Something began to ring loudly and Tymiko immediately checked her Pokegear. A registered trainer friend was calling - Dith. She loved talking to Dith! It seemed he wanted to meet somewhere because he had something important to tell her. Hardly able to contain her excitement, the girl barely glanced at the request to meet at the Russian man's apartment before dashing off.

Luckily it wasn't far, and though the girl was pretty out of breath by the time she reached there, her enthusiasm had not diminished. Curiosity mixed with anticipation and the happy thought of seeing a familiar face again. She had been spending a lot of time alone lately, and though Fathom sometimes kept her company, he just wasn't the same as a human she could talk to.

He had never meant to stay in Kodo.

Travel had been the plan, just get away for a bit and then go back to his old life once he felt like himself again. Life, however, had a habit of throwing spanners into the works of plans he made and so here he was with a flat overlooking one of the city's parks. He couldn't complain really; he was happy here, and doing things that mattered.

Unexpected and unplanned were not necessarily bad.

With this thought floating around in his head Dith stepped back inside, leaving the balcony door open to let in the gentle breeze and the sounds of the lazy sunsoaked city. Crossing the spacious airy living room with coffee in hand he sat down next to a large basket which contained four brown and cream eggs, and one golden Espeon. The former quartet was studied carefully for any change, and the latter individual - steadfast and responsible - was given a stroke. Viktor blinked peaceably at him, and the golden-haired man returned the expression with a fond smile.

Up on top of a display cabinet, filled with an assortment of models and memorabilia, sat a purple Espeon. Tail curled around herself she watched the pair and the eggs with an air of aloof indifference.

In the hall outside the apartment was another pokemon, not that it was apparent. Invisible and watchful the Haunter grinned to himself, drifting back inside when he saw the girl approach and opening the door for her with ghostly hands.

As the door opened Dith looked up with a welcoming grin. "Hey Ty, come in! There's coffee in the pot, or juice in the fridge."

Tymiko was busy trying to figure out who had opened the door for her when she heard Dith's welcoming voice. Attention diverted, her face lit up and she ran forward to hug the man.

Perhaps it might have not been appropriate given the relatively short time she'd known him and the other trainers he stuck around, but the girl was an affectionate child. She tended to be oblivious to such courtesies and often didn't consider or understand why such actions may or may not have been acceptable until she was told so.

"Dith! Hello!" she greeted warmly. "Thanks for the offer, but I'm fine, really. What's going on lately? How are you doing?" She found herself distracted once more upon spotting the large basket beside Dith, the eggs that occupied said basket, and the golden, spotted psychic-type standing over them. Ty gasped.

"Viktor! What have you got there?" the water trainer asked, crouching down beside the eggs.

"I'm well thanks," Dith grinned, "better than last night, which was a little stressful! They're not his," a massive hand gave Viktor another stroke, "they're her's," the hand waved up at the Espeon sitting on top of the cabinet, "and after a game of charades with Viktor here it was communicated to me that the father is your Fathom, so I thought you might want to see them before all the others!"

He had hoped that Luna might show some interest in the eggs, but as soon as she'd slept off her exhaustion she'd walked away from them without a backward glance. Much as he still worried about her aloofness and detachment he currently had other, more pleasant things to think about, namely the eggs that Viktor was nosing gently at. He hadn’t thought about what to do with them yet, in fact he’d avoided thinking about it so that he could talk to Ty about it without any preconceived plans.

The young trainer giggled at the idea of Dith's two Espeon trading typical gender roles - at least when it came to parenting. She smiled briefly at the lovely Espeon perched atop a cabinet, somewhat curious as to why the mother was so far from her eggs. On the other hand, Tymiko had to fight some pretty strong urges to pick up the dignified Viktor and hug him like a Pokedoll. He made such a good eggsitter.

"Oh, wow," Ty remarked, looking over the eggs as she tried to guess what the large Russian man had meant about a stressful night. "I'm sorry, I would have been here if I'd known. Thank you so much for inviting me over so soon!" She wished she could have been around to help, but she hadn't even realized there were eggs to be expected.

"It's such a good thing that at least Viktor knew. I don't know if Fathom ever planned to identify himself as a father." She took out her Dive ball and released her Vaporeon, looking him over suspiciously.

Fathom's seal-point face darkened even moreso than usual, suggesting his embarrassment. He walked over to Viktor and the eggs, sat on his haunches, and curled his tail around his legs. The water-type glanced sheepishly toward Ty and Dith before twitching an ear nervously.

His trainer sighed. "You have some explaining to do, mister," she scolded him before returning her attention to her long-haired friend. "Dith? I'm sorry, my memory is really bad...have you had that Espeon long?" The girl nodded toward the cabinet. "I don't really remember hearing all that much about her. Is she okay?" A small frown settled on Tymiko's lips. "I hope Fathom didn't upset her..."

The idea of the female Espeon's disinterest in her own eggs was a little worrisome. She was sure the considerate Dith had been aware of this too. What would become of the babies if their own mother didn't want to bother with them? How would they survive? And there were four; that was a lot more than Ty ever realized could be in a pokemon egg batch.

Fathom, meanwhile, seemed similarly troubled. He gratefully thanked Viktor for watching over the eggs and explaining things to Dith (though how the bonded pokemon and trainer communicated so well, he still had no clue). As for Luna...well, he still wasn't quite sure what she thought of him. The beauty was as mysterious as ever.

As he looked up to where she sat, he met her gaze briefly, inquiringly, before shifting his attention back to the eggs. He still had no clue how to read her emotions; perhaps partly because she was a psychic-type and knew how to hide her mentality. Maybe Viktor, at least, could read her better than he could.

Dith smiled and waved a hand dismissively to the apology. "Don't think of it, she wouldn't have appreciated an audience anyway. Anyway, you are welcome of course! As I say, I thought you ought to be first to see them; them being Fathom's as much as Luna's they're yours as much as mine."

Ah, and Luna....

Dith looked up at her and sighed slightly. "No no, he didn't upset her.... I've had her a little while now, I got her when the crowd of us went off training with the league. Her trainer had lost interest in her when the Next Big Trend came along, and neglected her quite badly. Only too glad to sell her on to me. I don't know what her nature was like before, but I think being treated like that has made her cold and mistrusting like she is. I hope I can earn her trust one day... but I think it will take some time."

When the water type looked up at her Luna looked away out of the window, every inch the haughty ice queen. Perhaps she ought to have been a Glaceon.

Viktor watched Fathom glance at Luna, sighing faintly to himself at the cold shoulder the Vaporeon received. he informed the other 'eon, They were his after all; if he had an interest in them then Viktor was only too happy to step back and let him take over.

As her crouching legs began to ache, Ty leaned back on her arms and rearranged her legs under her so that she was sitting cross-legged on the ground. She was grateful to Dith for understanding, and of course he had to be right about Luna. The girl wasn't sure what good she might have been even if she had been present at the time.

"Thank you," she expressed quietly, though she still felt somewhat embarrassed at her obliviousness. As much as she adored the kindness and patience of the Russian man, she still felt somewhat intimidated by him - as if she didn't feel worthy enough to be in his company. But he always knew what to say to make her feel better, no matter if he recognized her mixed emotions or not. Dith just seemed like one of those people who could comfort others simply by being around them.

Nodding in acknowledgement as she listened to the fair-eyed man's story, Tymiko looked especially interested at the mention of training with the League. It had sounded like an amazing experience, though she'd heard only so much about it from the other trainers who'd gone. It made her a little wistful, but she would be just as happy to learn from the experienced Kodo trainers she had become more familiar with.

"How sad," she remarked absently, wondering how much of Luna's current attitude reflected that of her previous owner's towards her. At any rate, it seemed to explain the female Espeon's lack of attachment to anyone - even her own eggs. It must have been devastating for a pokemon who evolved based on their happiness and love for their trainers to realize that their devotion wasn't mutual. Those whose trust had been betrayed by those they most cared for hardly had any reason to trust again. As Dith was saying, the psychic-type had probably shut the world out due to her past experience.

"If anyone can do it, I know you can, Dith," the water trainer said, conviction saturating her words. "You're one of the most patient people I've met on this island. And you have such a nurturing way about you." She'd heard mention of the large man's marvelous skill in the kitchen, which Ty believed was at least partly attributed to his nature. The best food was often made with love and care, after all. "But until she learns to trust, what will happen with the eggs? Did you have any plans for them?"

Even if Luna acted cold toward them now, to cut her out completely from the future babies' lives would probably just reinforce her mistrust in humans. Perhaps if they kept the babies near and raised them where she could watch them grow, she might slowly warm up to them.Ty saw no real reason for Luna to really hate these eggs other than to take out her feelings of having been neglected upon them. Still, they had done her no actual wrong.

As Fathom found himself shunned by the lovely female eeveeloution, he reacted with a faint, bitter smile before swerving an earfin to catch Viktor's sigh. he replied quietly, his voice and demeanor a little more subdued than usual.

completely
indifferent towards us. At least she has some motive behind it,> the vaporeon pointed out, attempting to remain positive.

Turning a more genuine smile on the spotted, gold psychic-type, Fathom dipped his head gratefully. he stated jokingly. And there was some in his jest; after all that had happened, the Vaporeon wasn't sure he deserved to be the father of these beautiful eevee eggs.

he spoke quietly,

Dith chuckled softly and shrugged his huge shoulders. "Well, I've had a long time to learn to be patient, da? Humm, the eggs though? No, I had no particular plans for them. What do you think we should do?" He quite liked the idea of keeping one for himself, but he hadn't allowed himself to start thinking anything concrete without Ty's presence.

Viktor made a small noise of agreement and moved out of Fathom's way; the water had used a jesting tone, be he presumed that the other eeveeloution really would like to spend some time with the eggs. he added.

he continued, As he spoke the Espeon's voice took on a slightly melancholy tone; on the beach, with that strange woman... Skiron had been so cold. He wished things could have been different.
