Cordero and his small family had been wandering the rogue lands for quite a while. Although they hadn't known another life as that was where they were born, just like their mother had been. His very tiny blue eyes focused on the morning sky above. His mother had left him and his siblings in their den for a short time so that she could go out and hunt in order to be able to bring them food. They were still a bit to young to eat meat though. Thankfully for them their mother never strayed far when she did hunt for fear of something happening to them. Although Cordero sometimes wondered if his mother was as worried about him and his brother as his sisters. However, despite her issues with males he felt like he and his brother had made a special place in her heart that allowed her to love them. Maybe it was just the bond between mother and child but he didn't care. All he knew was that he was attached to her leg no matter what. Yep, he was a very shy cub who definitely needed the comfort his mother gave him.

Finally Cordero decided to venture out just a short distance from the den to a small puddle of water from the night before when it had rained. Soon it would dry up but it still wasn't quite hot enough for it to evaporate or soak into the dirt completely. The small tan cub dipped his brown maw into the water and drank a very small amount.

Ammon was a very handsome young male who was just really starting his life. His adventures in the rogue lands had been brought on by his sister Nefertari leaving their pride in hopes of a life of her own. Ammon was always the dutiful son, however, when his sister left all the reasons he had for staying as well went with her. His sister was his companion in everything but that was to be expected as they were the only two who had a different view from their family. Although since Ammon had found himself wandering the lands for his sister he realized that he really was the worst tracker in the world. Which made it even harder to find her when he couldn't even track her scent.

The thin but muscular male let out a soft huff as he neared a small mound of rocks that appeared to have a den in it's center. "Finally." He grinned. "There is a place to rest." He added. However, the male stopped in his tracks when he noticed a tan cub with blue hair drinking from a puddle not far from the den. Curiously the male sniffed at the air and realized he had stepped into a females territory and that she had obviously had a litter of cubs recently. He had no intention of cubnapping them or causing anyone harm but he was exhausted and lonely. Maybe at the very least he could talk to the cub and find out if it was safe to stay or not. With that Ammon ventured over to the cub and smiled pleasantly. "My name is Ammon. Are you staying here?" He asked even though he knew the answer.

The cubs body froze but his head remained free from the utter terror he felt effecting the rest of his body. His head turned up and his eyes focused on the stranger. This was definitely not good. Who knew what the male had up his sleeve or what his attentions were. He seemed to smile like a fool though. His legs trembled and his dark brown tail curled underneath him as his ears pinned back. He simply nodded his head before stuttering. "M--m--my m--m--m--mother i--is ju--ju--just over there." He closed his eyes and gulped quietly enough that the male couldn't hear but to him it seemed like it could have caused an earthquake. His mother had warned his siblings to fool any trespassers and make them believe that she was just stalking behind the brush. Hopefully her plan would work as he had no desire to be killed or cubnapped, let alone let his siblings be. However, he knew he was no match for someone of his own size let alone this large male standing before him.

Then he quickly decided to answer the males question, believing that it might further help him. "Y--y--yes." He answered as he closed his eyes and took in a couple deep breaths as if trying to calm himself down, sadly, it didn't work. Cordero opened back up his baby blue eyes and focused them on the male. He probably couldn't run away fast enough that the male wouldn't catch him but if he went for his siblings he could run and get his mother. The idea of leaving them behind did not sound at all like something he would ever want to do but staying would probably be the worst option as his mother wouldn't have anyway to find them again or know who took them.

Ammon frowned for a moment at the cubs response. He didn't mean to make him so frightened, in fact, Ammon hadn't known he was scary at all. Maybe this cub was just unusual? That was probably it. Either way he didn't want to worry him more then necessary. Instead he back up two steps and sat down, hoping that the room would help calm the cub. "Don't worry. I won't harm you or your siblings. Nor your mother." Ammon smiled once more, this time making more effort to show how sincere he was. "I was hoping to find a place to rest but I can see my idea isn't going to work here. I'll just have to find another place." He nodded. He wasn't sure after he had said it why he had said it out loud but mentally shrugged it off. "I won't harm you." He repeated. "I won't move from this spot." Ammon paused and let his orange eyes survey the cub. "Have you seen a lioness that looks like me but with more stripes on her back, purple toes and hair?" He asked, hoping that at least he could get a lead out of the cub. It also gave him the chance to take a small break and actually converse with someone else. It was certainly a nice change. However, Ammon knew he couldn't stay but a few moments more lest he wish to feel the wrath of a mother who thought he might harm her cubs.

When the male took a few steps back Cordero did the same and then he felt more at ease. His breathing even slowed to a normal pace but his scared demeanor remained the same. "I--I--have not s--s--s--s--seen her." Cordero said with a small frown. Who was this lioness he was looking for? Did he think she was lurking nearby? That wasn't a good sign. When his mother returned he would have to warn her that they needed to move or else more like him could turn up, or worse. "Why--are--you--looking--for--her?" Cordero said very slowly so he wouldn't stutter. He wanted to ask why he would look for a lioness that looked like him, thinking that he wanted to be romantically involved with this female. Maybe he was some kind of incest freak or something. That didn't seem likely. He had never met someone like that before and his mother said that it was very very rare if at all for it to happen. Something told the small cub that Ammon wasn't the type of lion to fall for a relative.

The cubs response to his question was expected. Thus far everyone he encountered had not seen his sister or heard of her. The latter seemed to be good due to the fact that he didn't want to see his sister become one of the rogue females who sleep with any male that will have them, however, it also meant that he had no leads. This was getting really aggravating but at the same time Ammon had grown used to the fact that he might not ever see his sister again. It was a truth that broke his heart but a truth nonetheless. "She's my sister. A short time ago she left our pride for rational reasons and I decided that since she had left there was no reason to stay. I just hope to find her and especially before it's to late and she becomes one of the females who name is whispered in these lands because a few males tricked her." He gritted his teeth a bit and then sighed. "Do you think... If you see a lioness like I explained, Nefertari, could you tell her that her brother Ammon is looking for her?" He asked. If he could get out word that he was looking for her then she would be able to find him no problem. She was an excellent tracker.

Cordero nodded and gulped a little. As sad as it made him to think that Ammon was missing his sister, he also knew that if he saw her it probably wasn't a good thing. After all, if she could find them then anyone could. However, he knew that if something happened to one of his siblings he would probably do the same thing. "I--w--w--will--try." Cordero said, leaving a small wiggle room for himself just in case. Who knew what kind of female she might be if he did encounter her. By the looks of Ammon she probably wasn't that bad. All of his siblings had similar personalities so he of course assumed that Ammon and Nefertari would have similar personalities as well. Feeling slightly bold Cordero perked his ears up ever so slightly and decided to ask his own question. "Have--you--s--s--s--seen--a--b--b--b--b--blue--male--with--black--hair?" Cordero asked, drawing on what his mother had told him and his siblings about what his father looked like. It was the only information he had to go on.

Ammon wanted to burst with joy as he cuddled the small cub but instead he kept all his joy inside as he didn't want to frighten the poor guy more then he already had. "Thank you." He smiled, tears almost welled up in his eyes. Even though it was futile it made him feel better to think that there was at least one other person out there keeping a look out for Nefertari. At the cubs question Ammon focused his attention up to the sky for a moment as he thought. "No I haven't." Ammon said as he lowered his head back down and focused on the cub. "I'll make sure to keep a look out for him. Who is he?" Ammon asked curiously. Apart from the cubs blue hair he didn't seem to fit the description of the male in question. Ammon couldn't wrap his mind around why the cub might ask about a male with that description but decided that the reason didn't matter.

"My father." Cordero said as clear as day. He wasn't going to indulge this male with the details, mostly because he really didn't know them himself. His mother tried to keep his father a secret for reasons he didn't understand. Just as Cordero was going to ask another question he heard the sound of his siblings waking up in the den. His eyes grew large as his head turned to look at the den, then back at the male. Ammon needed to leave before they saw him. His mother would blow a fuse if she heard that Cordero had talked to a stranger when she had specifically told them to not say a word beyond a warning to anyone. Besides, this male could just be putting on an act. Cordero gulped louder this time, loud enough the male should have heard him. "They can't s--s--s--s--see you." He said with a shaky voice before backing up once more, this time towards the den. With one quick fierce look Cordero turned from the male and rushed inside to monitor and distract his siblings.

"I see." He said with a nod. So the cub was related to him. His mother and father must be separated for whatever reason. With a look at the cub he knew that asking him any further questions about his father would be futile and he didn't care to know all the details unless the cub was willing to share, if only to ease his own suffering. Ammon's eyes shifted towards the den at the same time Cordero's head turned towards it. His eyes refocused on the cub when he returned to look at him after backing up towards the den. They couldn't see him? Why not? And then it clicked. His mother. If the cubs saw him who knew how they would react to him and let alone how the mother would when she saw him here or heard he had been here. His smell near her den was going to cause her enough alarm as it was, why cause more? Ammon nodded and smiled. "See you again cub." He said, realizing as he turned away and once more began on the search to find a den to rest in that he had not gotten the cubs name. Oh well. Maybe one day he would see him again and could ask.
