Exhaustion tugged at the edges of her mind and sweat trickled down the back of her neck. She'd been training. Hard. On her own. With only Vashi to coach her and assist. Which was just how Fini had wanted it. Because she felt like they needed to build their bond back up. Or make it stronger than it was before.
Her hair was twisted up on top of her head, to keep it out of her face or from hanging down her back. Minimal clothing was worn, with her coat and scarf neatly folded along the ground.
:: Are you sure you want to go at this again? :: Vashi murmured in question.
"Yes." She spoke aloud, in a quiet yet determined voice. Even though her knuckles were cracked and bleeding, fingers numb from holding onto her sais so tightly.
She could still hear those things said to her. The ones from those she felt could be friends. A swift strike followed this complete with a 'thunk' as one sai was embedded in a scraggly tree. No... She couldn't allow herself to be affected by all that.
But trusting...is so hard! And finding a friend...?
:: You are an excellent person. Why doubt yourself because the baby and his friends couldn't play nice? ::
Fini sighed, walking over to pull her sai out of the tree. She moved over to her coat and sat down heavily next to it, holding out her hands to eye the damage.
"Nothin' a few band-aids won't fix up." She muttered, oblivious to anything or anyone around her.

He found her at the edge of the training field, looking as though she were barely keeping herself together.
Gale had spent the past several days working on getting himself back together and figuring out his own priorities - and by that, he had not even talked to anyone else that he had brought with him on the mission back to the Sahara. He worried about them, of course, but he had somehow felt as though they needed their space. Despite the fact that he desperately wanted to see them - all of them - Gale had kept his distance, out of respect for their need to rest.
Now, however, although he was not searching for her, he found Fini anyway as he made his way across the Deus Ex grounds, hands slipped into the pockets of his new coat, this time trimmed down to the correct size. She was sitting beneath a tree, her hands to her face, and at first Gale did not say anything, stopping silently in front of her.
"...hey, Fini."

The sound of a voice that was not Vashi startled her, hands moving from her face and blue eyes looking up widely to see Gale. Then she felt herself sort of freeze up, not sure what to say or why he was here. It didn't help either that she still hadn't been able to get the words out of her mind that the others had said. Or hadn't said. Or...damnit, she didn't know. Confused. She was very confused.
:: You miiight want to respond, precious. Or the baby might think you're angry or something. :: There was dry amusement lurking in the undertones of Vashi's low voice.
:: Stop calling him a baby. ::
Vashi was right though, she probably should say something quickly. Or else Gale would walk away. And for some reason, she really didn't want that. In fact, she kind of wouldn't mind his company. He was, after all, her first friend here.
"Hey, Gale." Fini smiled. Followed by some awkward silence. "Congrats...by the way. On your promotion. You deserved it." The hint of a real forming.
"Wanna...take a small break with me?" She offered after a minute, gesturing to either side of herself where he could sit.
