With his nose quivering with fear, he blinked standing at the border of neutral and evil. Something seemed to be calling him to his homelands where his father lived. Flighty. One of the only ones who he actually knew. Odd thing how how companion, Regalia, knew of his father and shared a large part of their past together.
This was a night of a full moon and it was about the same day that the foals were born, all under the same parents and innocence. He did not even care if they would not show up, but he hoped that he and his siblings would come together this night. A night of trying to catch up in the lives of one another.

Raz was on patrol at the very border of the herds territory. He had no idea where his father or his younger brother were. He thought he remembered hearing something about his father going to visit their mother again. He wasn't asked to accompany him, so it was only here say as far as he was concerned. This was one of the rare occasions when he was on patrol by himself. They'd been giving him more solitary duties of late, and he assumed it was because no one else cared to spend time with him. He really didn't do well in the company of the other members of the herd.
The moon was full overhead, and he was having no trouble seeing at all. As he turned to head back the way he had come, he caught a glimpse of movement out of the corner of his eye. A flash of white, like that of a lightning strike, but there was no lightning on this night. Not a cloud could be seen in the starry sky. He stood silently, not moving, waiting to see it again. There it was! Movement not far to his left. He watched the Azrein, not sure if it was one of the herd, come to check up on him, or if it was an intruder to their territory. As he got a better look at the stallion, something about it caused a stirring of memory in the back of his mind. Did he know this one? Had their paths crossed at some point in his past? The moon took that moment to cast its light down upon the rocky ground, and it was then Raz realized who it was he was watching. He'd no seen his little brother Karit since he had left his mother, to go live with his father and youngest brother. What was he doing here? Raz had to know. He took off at a gallop, closing the distance between them in no time at all.
"Brother," he called out, "well met!"

The sound of pounding hooves began to grow louder and louder. Was there going to be an ambush tonight? Clearly the followers of the Six would have to had grown crazy if they believed that a lone stallion would be able to arouse so much trouble? What was even the threat of being near the border when he was on HIS side?
As the azrein could see clearer, a spark of purple began to show. Could it be? No. Wouldn't he have looked well, more vicious looking? The stranger ceased to call him brother, which gave Karitoriki an awkward feeling growing inside. He trotted forth until they were a head apart from one another. He took the time to examine him. So much memories together, but so many to be told!
"It's been a while Razien." he whickered. "Oh my! I've missed you so much Big Brother!" The feeling of family was running into him once again. This was a while since they've met, after all. Looking around, his voice shook. "...Father? and Nasu? Are they...?"

He rubbed his head against his brother's in greeting, and then pulled back to look him over more closely. He'd grown up well, and had filled out in all the right places. At the mention of the father and youngest brother, he could only reply, "I've no idea where they are. I'm supposed to be on patrol. I've no idea what Nasu is doing, or where he might be. He wasn't allowed to come on patrol with me tonight. I heard some talking, saying father had gone to see mother. You know nothing of this?" He wondered if his brother was still living with his mother and other brother. "Wait, where's Eri? Did you leave him at home with mother?"

He was clearly confused. Patrolling alone? Wasn't that well, not safe? He snorted with nostrils flaring. Everything looked the same in this land, except much less appealing to his taste. This was once his home, so he'd have to get used to being here more often. But the idea of killing and violence was not one of his top thousand priorities of his book.
"I'm sure glad that its you on this patrol then! Who knows what would have happened if it was someone whom I would not have recognized!" Now was time for another question. "Mother? I.. I haven't seen her since a few days after we split up. Eri and I err.. did not want to enter her lands because we did not want to choose between which parent to stay with."
The reaper then laughed. "No offense Raz, but you don't sound so tough to be a follower of the Six!" With this, he began to wonder if the evil allianced were not all evil at all. What if some were just living in the lands? "Weird how Father would go visit without telling us, huh? Do you think that he's finally going to change his alliance?"

Eri was traveling alone like he had been for quite some time. He had not seen his mother, father, or brothers in such a long time. He had decided that he might risk going into the land of the evil azrein just to see some of his family. It was because of that desire he had come to the borderlands. He wondered how he could track down his father and brothers here without drawing to much attention to himself. Would they even know him? Perhaps not but that wouldn’t stop him from trying to see them.
Seeing two Azrein in the distance as he walked he thought he might as well start by speaking with them. He couldn’t make them out from this distance so he took his time with his approach trying to figure out what he should say. Simply saying he was lost and had no idea where to go might invite them to think him a gullible fool. Still there was something about outright lying that would bother Eri. He was an honest Azrein and that made life hard at times.
Still it was that honestly that allowed him to meet the lovely Genevieve Sue and be able to speak with her at his own leisure and peace. Feeling his mind start to wander as he thought of her; Eri pulled himself back to reality with a jerk of his head and a stamp of his hoof. He couldn’t afford to daydream if the Azrein he was walking towards were the kind that liked to attack strangers.

[ooc: I was not aware that you and Eri had ever lived with the father and the other brothers, in the evil azrein territory. I had the impression from the rp prompts we had to go on, that he only brought the two evil aligned sons with him, and left the other two with their mother.]
"I didn't know you and Eri weren't living with mother. When Father brought Nasu and I here to live with him, I assumed the two of you were going to stay with mother." Karit's next statement made Raz stop and take notice. Was it so obvious that he didn't cotton to everything the Six and their followers stood for? He certainly hoped it was just because he was Raz's brother, and had known him during childhood, that he was able to see it. If others in the herd thought he felt this way, he could be in real danger.
"I don't believe Father will ever change his allegiance to the Six. But why he continues his association with Mother is beyond me. They are all, 'kill those aligned with the King', 'kill the humans', yet he continues to see her. And why do you say I don't sound tough? I'm here with Father and the herd aren't I?"
As they were talking, Raz had continued to keep watch, which was why he noticed another Azrein making its way slowing toward their location. This nights watch was becoming a busy one. He decided it was best to alert his brother to the stranger approaching, in case he needed his help. "Someone is coming. Be alert. We don't see many Azrein not in the herd this far south. Two of you in one night is unprecedented."

Whoops. Sorry for the misinformation Shanra. :L
He felt uncomfortable being pressed with the question that Razien questioned him. "Because you have not yet dared to challenge me in a battle or something." he felt out of place hearing stories about the evil ones. What if what Regalia told him were just stories to scare off foals from accidentally crossing territories?
Hearing the warning, he grew firm and ready to charge if needed. Regalia never taught him self defense, so it'll have to be up to his older brother to save the day, or shall he say night. "Father loves Mother, that's the only reason I can think of." he snorted staying at his brother's side. "Mares are just weird creatures!"
Staring at where Raz was, his eyes strained to see who it was. Mostly orange and white the stranger seemed. Just by scenting the air, it was easy to tell that it was a stallion around their age. Something gave him a twitch of familiarity. Maybe it was... Nah. Could it be?

"Challenge you? Why on Azreth would I want to challenge you? You're my brother after all. I'd sooner challenge Father, than you. No, wait...I take that back. Father would wipe the ground with me," and he gave a snicker. "But you are right about mares, they are fickle things. If it weren't for the fact that we need them to create more of us, there'd be no reason for them. And I believe things would be a lot simpler without them. Sometimes they can make a stallion do foolish things." He left it at that, as he was not yet ready to speak about his encounter with the Capra, not even to one of his brothers. The stranger was approaching them at a slow, and cautious pace, but as he got closer, for it was now unmistakable that it was in fact another stallion, something began to tickle him in the back of his mind. "Are you sure Eri didn't know you were headed down this way?"

"I haven't seen Eri in a while, but there might have been a connection between us for you and I are here, so why won't it be a coincidence if the others meet us here tonight?" Taking in his brother's words, he nodded, approving of everything said. "Yes, more of us. Imagine us being fathers!" he laughed finding the idea just simply absurd. "Maybe we should introduce ourselves to that stranger?"

"I suppose anything is possible," he replied. The mention of them being father's once again brought back the memory of his recent encounter with the Capra, Freezia. He wondered if his rather impetuous act had resulted in any offspring. Her kind were rather rare in the land, and he wondered what any offspring from that union would look like. He was still pondering that when his brother suggested they go meet the stranger coming toward them. "Why not," he said, "we may just be pleasantly surprised if it is Eri." So being the oldest, he took the lead and led the way. It didn't take long for them to realize they had been right in their assumption; for it was indeed another of their brothers. "Eri!" he called, "it is your brother's, Raz and Karit! Well met brother."

He twitched his ears. "Yes, anything is possible." Eri? He knew it was him! Pounding away from Raz's side, he charged for his other brother. It has been a while since they have been here. Together as one, after all.
AHAHAH. I just found out that we're using the same color. x3
It was dark and it was over. He struggled to manage to slip away from the herd just for a while. Oh, that Voltaire kept on tormenting the little guy. How on gentleman that act was. And with him viewed as a useless azrein? Walking around, he knew that Razien would be nearby the borders for his lone patrol. Foolish of Flighty to leave the two of them here without consulting them first. Would their father even reach their mother in safety? That was all he had hoped for since the lawless one's departure.
Did he manage to hear his brother already? He heard shouts as if he was in trouble. Nasu, being his cautious, and friendly self, hurried to reach his brother. All he could think about was that it was an ambush. What if another herd had revolted against his brother? Reaching the verge of the border, he saw two other azrein. He found it weird for Raz not to attack for it wasn't natural to just mingle around with strangers unless they were new recruits. But adults wanting to join? He found that absurd.

(OOC: omg the weekend was horrible. I’m sorry I couldn’t get on. Also Eri did live his mother but he leaves from time to time to explore a bit on his own. But poor Karit wouldn’t know if Eri stayed or not if they came and left at separate times. *totally making the situation plausible*)
Eri was surprised when he heard his name called out. He trotted toward his brothers only to have Karit meet him partway. He neighed loudly in greeting and kept moving toward Raz. “Hello Raz. It seems you’ve saved me from quite a bit of trouble. I was trying to figure out how I could enter the shadowed lands and meet up with you, Nasu and father without drawing to much attention to myself.” With Raz around it would be much easier to cross the lands safely, or perhaps he could stay and have Raz inform his father and brother of his presence if Raz couldn’t take Eri with him through the shadowed lands. Eri really wasn’t sure how things there worked since he never really crossed into that land. He looked at Karit. “How goes it Karit?” He felt much less tense knowing that he was with family. He was surprised how his brother Raz had grown up but he thought he might look just as strange to them. “Raz I’m glad you’re looking well. What’s it like living here in these lands?” Eri wondered if Raz ever ventured into the neutral lands. If that was the case perhaps they could all get together sometimes as a whole family provided Raz could drag Nasu and their father with them. It would be nice to see the whole family together at once.

"Then you are indeed lucky that I happened to have patrol duty this night. Karit here has also just arrived. Seems you both had the same idea, even if you didn't know it. But Father is not here, and I have no idea where our little brother is. He could very well be with the rest of the herd for all I know." How should he answer his brothers next question? He didn't want to let on that he was not at all comfortable living here with their father, but he didn't want to lie to them either. They were family after all. "Life here is hard brother," he said, "Much harder than it was living with Mother in the North. We are expected to follow the rule of the Six, and their rule is not an easy one."
He turned suddenly, and focused his attention on a sound that he had heard coming from the direction of the herd. It would not bode well for one of the older males to discover his two younger brothers here. They might be his siblings, and their father's sons, but they were not aligned with the Six, and therefore considered enemies. "Stay here," he instructed his brothers, "Someone comes, and I need to see who it is before they discover the two of you. Wait here for me." He took off in the direction of the sound, hoping it was someone he knew well enough, so he could explain away his brothers presence. The moon came out from behind a cloud at just the right moment, and Raz felt a weight lifted from his back, as he realized that the noise had been made by his brother, Nasu. He waited for the youngest of the four brothers to reach him.

"Everything's good with me Eri. Just that I have been continuing my wandering with an azrein that I would somewhat call a mentor to me." he thought over Regalia. Sure, the conceited stallion would consider this wanderer a friend too? He trotted back to the group of three. "Odd how we're gathered here like this, don't you two think so?"
He walked towards his brother. Now why wasn't he in trouble like what it sounded like? "I'm glad that you have won yet another battle brother!" the youngest congratulated. Noticing that there were no visible injuries, he blinked in wonder. "Or were the strangers just at the border by mistake? I'm certain that I have heard a cry from you."
Nasu was clearly confused and naive of what was happening this night. "Say, maybe we should just stray away from the herd tonight and search for Flighty and Savina? I'm sure that they wouldn't mind us barging in on whatever reason that they're meeting up." The simple fantasy of meeting his long lost mother once again was like the only thing that this fragile one wished for, other than having the family as one of course.
