Today like most other days Tori was in the labs doing some of her research and the first thing that she had done was to write up some notes from the computer. Once that she had gotten what she had wanted off the computer in her notebook Tori had gone to one of the tables with a book that she had brought with her to make some more notes from the book.

Tori was total in the zone of reading and making notes, she was also not listening to her weapon with his nagging that he would rather want to go practice than reading. Every now and then she would look up from the book she was reading to make notes in the note book but the writing wasn't normal writing most of her notes were in short hand writing and in a personal code that she had made when younger to keep her parents from know how she felt about things and information that she wasn't was forbidden to her under there roof and when she even had to make reports she had to be careful not to write in code.

As Bix looked over her shoulder and she still oblivious that he was even there. He could clearly see her notes in the notebook that was set to the side as she was reading the book.

Making little humming sound as she thought over the page she was looking at and Tori really didn't know that she did make this sound since it always happened when she was deep in thought. Just as she was reaching for her notebook to make a few more notes then she heard...

"BOO!!"

To which scared her a lot that made her really jump in her seat at the 'boo' and the sound of his hands hitting the table to which was really shocking and with the jump had also sent her falling backwards in her chair and as she was trying to save herself and failing as she flipped her notebook right into Bix's face as she fell to the floor with a plop.

On the floor still sitting in her now fallen chain she started to giggle. Rolling out of the chair still giggling as she picked herself off the floor. "You got me good Bix and its good to see you as well," she said with a smile. "Also I got promoted too," she added.

'Thanks," Tori said with a smile as she took the offered hand to help her back on her feet. She really didn't care if Bix scared her as even her phone going off when she was deep in thought would do the same thing or even Aklin had done it a time or two to get her attention.

Tori didn't give it a second though when Bix closed her notebook since she just thought it was just him being polite or something like that as if he really wanted to know what was in there she would have told him.

"Yep you are right, I have been ever since the labs and the Library were cleared up," Tori answered as she should have before done more helping out clearing out of the insanity creatures to which she needed to do sometime soon. "Well I have had a few fights already and well you caught me since I have a weakness for books and it was nice to have access to them again. But I sorta have started up training again slowly and should be doing more of that then reading," she admitted sheepishly with her weapon also chewing her out for less books more training with the promise of lots of those awkward questions that she didn't like to answer.

"Right now I'm studying up on myths and legends that I'm not really familiar with along with just reading any book that looks interesting to me," Tori answered since she did love to read and she knew that there were some books that people found dull like the dictionary or encyclopedia which she loved to read every now and again.

"Its no bother at all," she replied with a smile as there wasn't too many people that knew that she loved to read anything she could get her hands on but she was ok with that. "Its one thing that my parents couldn't take away from me since they wanted me to learn many things. Also its a way that I relieve stress as bad as that sounds when I should be doing more practicing with Aklin. Don't worry about it I don't mind at all, Bix. I also want learn all that I can and there are times that I just can't help myself from not reading and Aklin has to keep reminding me that I do have to do other things besides read. Sometime soon you will have to tell me what books that you read so that I can read them as well since I know that they would be different than to what I have read in the past," Tori said and really not giving it a second thought to why Bix wanted to since she thought that he just wanted to know more of what she did.

"I have read a few of those but mostly old world stuff. I did one read the Lord of the Rings was as close to fantasy books that I got," Tori replied with a smile as that topic of books she was very willing to read sometime later on. "So do you have any recommendations on books?"

"Yep I do!" Tori said excitedly as that was one of her weakness, since she loved learning new things and she thought over the last part of what Bix said.



Tori just smiled and chuckled to herself. "Yes, I would. I grew up with politics and know how sometimes you have to be ruthless to get what you really want," she answered no waver what so ever. She would in fact do anything for something she wanted even kill, because her hands were already red. Also she would have never thought this way as she had always been the pawn in the political games her parents played, but coming to the island changed that way of thinking somewhat.

Tori smiled sheepishly as Bix leaned on the table. "Well your right about that, I'm not really but I do know how if I ever have to be," she replied. "My mother was the ruthless one and one that you didn't know was one unless you got in her way. For the most part I was her pawn in those political games for her to gain as much good social standing as she could and so I had very little say in what I wanted to do as I got older. But now that is all in the past and even she would hate the new birthmarks I have gained," she added.

"Well that would just have to be something you would have to live with and hope that you would be forgiven for what was done or in some way to make it up to them. But then having true friends is new to me and I think that I would feel bad, as I know how it feels to be on the being used end since most people I thought were friends in my old life just wanted to use me to have a better social standing or for the money,"

"Don't be sorry its all in the past and what is done is done. Even at one point I thought it was normal and I even craved my parents attentions. But after some painful lessons I learned that it was wrong and money really can talk if used right. I'm just glad to be free and here with one of my best friends," Tori replied with a smile. She could also see that Bix had a sorry look to which she grinned a little as she reached over the table and poked his forehead. "None of that, Bix. Things are better now so don't worry," she said as she smiled more when he perked up again.

"That sounds fun, as we haven't had a spar before too," Tori said excitedly.
