father and daughter, due to the similar natures of their powers. He provided evidence that convinced Lorna that her true parents had died in a plane crash years earlier and she turned against Magneto, who was revealed to be a robot double. Lorna returned home with the X-Men and, eventually, joined the team. In the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, the X-Men were tutored, by Professor Charles Xavier, and trained in the use of their powers, in the Danger Room. For a while, Cyclops and Lorna were intimately enamor with one another. They both served for a time as active X-Men. During this time, Professor X revealed himself alive and enlisted Lorna and Scott Summers' help repelling an invasion by the alien Z'Nox.
A short time later, Scott and Lorna fell under the mind-control of the Shi'ar Intelligence agent Davan Shakari, also known as Erik the Red. They were turned against the X-Men and attempted to assassinate Professor Xavier. A massive battle ensued at Kennedy International Airport with the duo battling the X-Men. Shakari managed to escape with both Scott and Lorna. They were both eventually freed from Shakari's control and stayed at Muir Island for their recovery. While there, Lorna and Scott were attacked by henchmen of The Living Pharaoh and Lorna attempted to contact the X-Men, but received no answer and contacted Beast in the Avengers. After arriving in New York, Spider-Man came to their aid and accidentally knocked The Living Pharaoh into a containment unit, that was to be used to make Cyclops a living battery to magnify the Pharaoh's powers a million fold, and he was transformed into the Living Monolith again. Lorna was swept out to sea and Monolith was beaten by Spider-Man and Thor. Thor promised to locate Lorna and return the couple to Muir Island. After returning to Muir Island, Scott and Lorna aided the X-Men battling Proteus. Afterward, they settled in New Mexico, where they completed their advanced degrees.
The plan to stay out of the affairs of the outside world did not last long as Professor X called on Scott and Lorna for help in the rescue of the friends and family of the X-Men from Arcade's henchman Miss Locke in Murderworld.
While living in the Rio Diablo Mountains of Northern Mexico, Scott and Lorna stumbled upon a Brood Star-shark. After Scott showed up to check on the X-Men, Storm ordered Psylocke to erase the event from his memory, but, due to Professor Xavier's mental defenses, he remembered and, after reoccurring nightmares, Scott left Lorna to again check on the X-Men. Scott learned that Magneto had joined the Inner Circle of the Hellfire Club. Unable to believe that the X-Men had joined the Hellfire Club, Scott followed Magneto to the Morlock tunnels where he learned of the massacre from the Marauders and the loss of teammates, Nightcrawler, Colossus, and Shadowcat. After an initial battle, Cyclops asked Magneto to accept him as an X-Men and rejoined the team. Storm decided that, in order to safeguard their friends and families from their many enemies, the X-Men must fake their deaths and become an underground proactive strike force.

Later, the Marauders ambushed Lorna and her mind was overtaken by an evil being, known as Malice, while Lorna saw Scott off to check on the X-Men. As Malice, Lorna led the Marauders for a few months, first attempting to kill Cyclops' teammate, Jean Grey, while she was lost in a hospital, and battled Cyclops and the X-Men. Malice's energy matrix was very compatible with Lorna's powers and the two became grafted together, apparently inseparable. When Malice attempted to leave Lorna, Mister Sinister informed them that he was aware of the connection and that was why he suggested their union. Later, Cyclops tracked the Marauders, in The Alley, and the X-Men ambushed them. The Marauders fled and Polaris, controlled by Malice, returned to Mr. Sinister. Mr. Sinister was attempting to learn all he could from the X-Men and X-Factor and, thoroughly went-through the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Following Mr. Sinister's psychic trail, Marvel Girl tracked him to the school and the X-Men and X-Factor were ambushed by the Marauders. While interrogating Polaris/Malice, Mr. Sinister destroyed the school. While the X-Men and X-Factor battled Sinister and Malice, Sinister attempted to claim Polaris, but Cyclops seemingly killed Sinister with an unchecked optic blast.
After Mister Sinister was seemingly killed, Malice's hold over Polaris weakened and Lorna was able to place a phone call to the X-Men in Australia for help, but they arrived too late. Lorna was with her alleged half-sister Zaladane, a priestess for the Savage Land's Sun People. The X-Men arrived in time to witness Zaladane's getaway, but Cyclops managed to infiltrate her army in disguise while the X-Men followed. There, the X-Men found that Zaladane had amassed an army of Savage Land natives who were being mentally controlled for her by Worm, one of the Savage Land Mutates. Zaladane revealed that she was in fact Lorna's sister and, using the High Evolutionary's machinery, stripped Polaris of her magnetic powers and took them as her own. The process also managed to finally separate Lorna and Malice. Zaladane and her forces clashed with Ka-Zar and the X-Men, who were trying to free Lorna. After a grueling battle, Zaladane's army was released from Worm's control, and Lorna regained her freedom.
Having nowhere else to go, Lorna headed for Muir Island, where Cyclops decided to leave the X-men to follow Lorna.
Lorna and Scott were then asked to join the newly formed Government X-Factor by Valerie Cooper and, tired of hiding out on Muir Island, the two accepted. Lorna and Scott were set as its leaders. Joining X-Factor offered her the chance to start up a relationship with Scott, but their relationship remained largely unresolved. Since this time X-Factor had changed dramatically, and so had Polaris and Cyclops, the later which is having more difficulty to try and converse with Polaris. They tried to maintain the relationship but they broke up and reconciled multiple times. Polaris became a mainstay of X-Factor and became the government's secret weapon against a possible attack from Magneto.
Malice returned to bother her once more but Cyclops and Polaris, out of their love for each other, each tried to absorb her, preventing the other from being possessed. In the end, Malice perished at the hands of Mister Sinister.
X-Factor's atmosphere changed as criminals Mystique and Sabretooth were forced by the government to join the group. Cyclops began to question his place on the team and finally found his suspicions to be justified after Sabretooth ran amok almost killing the whole team. When Cyclops was about to leave X-Factor, he stunned everyone when he asked Lorna to marry him. Polaris accepted, and then the two of them left the team to reconnect and go for their honeymoon.
Scott and Lorna returned to the X-Men some time after, at the request of Storm, when she grew concerned about the mental well-being of Professor X (who had returned sometime prior). Not long after returning to the team, Scott and Lorna soon found themselves embroiled in Apocalypse's bid for cosmic power, by assembling "The Twelve" - a group of mutants who would determine the fate of their kind that included Scott, Phoenix, Iceman, Professor X, Storm, Magneto, The Living Monolith, Bishop, Polaris, Sunfire, Mikhail Rasputin, X-Man and Cable. To secure a new host body, Apocalypse sought to collect the mutants he required to carry out his plan and siphon the awesome energies of "The Twelve". They were wired to a machine that would channel the Twelve's awesome energies into Apocalypse, allowing him to absorb the body of Polaris. As his teammates fell around him, a powerless Scott saved Polaris and merged with the would-be conqueror to create a new evil entity. Jean detected Scott's psyche inside Apocalypse, which prevented the X-Men from destroying him, however, he was presumed dead by most of his teammates. Only Polaris, and Jean refused to believe that Scott had perished.
Investigating rumors he was alive, Polaris and Phoenix found Scott in the birthplace of Apocalypse in Akkaba, Egypt, struggling to reassert her mind over the villain's psyche. Ultimately, Jean was able to physically rip Apocalypse's essence from Cyclops body, using her mental powers, and Polaris destroyed Apocalypse with his own powers, but was slain before Apocalypse was destroyed. Devastated, Scott left the X-Men with Polaris in his arms.

Not long after, the X-Men's Danger Room became sentient, attacking the X-Men and seeking to ultimately kill Prof. Xavier. Calling itself "Danger", "she" revealed that Prof. Xavier knew she had been self-aware, since the Shi'ar technology was installed in the Danger Room years ago, but chose to ignore her, effectively, inhumanely using her only to train his teams of X-Men. After her defeat on the island of Genosha, the X-Men abandoned Prof. Xavier on the island in disgust and Cyclops stated that he no longer needed Prof. Xavier's input at the school or with the team, proving that Cyclops still hold a grudge for not believing that Polaris was still alive when she was a host for Apocalypse.
With few mutants left after M-Day, Cyclops suggested to open the Xavier Institute’s estate as an internment camp, set up for any mutant who needed refuge; everyone agreed, as only five percent of the mutant race was left. Jean, after deciding and discussing with Cyclops and the X-men, declared neutrality on the subject of the superhero Civil War, reasoning that the X-Men sympathized too much with Captain America's side - who, like the X-Men, were persecuted for wanting to do the right thing - but believed that the mutant race had suffered too great a loss recently to take a side either way and simply needed to focus on survival.
When the first new mutant baby was born since M-Day, the Marauders and the Purifiers tried to claim her. Jean had a team of X-Men track down the Acolytes while Cyclops sent X-Factor members, Jamie Madrox and Layla Miller, to Forge's lab. Scott also sent Rictor undercover, to the Purifiers. While Jean has high hopes for the Professor to help the team, Cyclops told Prof. Xavier to leave the mansion, due to his interference with the the team's direction. Cyclops stated that him and Jean needed to lead the team as he was trained and recruited to and asked if it occurred to Prof. Xavier that, for him to take the reins, Charles would have to stop driving. Upon discovering that Cable had kidnapped the new born mutant, Cyclops ordered the reforming of X-Force, with Wolverine leading the team, to hunt down Cable and retrieve the baby. During this time, unknown to the X-Men, Bishop had infected the O*N*E Sentinels that guarded the mansion with nanites and in the fight that ensued, the X-mansion was destroyed. The search for the mutant messiah ended on Muir Island, where Prof. Xavier convinced the X-Men to allow Cable to escape to the future with the baby. Cable teleported to the future, just as Bishop fired a round at the child. The shot missed her and hit Prof. Xavier in the head. Cyclops struck Bishop with a destructive optic blast that nearly killed the time-traveler. Jean, in grief, declared the X-Men disbanded.
Scott returned to his cabin where Polaris grave was, but received a call from Warren that he was needed in San Francisco. Afterward, Cyclops was successful in rescuing San Francisco from the mutant known as Goddess. As a result, the Mayor of the city, Sadie Sinclair, offered to help the X-Men reestablish themselves in the city. After building a new headquarters, Graymalkin Industries, and a brief battle against Magneto and some Sentinels, Cyclops sent word to all the world's mutants that San Francisco, which had welcomed the X-Men with open-arms, was now a safe haven for mutantkind and that all were welcomed to join them. San Francisco's population openly welcomed the X-Men, even though a resurrected Graydon Creed and assorted other previously dead foes, began pushing to outlaw mutant reproduction. The new anti-mutant propaganda caused an explosion of hate crimes on mutants and former mutants.
While at the Graymalkin Industries, Storm joined with Cyclops, Jean, Emma, Wolverine, Beast, and Armor and the group checked-on a mysterious death, that seemed to be mutant related. After following a trail of mysteriously genetically-created mutants and death, the X-Men finally ended on Wundagore Mountain. There, they confronted Forge, who revealed his true madness. Forge endeavored to save the world from the Annexation, an invasion from a parallel world on the other side of the Ghost Box, the trans-dimensional teleporter, and planned this by sending the X-Men to the parallel universe that was home to the Ghost Boxes, to destroy them before the Annexation could begin. After forcibly opening the Ghost Box, risking all life on Earth, Abigail Brand and Beast fired a world-destroying laser into the opening of the Ghost Box. Before everything could be destroyed, Ororo offered Forge a chance to come back with them and Forge screamed of his rejection by Ororo for marriage and she let him go. Forge remained in his complex as it was destroyed and seemingly perished in the ensuing laser blast. She was later possessed, by the Shadow King, to kill the X-Men, in an attempt to force Storm to choose between being an X-Man or the ruler of Wakanda. After being shot down by his Optic Blast, the Shadow King left Storm and Cyclops revived her with C.P.R.

Footage of Cooperstown, Alaska from Hope's birth was eventually released to the media, by Simon Trask, designed to deceive the public into believing that the destruction was caused by the newborn mutant messiah rather than the Purifiers. The footage, coupled with Trask's newly formed Humanity Now!, lead to violent rioting from mutants against the anti-mutant coalition in San Francisco. Though supported by the mayor, as well as showing Jean as the leader of the X-Men, Cyclops was largely viewed as the leader of the remaining mutant population by the media and he took the brunt of negative media and public opinion, implicated as endorsing and sending the X-Men to lead the rioting. Trask capitalized on the hysteria, portraying Humanity Now! as victims of oppression, in order to push Proposition X. Norman Osborn utilized the Dark Avengers to stop the riots and ordered the arrest Jean and her team of X-Men, calling in Emma to lead a new team of Dark X-Men.
Confused, Jean asked for Scott's advice. To her shock, he told the telepath to arrest him instead and join Osborn's team. Taking advice from both Emma and Storm that Scott's actions are always in the best interest of mutant-kind, the two agreed to lead the team, and would answer to Osborn, as his Black Queen while Jean was his White Queen.
Scott's plan finally came together, as he had Magik teleport X-Force into H.A.M.M.E.R.'s Alcatraz Island, where they took on the Dark X-Men and Dark Avengers, while Magik teleported all the captured mutants, including Prof. Xavier, to safety. X-Force was aided by Emma, Jean and Namor, who revealed themselves to be double-agents against Osborn. Immediately after, Scott had the X-Club resurface Asteroid M, which crashed into Pacific Coast a few years prior. Cyclops then ordered Magik and Pixie to teleport every X-Man and allied mutant to the asteroid, which he now called Utopia. During a press conference, Cyclops informed the world that they had left the United States and that they rejected Norman Osborn and his methods. Magneto soon joined the ranks of X-Men, stating, humbly, that Scott "succeeded where Charles and I failed" in uniting the mutant race. Scott, while at the press conference, returned the leadership to Jean Grey and to Magneto much to the shock of the crowd. He tells them, "My hands is stained too much with blood to even consider myself to even be close to be with these children."
Scott retired from the X-Force and was on his way home, when Colonel Nick Fury contacted him about a mission; to track down Mystique and permanently take her out. Scott was hesitant, but nevertheless agreed to take the job. He tracks her first to Iran, then to Afghanistan, before he is ambushed. Mystique then shapeshifts into his form and proceeds to kill an unknown Afghan woman. When Cyclops finally arrives at the scene, others begin to shoot at him, allowing Mystique to escape. Later, she impersonates a nun in Baghdad, where Cyclops tracks her to a bar. After learning why he is chasing her, she escapes to another part of Iraq. She shapeshifts into the Iraqi mistress of Senator Miles Brickman , allowing her to kill and impersonate her former husband when he comes to visit. Cyclops finds a way to get into the military base to get close to Mystique in her Brickman disguise. When he finds her in Brickman's quarters, Cyclops calls Mystique a coward, and goads her into a fight, but she escapes yet again.
Scott then tracks Mystique into the desert, and she is naked to show him that she is not a coward nor is she ashamed of herself. After some explosions and shooting, Cyclops finally gets closer to her and a fight ensues. Mystique tells him that the X-Men kept accepting her into the group only for her to betray them. She tells them that it is only her nature and that Cyclops will also betray them sooner or later. Cyclops is shot while Mystique is constantly being blasted by his Optic Blast. Injured, Mystique shoots Cyclops visor off which blinded him for a few seconds. She crawls away until Cyclops finds his glasses and awakens only to find her yet again. She tells him to just kill her but instead takes her to the hospital and let the doctors treat her. When asking why, Cyclops responded "Because I'm not part of the Weapon X project, nor am I part of SHIELD. I'm just Cyclops, former member of the X-men and widower. A mother like you should know what I'm talking about." With that he left her with a warning not to come back to the states, until she finishes recovering.
Scott was in Kasas, on his way back to New York to return to Lorna's grave...when...
Extra: Scott is a widower, he is considered an Omega Level Mutant after his second mutation.
