The city of Okentro has always been an armory for the wealthiest kings of the land. They share pride in their crafting skills so deep that one without skills for forging could bring shame to a house (family and relatives). Any in search of proper weaponry would find themselves overwhelmed with great crafts that could baffle the best of the century. The city walls are low, for no man would be mad enough to attack a weapon crafting city, and it's stone buildings are built high to carry every man and woman of each family in a single house, as is tradition.

The city is lead by a system of houses, or families. The top house is the primary house of nobles. Nine of the houses join together each month to determine the allies of nations, though it is often a simple case of whom holds the largest wallet. Houses gain in rank by displaying wisdom, or skill of the forge. If your house would rank in a range of ten higher than another, then the lower house would treat you with respect as they might a king.

The terrain surrounding the city is rocky, and covered in sand. To the north there lies a mountain range that blocks the passage of travelers, and forces them to take a path that takes months to traverse. The reason no one attempts to climb the cliffs it the rumor of the beast dwelling at the top ridge, feeding upon the weary.

The Striped Demon

After a tiring, yet fruitful journey from the Thieve's Haven, Kat arrived in Okentro on foot. It was a good thing she was no mere human, because she hadn't ate a single morsel the whole trip here. She walked on all fours through the streets of Okentro, knowing if she was caught for stealing, she would be killed. The demon sighed and climbed her way on top of one of the building and stared at the humans below her, searching for a suitable target. She wouldn't steal while the streets were so busy, but she needed to very soon, for her ribs were beginning to show after 3 days of not eating. She sighed and just watched the beings walking around under her. "Pathetic humans." she thought. "Think they're the greatest race in the world. If I was a normal demon I'd slaughter this whole city without a second thought. I'm lucky that father told me keeping peace with humans is the key to living long." Kat rolled over and simply laid on top of the building.

The Striped Demon

Soon after relaxing atop the building, Kat jumped off of it and landed into the street. Her response was a normal reaction for humans, Some looked at her out of confusion and fear, while others glared at her out of rage a hatred, but nobody ever looked at her out of kindness. She sighed and walked through the streets normally, as the glares continued. She overheard a conversation. Something about that tyrant Doko. She stopped for a few seconds to hear the last of the conversation, though it stopped once she was notice. She grunted and kept walking throughout the city. "Is every city becoming like Paradise Bay?" she grunted under her breath. It mattered no longer. She had heard what she needed to hear, and she figured she'd pay Doko a visit. She'd have to be even more careful though, last time she had a dread after her. This time it might be Rokan. She'd seen him a few times, as she was a common target for the Cerberus Pack, though she'd manage to escape with minor injuries or poisoning. Sighing, the demon walked past a food stand, slyly using her tail to grab and cover up an apple from it. It was a rather old thief trick, but it did her well. She stopped in an ally, and ate the first thing she'd eaten in days.

It wasn't long before night fell, and people returned to their dwellings. Kat was left standing on the street, with a few scattered people here and there. She was sure that everyone was avoiding her. It made perfect sense though. To humans, a demon is a demon, and all demons are the same. "Oh Noctura, why do you hate me so?" she sighed, eating a scrap of food she found on the street. Kat sat down, thinking about what she would do. Join Doko? That was out of the question, he, like many others, wanted her dead. Every path she took seemed to come to the wrong end of a blade. Why couldn't she be like everyone else? Settle down, get married, have a kid or two. That was a normal life wasn't it? But then again she was a demon, and one of lower grounds than most. She was not fierce or intimidating. She was not wise or of high status. She was one of those demons who did nothing but survive by a thread.

Sadness and Regret were shown in the demon's eyes as she walked through the dark streets of Okentro. She couldn't help but look in a window of a home, seeing a happy family of four eating dinner at the table. It made her think of her own Father, who had been killed protecting her in Paradise Bay. It was a shame, but she figured she'd be traveling solo for the rest of her life. She'd embrace it though. If Nocturna want her to be that way, she would be that way. She sighed and found a grass area in which she could lay down in. "Merciful Mother Nocturna, please allow this lowly being to acquire a position in this world ruled by humans." she prayed rather quickly, staring up at the stars in the sky.

The Striped Demon

The next morning, Kat found herself being poked by some little nuisances. Children were one of the things that Kat hated but loved. She shot up and growled at them, sending them running off to find their parents. In return a few parents returned with their child and confront Kat. "I don't have time for you humans, you're starting to get annoying.." she grunted. Kat stretched her back and legs then dashed out of the city. She'd be back though, very soon. The demon found herself heading to the city of Dokoro once again.
