Recruiting had been easier than Acubens had expected. She knew there were other senshi just as lost an confused as she was, but she really hadn't expected them to be this easy to find. It was really amazing, actually. She didn't have a solid team yet, and they other members probably hadn't even met one another, but the idea that she had a next step in her plan had Acubens grinning form ear to ear. Hell, she was even able to ignore the faint distress at her current situation with Lesath for a while.
It was truly lovely.
She didn't even really mind the stillness of the spring evening, creating a more winter-like chill. She shivered, yes, but it didn't irritate her. In fact, it sharpened her focus. Like those martial artists in the movies who meditated under water falls. It put a spring in her step and made her bounce a little more when she walked. She even elected to take a stroll through the deserted shopping district.
All and all, Acubens was feeling really nice that evening.

Albireo was out and about, though she wasn’t intending to fight anything tonight. No, she just had wanted to take a walk, and thought she would be safer like this than as a normal girl who could be attacked by anything in this dumb city.
Her green eyes were closed as she walked, then finally just stopped, sitting against a wall, drawing in a deep breath. She hated so many things. She really did. Being powered…having these responsibilities sucked. Having to carry the weight of what others like her had done…that sucked too. Having that love/hate relationship with Jarosite, that sucked too. Honestly, the very, very best thing about being Albireo was Dahlia. Even if Pippin was supposed to be her cat, or so he claimed…she felt such a strong connection with Dahlia…
The senshi gave a sigh, then opened her eyes. She felt someone moving close, and knew it wasn’t an agent of chaos, or a youma. She stayed put. If they wanted to come talk, they were free too, if not, they could just move along.

Acubens felt the powered signature of the other senshi a little later than she should have. Once more, she was lost in her head, and not paying any attention to what she was doing. One day that would get her in trouble. But not this day, it would seem. The power signature was decidedly order, which made Acubens move forwards towards it. Patrolling with two was always more fun. And safer. Acubens needed safter, especially so soon after her encounter with that youma. Thankfully, her fuku hid the stitches; she didn't need that conversation. Still, she found herself toying with the ridges every once in a while through the fabric.
She was lost in her mind again when the senshi came into view. Time for Acubens' new favorite game. What's That Sphere. She waved as she took in the other senshi's fuku. Green, very ballerina... what are you? Dance? No, too obvious. In the end, it was her brooch that gave it away for Acubens. Swans. She held out her hand once she was close enough, announcing, "Hey there! I'm Acubens, Sailor Senshi of Velociraptors." She still wasn't that good with introduction.

Albireo blinked, looking the girl over. That was a pretty neat bow…and…The girl sighed. “You’re lucky. You have shorts under your skirt. I used to have bloomers…but then they decided not to come back when I upgraded…” She took the hand and gave it a little shake.
“Sailor Albireo. Senshi of Swans. Guess it’s nice to meet you and whatnot. You know, I’ve been told that we shouldn’t patrol alone and blah blah blah. Clearly I’m not the only one who doesn’t listen to those cryptic warnings.”
The brunette dropped the hand now and glanced at the sky. “Not that I was even patrolling. I’m just out walking. Thought it’d be safer to go like this, I guess. I don’t know.” She was rambling. Rambling to a complete stranger. Well…she supposed if Pippin was here, he’d be rolling around foaming at the mouth. Two animal senshi at once, in one place. The girl bit back a groan, very glad that pippin wasn’t around for this. She wasn’t sure she could handle the cat.
Why was she so against someone that was supposed to be helping her? It just didn’t make any sense..

Acubens looked down at the mention of her pants. She too was grateful for it, seeing to how her attacks were all running based. She'd hate to have her knickers hanging out when she ran. Did she even have knickers? Acubens made a mental note to check some time...
The mention of her sphere made Acubens grin. So she was right. Not that it was particularly hard to determine from the fuku and brooch. Dance or Swans, Acubens really only had a fifty fifty chance of not guessing correctly.
"I normally patrol alone. But then again, I haven't really made many friends to patrol with. Just... a lot of enemies. " Acubens grinned sheepishly, scratching at her arm absently. A lot of enemies...
"But even if I normally go it alone, I wouldn't mind having a companion. Wanna maybe spend a while with me?"

Albireo nodded. “Sure, I suppose. It couldn’t hurt, after all. I’m sure it would be easier to kill a youma with another person with me.” She gave a small laugh and began walking again. “So. You like being a senshi? You have enemies? Me too. One really vicious one named Painite. If you ever see her. Run. Run away and don’t look back.”
Her voice was serious, and slightly frightened. “Painite scares the living daylights out of me. And she’s very close to being absolutely insane.” The senshi looked to Acubens and gave a small smile. “So really. If you ever meet her. Run. She’s a short chick with a spear and really…uh. Interesting outfit. She has a lot of gears on it. I think it’s called…steam…something? With the gears? Steam goth? Steam…whatever. Steam something. What are your enemies like?”
Casual conversation. Albeit strange conversation, at least it was…conversation with someone that was on her side of the war! That was something, right?

"Like being a senshi? No. Not so far. No one has given me any direction or told me what I'm supposed to be doing what so ever. Do I recognize that I was awakened for a reason? Yes. My enemies? On my own side." Acubens didn't even both her shame. "When I first awakened I was so angry. This cat wouldn't put up with my reaction. Looking back, I don't blame her. I sort of... no, I really lost my s**t." Acubens winced at the memory of her, falling into the dirt like some poor, lost girl. She had the strength then to pick herself up and work... but for some reason... she refused to do so.
"Steampunk," Acubens offered as Alberio struggled with the name. "My brother had a phase with that. It did not end well. God, he always ends up looking like such a tool." She laughed light heartedly at the memory.

“Oh. She nodded. “Well. Glad to know I’m not the only poor sap who hates every minute of being a senshi. Very good thing to know.” She listened to the story about the cat, and for a moment, wondered vaguely where Chloe had gotten too. That little guardian who had awoken her…Albireo hadn’t seen or heard from her since. Ah well. That was so long ago…almost a year…
She nodded. “Steampunk. Yeah. That stuff. Her outfit is very steampunk…y. Steampunky…”
Albireo wasn’t sure what else to say, so instead chose to fall silent, walking, eyes moving to stare at the ground.

"I guess I worded that wrong," Acubens muttered, pulling at her lower lip. "What I mean is that I don't like that I don't have any direction in where I'm supposed to go. I don't like being so uninformed. I don't like being tossed a weapon and told to fight." She kicked a small pebbled down the road, watching it skip about. "I don't hate being a senshi. I just... don't like it, you know?" Acubens shrugged again, catching up to the pebble and kicking it again.
"I think... it'd be easier if there was a place for senshi to go where they could learn about their places. Kind of like a Senshi 101... you know? That why I'm starting the team I'm working on. No one deserves to be alone."

Albireo stopped walking for a moment, looking at Acubens. “You’re…making a team to help…with senshi who don’t know what the hell they’re doing? That’s…pretty cool.” She idly wondered why someone hadn’t thought of such a thing before. To be honest, it sounded like a good way to meet people and form those bonds that would help to keep you alive in this war. Huh. What an idea.
“Do you have a lot of interest in it? What’s the name of it? Do you think I could join in? I need all of the help I can get, I think…Even if I have been doing this for almost a year now…” She gave a little laugh then sighed, tugging on one of her long bits of hair that hung by her face. “I still hate it though…I really do. Every day I think. I think I wish I had never been made into a senshi.”

The sudden barrage of questions made Acubens back up a little. She grinned at Alberio's zeal about the concept. "Well... right now it's just a concept. Really, you're the first person I've told about this team. It's been sort of... gestating in my mind for about a month. It seems silly that it hasn't actually happened yet. If you want... you could be like my... my second in command, I guess. You can help get the word out there. Get this operation off the ground." Acubens grinned her awkward grin as she spoke, scratching her arm again. An unconscious tick she developed for when she was nervous.
"I'm not asking anyone not to hate it. I'm asking them to do their duty, is all. It like... some people hate going to school... but they go because they have to. Patrol because you have to. Because your family depends on it. That's what I want people to understand most... Either do your job or don't henshin up in the first place..." It sounded harsh but... that really were the only two options.

She hesitated. Did she really want the responsibility of being a second in command for a group of people who were supposed…to be lost and confused…when she was doubting life at every turn? Albireo gave Acubens a skeptical look and shrugged. “I don’t know about your second in command. But I think I’d like to at least help out with this group…”
She broke off when the lecture started and just nodded. Sure. That was great advice. Go patrol. Go stick your neck out for a bunch of useless people, who were too stupid to stay inside when the sun went down.
Albireo sghed. “Yeah, I know, I know. Anyway, I should be going, I’ll see you later, Acubesn…Ah…” She took out her Senshi Phone and snapped a picture of the other senshi. “We should patrol sometime. It’ll be good for us both, right? Right. See you!”
The senshi took off then. Left before she could say something stupid, and ruin this chance that she had of at least finding some other senshi who didn’t know why they were senshi…
It would work out. It had to.
