The dragon he had not seen since… what felt like forever. They had parted ways more or less after the trails and Israfel understood it. He’d been a brat, a stubborn one at that, and now…his friend was dying. What had taken Riley was now effecting Jericho and likely unless they found a cure, the was looking to share her fate. To go insane and attack them all, only to turn to stone and leave them behind.
He didn’t bring a gift, only his mind and his words. Even if they deeply disagreed about hunters, the fact Jericho was dying was not something the siren could ignore, even if he wanted. He’d yet to see the grey markings, but for Shehk to be worried… Shehk was motherly in her way, and a deeply caring person. To know she worried only deepened the concern. Arriving at the dragon’s dorm door, the siren gave a knock, calling out. “Are you home Jericho?”

Lately, it was fairly uncommon or even rare for Jericho to not be home. Today was no different in that regard. He turned towards the door, hearing the knock, but soon frowned as he heard the voice that accompanied it. Ever since the whole ordeal at the Haunted House, he had not been completely happy with the Siren. He had sooner stuck him rather than deal with the hunter.
Getting up, he made his way to the door and opened up, staring at Israfel.
"What do you want?" he practically grumbled.

As Jericho opened the door, for a second, Israfel felt small. The dragon looked older not as much in body but a certain weariness, of one who had to much to carry. That also might have been the siren projecting a bit but ear wings fell back to his head as he looked up at the one who taught him to fly.
"Shehk... told me." He shifted a bit, his wings crossing behind him back. "That what befell Riley is shared by you." Concern was evident in his voice. "If.. you will allow it, it might be better to discuss it in your room rather than the hall? I promise not to be ah..." A blush. "As eccentric as I have been in the past."

Jericho glanced away as the topic of insanity was brought up. It wasn't something he particularly enjoyed to think about. Though, he soon narrowed his eyes at the Siren, noticing something different about him already. His word choice.. was not quite what he would have expected from him. He hadn't been around when Israfel first matured so this sudden shift had him a little wary.
"Prove to me that you're really Israfel," he growled, "You don't talk like him."
Other than him acting weird, he looked and sounded like the Siren. But, what if this was some weird hunter technology that they had yet to learn about? Paranoia was rising in him.

Looking up at him, Israfel cocked his head at the question. What was with the whole proving he was himself thing? Did some students get replaced by robots? That would be most unsettling. In any case, his cheeks puffed up and his feathers did the same. At first there was a bit of upset that the dragon didn't think he was really him but then it hit him.
They hadn't spoken since the whole... event at the house. The puffed up looked faded. "Sorry, um..." Maybe there really were robots replacing students. "Wayyyyy back we went to Christmas... and.. we fought." He blushed, slightly embarrassed. "And I was drunk and wanted to make the reindeer a free bird."

While the Siren stood there with his cheeks puffed out, Jericho just waited. Maybe he did have an impostor on his hands here. However, Isra had spoken just in time, bringing up an old memory that no hunter would have known about really.
Now relaxing, he let out a slight huff before stepping aside to let him in.
"Alright. You've... changed," he murmured. He didn't know what had happened to cause such a thing, but this was him alright.
"Sorry if I seem.. guarded. Can never be too careful," he added with a grumble.

At least Jericho didn't think he was a robot. He didn't want to have to hurt himself to prove he was made of metal... and not the FEAR kind either! Stepping into the room he smiled.
"Of course I have changed. I- well I was a bit past overdue for maturing really. It is just... difficult to accept things some times." Earwings were still down, and he shuffled his wings. "It's alright really I ah... can't blame you. They took her away..." His voice going smaller, he barely managed a whisper. "They might try to do the same to you."
Still, Israfel wanted to know what was going on, and, how it had happened. He'd never noticed it with Riley, but Jericho too? He almost didn't think it possible. He didn't want it to be possible. "I thought we should talk even if... I upset you last time we did." Upset to put things mildly.

Closing the door once he had entered, Jericho let out a sigh as Riley was brought up as well. Though, there was a quick spark of anger within him.
"They won't take us away," he snapped suddenly, "They cannot take us from this home.."
A low growl emitted from deep within his throat, but it slowly settled as he managed to calm himself down. It wasn't easy keeping himself in check. He already had a temper outside of the influence of the Insanity. It just made it worse.
"Well then, let us talk."

Oddly, the flash of anger from Jericho put the siren at ease. Jericho was someone who would fight, and if he didn't want to go? Israfel would bet they would have to take him dead or near dead, (though the thought of Jericho dead was worse than anything else at the front of the Siren's mind). "They won't take you because aside from you fighting, I am sure Shehk and the others would fight to keep you." He looked the dragon in the eye. "I would fight to keep you." There was a conviction there, even if they were not going to be friends for whatever reason, Jericho was still someone who meant something to him, and no amount of anger or disagreements would change that.
Sitting himself down with a plop, he looked at the pile of treasure, wondering why it was not bigger. He mad a mental note to send Jericho some seeds. "Well, how about we start with the basics? Like...How did it start, when did it start and... have you tired anything to stop it?" Worry was evident as his fingers picked at the lace on his shirt. "Could I..see?"

This was true. There were those who would fight with him. He wasn't alone in this. Regardless, Jericho still felt a sense of unease on the topic. He didn't want to have to fight for that. Not right now. Fighting at the moment could lead to some disastrous results if Malodore's theory was correct.
"We don't know how it started. It began in the first October. First the voices came... then around Scarentines the grey began to show," he murmured while spreading his wings to show off the grey patches more. Those were the easiest to spot without him needing to remove any clothing.
"We didn't know how to stop it. Still don't really know for sure. No amount of rest or anything helped. It just progressively worsened."

That far back. That long ago... and he'd never known. Suddenly, Israfel felt like he'd somehow let the dragon down, that he had failed him for not knowing sooner. Him and Riley both..."I had no idea..." Riley had kept it a well hidden secret, as had he. The siren was reluctant to admit he might have seen something yet dismissed it in his forced ignorance.
The wings made a small choking sound come from the siren. Jericho had been the one to teach him to fly, who had in a way, saved the siren. To see the one who had given him flight have his wings tarnished in a way they could not be easily hidden pained Israfel. "Jericho..." He reached out to touch the wings but pulled back, unsure. "I'm sorry." His own wings curled around him as his voice grew quiet. "I'm so so sorry. I never... I'm sorry. I...."
The thought of Riley, and how he'd sang to her and how nothing seemed to have changed. But that was when she had been.. "I could sing? I don't know what it migh do if anything but I could try. I.... I will do whatever I can to help you. Jericho...This should not have happened. None of it should have happened."

Averting his gaze from the other, Jericho folded his wings back now that he had seen them.
"We didn't want people to know. We still don't want it to be known. It would be bad if the boogeys found out," he said before meeting Isra's eyes, looking a little confused.
"Sing..? We don't know how singing will help. We think the only way to quell the insanity is with humans. Not Hunters. Real Humans."

Cooing, there was a nod followed by a small shudder. "No, telling others would be.. bad. I might be occasionally foolish, but I am not so moronic." Gently, the edged closer.
"I sing and... when we sing we are supposed to cause fear, to harm but.. when I sang I never wanted that, I wanted people to love my songs, to find comfort in them and.. so my song changed." A smile of sadness, his wings shuffled. "I heal with my song Jericho. Or, at least I try. I tried with... her and..It might have been too late."
Still, he was always willing to try, he was try as much as it took if needed. "And hunters are humans, just very bad for scaring. But.. you don't mean like... eating humans do you?" He really hoped not.
He REALLY hoped not.

"If you really want to we guess," Jericho said. It couldn't hurt, but he didn't think that it was going to help all that much. This wasn't a simple wound that could be healed normally.
"No, though we're sure that if we went around eating them, we'd get fear from them. It's the fear we need. Maybe. We hadn't had any humans outside of hunters to test it out on."
The dragon wouldn't mind getting a bite out of one. Just to see what they tasted like.

He wanted to try. He dearly wanted to try and hope that it would work, even when it very likely would not help at all. Without hesitation, the siren began his melody, deep and robust, very unlike the soft neutral voice he normally spoke with. The song ended rather quickly as far as songs go, but, it was still nice for Israfel to be able to sing as he could.
"Eating humans is very bad Jericho. It only would make matters worse." Never mind Israfel had given up human. That he'd eaten it himself before he understood the ramifications it could cause. "Harvest FEAR though.. that is a start. Have you tried to apply for a passport or mentor yet?"
