Anthony Darrow stood at the top of the library, smiling softly.

There was so much he needed to do. So much he wanted to do. He had to plan for a wedding. His own wedding. The idea hadn't really gotten settled in him yet, the fact that someone had agreed to spend the rest of their life with him, simply because he'd asked.

He wanted the world to know.

But since he lacked the means, the money, and the fame for the world to even notice him, he would settle for all of his friends. In his civilian life and powered up. He wanted to do two ceremonies, then, to unite Tony and Kyndall, and Camelot and Shalott. They'd be separate enough, though he knew his magic would always protect his identity.

Still, it paid to be careful.

He took a breath and called his shield to him, powering up as he looked around the city once more. He imagined finding a new home, somewhere down there, where he and Kyndall would settle. Their children, though almost adults themselves, could be comfortable there. Come and go as they pleased until they found their own places. And maybe he and Kyndall could have their own child...

But he was getting distracted. He had a patrol to get to.

Summer was fast approaching and with it summer vacation, a time in the past spent in the most relaxing of ways, which would this year be spent working although the job wasn't the most normal of jobs - far from it really. Alexandre had considered, and was still toying with the idea, of getting a real job. He didn't need the money per say, far from it in fact, but it would be the mature thing to do, right? But what to do? He could easily get a job at one of the green houses he frequented, and maybe a discount on the plants he bought.

It was was these thoughts, for the summer to come, that he removed the hair holder from blond locks and let the silken length get caught up and played with by the cool night breeze. It was a nice evening to be sure, the heat of the day having been replaced by the cool of the evening. Glancing about his hidden spot deep into the dark alley way, as if something could have entered the alley and not been noticed by him when he was facing the only entrance to the alley, and powered up. It was still amazing the new uniform he boasted, he really did like it though he had a feeling it made him look shorter than he already was, the boots were especially nice. The coat he'd have said was his favorite aspect but he knew, as he had since first joining, that his coat would really cause him issues with heat when it got hotter as summer progressed. Pushing thoughts to the back of his mind, something which came with ease, he teleported himself up to the roof top of the building to his left and took off doing the roof top hop which was familiar and yet still exhilarating for him.

There was someone else, not far off, powerful but no more than he himself was now. The problem was they felt like a knight, he really didn't like them and had mixed feelings on them, he was hoping it was that green haired one so he could finish things between them but he doubted he'd have that sort of luck. Standing there, waiting, he felt confident that the person would come for him - didn't they always?

Camelot held his shield at his side, eyes moving over the horizon slowly, as if he might spot trouble before he felt it. But that was not how it usually worked, at least not with powered opponents. He felt a tingle down his spine, turning his head toward the feeling.

There was an agent of Chaos nearby.

It was his duty to see to them, to make sure they weren't harming those that could not defend themselves. He also had a few enemies and friends on that side to keep an eye out for. Which would this be? He had to wonder, but not for long, as he made his way over there.

He leaped to the roof Benitoite was on, stopping when he saw the Nega and recognized who it was, though he had obviously gotten stronger. His outfit was different, indicative of a promotion. He wondered if attacking knights had earned him that rank.

He gripped his shield, emblazoned with the dragon as it was, its Crystal eye glistening. He didn't say hello, didn't open conversation like he might have for anyone else. He remembered their last meeting, and knew what he'd done to the Nega. But he also remembered why he had done it.

He wouldn't forget that.

Not surprised by the arrival, though he was mildly surprised by who it was, he kept his expression in check. As Alexandre he might have let his surprise show but not as Benitoite, he had slowly over time been working on himself and furthering the separation between this self and the civilian self. It was almost a hope of his to separate the two as much as he could, like changing masks when he powered up or powered down.

"Ah, how delightful that we meet again." Cold and formal as slate hued eyes took in the obviously powered up knight. How amusing that they should meet again and both of them be powered up since the last meeting. "Should I prepare myself for you to put me in my place?" He questioned, the jab at the knight just under the surface of his question. This was the same knight who on the first meeting declared he wasn't a fighter and than the second time certainly went against that statement. "Or are you looking to talk?" Arms came up and crossed over his chest as he stood calmly, watching the knight across from him.

Camelot stared at him.

He could feel anger boiling in him. A vindictive streak he had not known was in him. Or still in him, at least.

When he was much younger, he used to be reckless and dangerous. Cruel, almost, and not one who liked being crossed. He never let a debt go unrepaid, at least. And that seemed to hold true now. He had a need for vengeance he was certain he had already achieved, and yet it wasn't enough.

How could it be?

He watched Benitoite for a long moment, his expression passive, but certainly not safe. The calm was like the gathering of storm clouds. He stayed quiet after the Nega spoke, just watching him for a long moment.

"You seem to have healed well," he said, ignoring the jabs and making one of his own.
PostPosted: Tue May 29, 2012 5:12 pm

"Of course, a hospital and a little borrowed energy go quite a way in healing." He spoke, a smirk slowly curling his lips. He too could feel the gathering storm clouds, and it thrilled him a little.

"Tell me, did your girlfriend heal well?" He questioned, sneering, while he shifted his weight. He had enjoyed that, he doubted she'd learned her lesson though.

"Tell me, has your girlfriend also powered up? I'd hate to run in to her and find her incapable of holding her own." Her spoke, now out right taunting even as his voice remained calm and cold. If this was going to turn in to a fight it might as well do so quickly so he could be on his way, this time he knew if he was in to deep he'd call Painite before he earned himself a hospital trip.

Camelot watched him, feeling an anger stirring in him that he knew should not be there. He was meant to serve as a warrior for peace, yet his battles had created in him a well of some new person. A warrior of a different kind, who did not crave peace. Instead, he wanted to defend his friends, his family. He wanted to destroy those that brought harm to the people he cared about.

He was the opposite of what Camelot stood for, what he told himself was so important for so long.

Maybe he was becoming jaded. Maybe he was finally learning what it was to fight in a war. He didn't want it, but he didn't resist at the moment, letting that anger and hatred churn in his gut, spilling acid into his muscles. It made him tense. Ready.

Camelot didn't make a reply to his taunting, or the use of the word girlfriend. Or the comments about powering up. If he knew how close he was to the truth, it would destroy them both. He scowled.

"I won't let you hurt anyone else," he said evenly, until the very last word. His tone pitched upwards as he charged toward the Nega, shield raised and ready to bash in a head.

Moving out of the way, a few steps quickly made to the side, and he turned to face the knight's profile. His own weapon coming out showing not the previous paintbrush but this time a bladed weapon. The blade might be small but he doubted this weapon was something to laugh at, or think little of, he was sure there was more to it aside from the obvious fact it could slice now.

"You said that before and yet I'm still here, and quite capable I assure you. Though I'll also assure you that since than I've not touched a single civilian, even to borrow energy as I've done in the past." He spoke, while he handled the slender stem of the weapon.

"Don't think however that I stopped because of you, your not going to turn me around from my path." He didn't want that knight thinking they'd changed him, or made some form of a difference upon his conscious, this knight was certainly not that impressive where because of some words or some loss he'd change. While the knight was running on anger and hate Benitoite was cool and calm, mocking when and where he could be.

Camelot was surprised by the change in weapon, though he shouldn't have been. He should have been expecting it, as they all ended up with dangerous looking weapons by the time they were at their third stage. Similar to knights, really, and their items.

Camelot didn't dwell on the thought, knowing more about that similarity than he wanted to think about at the moment.

"Do you think that absolves you of what you've done in the past? That it makes attacking people like me, like other knights or senshi, okay?" What was he saying? Here he was, arguing against what he believed in. That change was possible. That the past could be forgotten, that a new life could be forged. He believed that this was not all there was.

There was more than war. There was more than good and evil. Why, then, was he not trying to turn this particular nega from his path? Why wasn't he trying to create an ally where he saw an enemy?

Because he wanted that enemy.

He wasn't ready to forgive and forget yet.

"Terra Viridis Crystal Power!" Camelot heard his own voice shouting. He had his shield up, and the beam of magical energy burst from the shield, the dragon. It didn't do damage, not physical, but since he had powered up the pain it caused had grown as well.
PostPosted: Thu May 31, 2012 2:42 pm

Of course their weapons changed, could you really expect a person to fight with a tiny paintbrush for long? If that had been the case he might have wondered if the Negaverse was cursed from the beginning. But thankfully such was not the case and like his uniform changing so too did his weapon.

"I don't need, nor want, to be absolved of what I've done. Attacking people like you is for the good of the innocent civilians." His voice cold and sneering as he spoke. Benitoite, in both powered and civilian life, had gotten over the past murders he'd committed and the one he'd partaken in. They had been necessary at the time.

As far as this particular knight was concerned he wouldn't mind taking him out, but he wouldn't do so - not now anyway, This one was a hypocrite and it was fun watching him betray everything he'd once spoken to Benitoite. Did he know he was going against things he'd once spoken? Did it bother him, eat away at him and make him question himself and his actions? Did he find he enjoyed fighting? All questions he'd like to ask just to see the reaction, the answers didn't matter as much as the reaction.

Not expecting the attack which came the general was taken by surprise and like the last time he landed on the ground, thankfully though he didn't land like last time, pain laced through him as he picked himself up gingerly. He was clearly biting his lip, had been doing so in order to keep quite, the pain was more intense than the last time but the same sort of pain, he didn't want to let the knight know how much it hurt. He really disliked that shield though, or rather the crystal imbedded into the shield. Gripping his weapon he focused on the familiar feel of teleporting and did just that - teleported. Having decided that he needed to close the distance between them, so the knight couldn't lift that shield and attack again, Benitoite was in mere moments in front of the knight, and using what little room he'd left between them, swung his weapon at him.

Camelot wasn't expecting the Negaverse agent to teleport, but he probably should have been. They were more dangerous than he gave them credit. most of the time it was because he did not want to fight them, but right now he had just underestimated his opponent.

He pulled himself backwards, but the weapon connected to his chest. He was thankful for his armor, at least, but he couldn't afford to keep letting the Nega land blows.

He had to be more careful.

Using the close range, he shifted his shield on his arm and tried to ram his shield into the other's gut. If they were going to get right into the fighting, he was going to give himself over to it. Something took him over, a call from his past. He used to live for fights, and he hadn't been in a real brawl because he tried to avoid them now.

He was done avoiding. Call it a grudge. Call it a midlife crisis.

He'd learned his own lesson about underestimating an enemy the last time they'd met, he tried to remember not to do it again. He'd been working to remember that lesson since the last time they'd met in fact. He didn't much care for hospitals and didn't want to return to one any time soon, this wasn't to say he'd let the threat of winding up in one keep him from doing things.

That move, the shield aimed for his gut, flashed him back to the last encounter and the shield hitting him in around the same area. As he caught the movement of the shield he leapt back to avoid it.

Keeping his distance, watching that much hated shield, he shifted his weapon and jabbed out with the bottom end aimed for the knight.

Camelot was caught up in his attack. He had thrown a lot of force into the movement, and as a result he did not have the balance he needed as the momentum took him. He stumbled and tried to jerk himself backwards when he saw his shield was not going to land.

He felt the bottom end of Benitoite's weapon slam into his armor, but he was well protected from blunt force. Still, it jarred him, he imagined it was something akin to being shot while wearing a vest. It took his breath away and he staggered backwards, feet fumbling for proper footing while his hand gripped his stomach mostly on instinct.

This was stupid of him. He was fighting with anger he should have already gotten out of his system. He was letting himself become hateful,to move away from what he'd promised himself he would be.

But now was too late to stop. He'd think about it all later. He just had to fight.

He lunged again, before he was even properly sturdy, reckless and taken by the fight rather than letting his rational mind talk him out of anything. Maybe by attacking again so quickly and thoughtlessly he was running away from those very thoughts. Whatever the case, he swung his fist for Beni's face, while he drew his shield back to swing whether he hit or not.
PostPosted: Thu Jun 21, 2012 11:49 am

Smiling, self satisfaction filling him, as he saw the knight stumble from his strike. That was good. It might not do much injury but if it broke momentum and sent the knight back it put more distance between them and could break a frenzy attack, he wouldn't put such past this knight.

Not surprised that the knight recovered fairly quick, since he had only used the blunt end of his staff. Benitoite shifted again and held the weapon in both hands to block the shield, as he feared being struck with it again, and readied himself for whatever the knight had planned for him. His head snapped to the side with the force of the punch, ok so maybe he hadn't been expecting that. He'd expected the shield though and pressed his weapon against it hard in an effort to keep it at bay.

Turning his face to look at the older fighter he turned his head to spit out some blood, he'd bitten his tongue good and hard when he'd been struck by the knight. That done he turned back to face him and stepped forward and stomped a foot down, aiming for one of the knights feet. While he did this it was hard to move his staff, given how close they were, he'd have to wait till he could get some distance again.

"Blarrgh!"

Camelot was not a fan of spit, and certainly not a fan of someone elses blood. Having that being spat at him, then, was just unpleasant. He reeled back and wiped his face furiously, shaking his head and trying to rid himself of the disgusting staff as quickly as possible.

It took him out of the fight completely, which was a mistake. If he was more focused it might have been different, but he had split his focus already by arguing with himself about how justified this fight really was. he was only half involved here, and it wasn't the proper, dedicated, sensible half.

He grunted and pulled his foot back next, though that gave him an actual chance to get his foot planted firmly and properly.

So that was that. He pulled his shield back, away from Beni's weapon, if only to power up his attack and get more force into his next blow.
