Itarilde trotted along the quite forest. The morning mists hadn’t yet finished settling. She enjoyed the morning air and started to trot and then started to gallop. She wasn’t as fast as Avatre but she enjoyed running well enough. Soon the trees began to thin out and open up into a field. Stopping Itarilde stayed along the edge of the tree line. There was something about large open or really small areas that bothered her. Her tail brushed the ground lightly behind her as she walked. Hearing a light buzzing her ears twitched and she looked toward the sound. Out in the field there where bees buzzing about from wild flower to flower. Smiling she crept out into the field a bit. She liked watching the little bugs fly. They seemed so silly even if they flew with a purpose in mind.

The stallion had been strolling through the forests close to the edge so he could see the fields. He enjoyed life as much as he denied it to himself, but he refused to allow himself to jump in. His tail flicked a little as he gave a grunt walking quite heavily and without a care, his ears slightly perked forward and eyes wary. It was when he saw the form of the mare did he take a little bit back biting his tongue to prevent him from making a sound as he watched her. Well..at least he thought it was a her. Her form was sleek and screamed feminine but that horn was fearsome and her tail looked like nothing he had ever seen before. Sven had to take a breath feeling blood in his spit. He supposed he bit down too hard. As she strode forward he peaked through the brush as his golden eyes followed her wondering what she was studying. Unbeknownst to Sven, he had crept out from the safety of the forest and into the open as he watched her stopping a few feet away. She was...grace in motion and it was strange to see her here...Why would she be here? Why was he here?

Dark x Deception

Looking up from a flower the currently had a little bee in it Ita found herself only a few strides from another Azrein. She froze for a moment but quickly recovered herself. The other Azrein was a bit bulkier in build then Avatre or Nailiah. Though he too had a band about his neck that made Itarilde think of the white mare. The thought brought a warm feeling to her heart and smile to her face. The collar the stallion wore glinted in the sunlight. She wondered how he moved in the plains like he did without being seen. It would be so much easier to move the way he looked in the forest not in the plain. The male was colored like the forest to which made Ita instantly like him just a bit even though she nothing about him. He might belong to a herd out here, perhaps he had only come out to tell her to leave. Blinking slowly she wondered if he meant to harm her, surely he wouldn’t do a good job of such simply staring at her as he did. Her voice quite she broke the silence between them. “Hello. Have I trespassed where I should not?” Ita was tempted to back away slowly not desiring to cause trouble in the field for the stallion or for herself. She remained standing where she was waiting for his reply.

Sven took a really deep breath watching her. Her coloration was so..different close up. She seemed like a walking canvas of colors that made him feel safe and reminded him of the dusk and dawn sky. His ears flicked forward as he reveled in the silence between them. Sometimes words not be spoken just to simply enjoy company. It was then that Sven noticed her golden eyes. It took him back a bit to see hues almost like his. Her frame...was different in the sense that she had a horn and a whip like tail. It was then that Sven realized he was staring turned ready to run back into his seclusion. It was when she spoke that he stopped in mid turn and looked at her carefully. He could barely hear what she said, but her voice was strangely haunting. Almost like...He snorted not bearing to remember her name. He was haunted by her and even though he tried to move on, she would never stop haunting his soul. He took in a breath debating on answering her question. "No." Sven spoke quietly as well taking in a breath to calm himself. "You are...in free land as some would call it." His ears flicked forward a little, every fiber in his being telling him to continue his original plan of running. But what for? She didn't look dangerous, if formidable, and she was....stunning to say the least. He averted his eyes from her feeling quite strange and dirty for even thinking. He should have been in his forest minding his own business. It was dumb of him to even come out here...

So he wouldn’t get in trouble if she stayed, that was good. Dashing any thoughts of returning to the forest so quickly like a puff of smoke in the wind. She leaned down and looked at the flower she had been watching before. It was regrettable but the little bee she had been watching had disappeared some time while she had been gazing at the male. Sniffing the flower lightly she enjoyed its rich scent. Closing her eyes she gently brushed the top of the flower with her nose enjoying its softness. Lifting her head up she noticed the male was away from her. She was a bit curious about him. If this were wild land then were he and his herd travelers? Flicking her ears she debated following him and speaking with him. She wondered if she could even keep up a conversation with him. She wasn’t the most talkative Azrein in the world except to those who were close to her. Still she supposed she should try. Smoothly striding forward it didn’t take long for her to catch up next to the male. She remained silent not sure what to say to a complete stranger to start a conversation. Her tail swayed even with her smooth stride that was more like a deer than an Azrein. Her mane kept crossing in front of her eyes making it seem like they were hidden in a forest of their own while her horn shone bright in the sunlight of the field.

Sven had found himself walking away as soon as she took her eyes off of him. It was his body's natural instinct to not dealing with things that...he didn't want to risk. It was then that his ears picked up the sound of something. He turned just in time to meet her eyes again as she caught up to him. The stallion almost stumbled in mid stride but quickly recovered keeping pace. There was that silence between them again as he felt a little bit more comfortable matching her pace. The way she moved was unlike anything he had ever seen which made her all the more alluring and dangerous. As they strolled along in the field by the forest edge he couldn't help but wonder why she was here all alone. Surely she had a herd of some sort - a loving family that she could go back to. His gaze fell downward as he remembered the last mare he encountered with a herd and a happy home. That didn't end very well and he would hate to repeat his doomed history. The stallion cleared his throat for a moment looking over to her. "I am Sven...Ven if you want." He started a little surprised at how his voice was a louder bass than what he wanted it to be. "Who are you and what are you doing here?" He asked as gently as he could not wanting to totally freak her out. As much as Sven wanted to feel nothing an force his feelings down, he did feel a sense of longing for company. Even if they said nothing, it was the fact of another being there. It was a luxury he wasn't sure he could afford, but he dared to attempt anyway.

Dark x Deception

Ita’s ears flipped back at the noise the male made and when he spoke his voice was just loud enough in quite around them that Ita reflexively curled her tail the way a cat would. The male’s voice wasn’t too loud but the tone of it surprised her greatly. He sounded mad, no that wasn’t the right word he sounded mournful and ashamed all at once. Perhaps she should not have followed him? Sven the name rolled through her mind like a cloud, drifting along slowly going nowhere. Somehow it seemed appropriate with the one who she walked beside now. “Itarilde of Dorthonion… Ita if you wish it. I travel.” Should she speak of Nailiah and how she reminded him of the white mare? She wished to know why he was out here traveling alone. Still if she asked it of him then he might ask it of her and Ita had now good answer to that question. She was traveling in the forest alone for a time to go and see a bit more of the world. So for a ways she walked with Sven in silence. She watched him from behind her bangs. He was a quite one himself perhaps he could go a long ways without saying a word, but Ita wasn’t so certain she could; managed it even if she did not like to speak she loved to listen. Finally she decided that she would ask what she willed and then deal with the question that he had for her as they came. This way she could listen while not simply pushing him to speak endlessly for no reason that her own enjoyment and peace of mind. “Why are you here alone?”

"You...have such a grand title for a name. Is that where you are from? Dorthonion?" Sven decided to use the shortened very of her name. It was easier to manage for his poor tongue, and her full name made him think she was some sort of royalty which he wouldn't dare be surprised if she was. They strolled on in silence as he gave a bit of a grunt. He was curious as to why she traveled and where to. Did she have some sort of goal? Or was she searching for family? Or maybe she just simply wished to travel. He hadn't thought much of traveling and wouldn't know how to ask her of this sort of thing since his travels were more of anguish and bitter resentment toward life. His ears flicked as she spoke, her voice a melody of sounds that he doubt he could ever understand...and yet he didn't want to.

The question was something that he even pondered to himself sometimes. Why was he here alone? The answer was always grave and pained him. There were times where the pain lessened and others where it was so excruciating, he couldn't register things in his brain. Sven felt himself gulp as he thought of how to answer her. "I...prefer solitude. It's...easier for me that way....I never belonged anywhere and therefore, I'd rather not make myself belong." His gold eyes met hers for a moment before he quickly looked away. "And you, Ita? Do you have a reason for your...lonely state?" Sven tried to word himself carefully unsure of whether it was just simply her choice or if it wasn't. His tail flicked as they strolled through the woods, the sun peeking through spotting them at some points before the trees blocked the rays. The day seemed nice enough and the woods helped to cool even if it started to get warmer. It then occurred to him that he couldn't hear her footfalls. She was silent as well as graceful even if she did indeed look cautiously dangerous. There was something exotic - even more so than her appearance - about Ita that he wasn't sure he could place. Part of him dared not to venture there...and the other part wanted to know.

Dark x Deception

A grand title for a name? Blinking Ita wondered about that. She had never considered her name a title of any sort. It was simply the name she knew she had. She answered his question quietly with barely more than a whisper not certain what she could say since she didn’t truly know herself. “Perhaps.” She gave only the slightest shake of her head and mentally scolded herself for not fully answering his question. She had resolved to do so and so she would. “I am not certain. I was left alone under a blanket as a foal knowing very little, my name being one such thing.” She hoped it was enough of an answer to satisfy Sven. Her tail bobbed a bit as she moved it so that it wouldn’t snag on some of the higher roots at the base of trees. It was something she did naturally as she glided along next to Sven.

She supposed that she understood Sven’s desire to be alone if he didn’t feel that he belonged anywhere. After in her own past Ita had hid away in the forest before Avatre and Nialiah had come along. Still if he never saw others then he would never find a spot that he might belong without really trying. She pondered on it and was caught off guard by his question. “My lonely state?” She was confused for a moment. She wasn’t lonely, not really. Ah he must mean why she wasn’t traveling with others. “I am not lonely I have others I may go back to, however they live their own lives and I felt the urge to travel and did not desire to disrupt their lives. So I travel alone since I have no others to travel with.” She watched him walk in the dappled light of forest and was amazed at how camouflaged he looked it wouldn’t take much for him to slip into the woods and disappear. His steps were purposeful and his muscles rippled with strength. He was slightly intimidating to Ita and yet she liked the fact he was kind and did not simply shoo her away. She was much more confident then she had been when she was young, and yet to be in a place where she was unwanted would make her run or freeze just as she had when she was young.

Sven was slightly caught off guard at her explanation. She was left alone? The male could understand why he was left alone for he was the curse and reason why his mother died as well as the love of his life. His body physically winced at the thought of her, finding her body on the ground, the life seeping from her, her eyes full of hatred toward him. Sven had to blink back tears as he felt his body shake. He wanted to fall, wanted to run, wanted to hide. However, the stallion couldn't just leave her without any sort of explanation so he took a breath to calm his nerves as he answered her. "I....see... I hope your childhood wasn't...frothed with dangers... The world could use more beauty like you..." Sven immediately mentally slapped himself for spouting such a thing. Was that the best he could come up with? Oh he was so out of practice he was lucky if she didn't swipe him with that massive horn of hers. "Your name is grand and beautiful, Ita. I am glad you remembered it." He offered her a small smile before returning to his stoic face. The way they strode together in one entity made things seem all the more easier for him.

As she repeated his question, the stallion nodded wondering if he needed to clarify what he had meant. However, the mare was not only beautiful but intelligent as she gave him the answer he sought. "Ah. So you do have a home. I suppose you will go back someday?" He asked tilting his head in curiosity. Usually a home meant a herd and a herd meant others and others meant trouble. Sven could deal with one on one with Ita because it was just the two of them. However, had she brought someone else, he doubt he could function or form any sort of coherent words much less a sentence. "Do you travel alone because you want to...or because no one dare to travel with you?" It was more of a thought in his mind that just formed into words. He really didn't mean to ask, but he found himself talking to Ita a little easier each time. She was slowly chipping away at his icy exterior it seemed as the stallion looked to be physically relaxing as they strode through the forest. Soon enough, however, there was a clearing in which the sun rays has been blaring down for quite some time. The grasses would no doubt be warm and comforting, but Sven stopped just short of the small area. He dare not leave the shadows and cold of the forest. He was so used to being alone and having some sort of canopy over his head that...well...sunlight scared him a al little. He hadn't been in the sunlight since... Sven shook his head as he stopped looking over to Ita. The stallion had made up his mind that he would follow her should she choose to go into the sunny field but he wondered if he would be able to stay in it. He was secretly hoping that she would stick to the forest line and go around.

Had she misspoken to him? She watched concerned while Sven began to shake and seemed agitated. She found relief when he spoke again. He was kind to worry for her. She giggled softly at his comment about her beauty. She did not understand it but she supposed everyone had a different view on such matter. “No more than any other. The forest was my home and I felt safest there. Until Nialiah taught me I was safe with her. Then I learned to venture out.” A grand and beautiful name? She blushed and mumbled soft thanks. She was unaccustomed to such compliments and not quite sure what to make of them. When he said them there was a small flutter in her stomach it made her embarrassed and pleased all at once.

Ah so that was what he was asking. She thought about what it was to have a home. She had Avatre she could go to as well as Nialiah she could go to but there was no one place she called home. “No. I travel to forests where I feel comfortable in the land. I can go and see the other two who are dear to me and who I think of as family, but no I have no one place or herd to call my own.” She met his curios gaze with a smile of her own. She wondered about his next question. “I could travel with others, I know it would not be hard to stay quiet and out of the way, and yet.” She groped for the words she wanted to use. “I find it difficult to connect to others. Perhaps it is due to my appearance, or perhaps due to something else I do not know.” It was true she didn’t really know why she had never found group to travel with. Perhaps she was offensive to others without meaning to. She stopped when the male did confused. Before them was a sun lit clearing. Standing on the edge of the shade of the forest and the warmth of the clearing she looked at Sven concerned. Was there a reason he stopped so suddenly? “What troubles you Sven?” He was looking at her with such intensity in his eyes. It didn’t unnerve her, but it did concern her. The barest tip of her horn glinted in the sunlight promising to glow in the sun if she would just step forward. Her silver hooves where hidden in the forest leaves that littered the ground below them muffling sound.

Listened to the chime of her voice picking out particular things. Was Nailiah a mother or a sister? Or even possibly a lover? Sven wasn't sure how to take her tone whenever she spoke about the mare, but he wasn't going to pry at the moment. His tail flicked idly as he stood at the clearing watching it with intense and burning eyes. Her words got to him however as he looked over toward her studying the mare's appearance and her posture. There was nothing threatening about her if enigmatic. "Well it appears you are not restless yet you feel as though you need to find a true calling. I hope your travels have been treating you well in this regard...If it eases you, I do not find you so difficult to connect you...if I may say, I have enjoyed our stroll and conversation." Sven offered her a kind smile in hopes of cheering her up a little. He then paused a moment before continuing. "The two you hold dear...one of them is Nailiah, yes? Are they your sisters or something...?" Sven tilted his head still wondering what exactly were these two that she spoke of. At her question however, he broke his gaze away closing his eyes and giving a heavy sigh. "Life...Life troubles me, Itarilde of Dorthonion." He raised his head looking toward the clearing, his eyes watering slightly. "I have banned myself from the warmth of the sun whenever possible preferring the cold, harsh terrains and forests because I do not believe I deserve such luxury of warmth and the luxury of knowing peace. I am a bad seed as it were. I dearly wish I could be different, but fate plays a cruel hand." Sven's gaze became distant before he looked back over to the mare with a tired yet kind smile. "Whichever path you choose, I will follow you Ita. Please, let us continue our walk." The male said it in a tone that bordered pleading without sounding like too much begging. His nostrils flared as he tried to calm his nerves and push the horrid memory from his mind.

“Thank you. My travels treat me fairly.” She was very embarrassed now. Sven was simply to kind. Still what he revealed about himself was bit worrisome. “I am glad. I too have enjoyed our talk. Let us walk in the shade of the forest.” She turned from the meadow and continued along the edge of it so that she would stay in the shade. How strange that he should think himself a bad seed. To her had been kind and chivalrous. Besides did he not see the beauty of the forest around him? There was peace to be had in a forest. Maybe he needed someone to speak with to see it more often. She decided to keep talking and not mention such things that could upset him for now. “To me Nailiah is like a mother. Avatre is a sister to me. I was completely alone in this world when they came and took time to be with me.” She smiled at Sven. He was so strong and yet at moments he seemed so fragile; a part of her felt that perhaps she had at one time been as fragile as he was. If that was the case how could she walk away from him? In her heart she had the answer. She couldn’t simple as that. She didn’t knotw what his pain was and she might never know ever. In the large scale of things she doubted it would really matter is she knew or not; she wanted to help Sven even if it meant simply walking by his side and adding her presence to his. In time she hoped that he would be able to share the troubles that life had given him. Until then she would talk of less dark things. “The weather has been kind as of late. I would have expected things to be a bit more turbulent of late. I am glad rain and morning mists are nice, but a clear sky is pleasant too." She looked up at the sky that was evident in the clearing. “There tend to be more gentle creatures about on nice days. Perhaps that was why I met you.” She looked at Sven with a smile in her eyes.

Sven offered a gentle smile her own way as he warmed himself up to her. His eyes widened with slight surprise as she choose the forests rather than the warm meadows. It intrigued him as to why she would do such a thing to herself...most he knew enjoyed the sun's warmth and the open, clear fields that didn't hinder their vision. But he should have known that she was not like most. After a moment's pause, he caught up to her walking by her side as they strolled along in the pleasant quiet. "Those two...seem quite loving to take you in. Family is a precious thing." Sven thought about his own dam that he never got the chance to know. His father always made the point that she was such a gorgeous creature to have given birth to a malicious thing such as he. The pain pierced his heart again as he looked down seeming to have slumped in sleep as he continued to walk. Sven took in a breath calming his nerves again thankful that Ita had not asked for an explanation. It was strange - most females would want some sort of answer for his behavior...he was just thankful that she was an understanding mare. Their eyes met for a brief moment as he caught what she said. It took him a moment to realize that by 'gentle creatures', she had meant him. "True...the rain and mists are enjoyable...but sometimes clear days are needed...they provide a clear head for a troubled soul..." Sven offered her a smile with a word of thanks in his own gaze. He hadn't opened up this much to someone since his own self isolation and it felt...wonderful. Even if the feeling might be fleeting or she may never see him again, it felt wonderful and it made him feel worthy enough to be alive and be graced by this angel of the forests. "I am simply glad we did encounter each other, Itarilde. It will be a memory that I treasure for the rest of my days."

Dark x Deception

“They are very kind. Perhaps the kindest Azrein I know.” Ah he seemed so sad. Did the sorrows that trouble him stem from ties to his family? It seemed probable. Ith didn’t press the mater or even touch on it. It could be talked on later if the time felt right. “I know you speak the truth on such matters.” She dropped back so that she was shoulder to shoulder with him once more. Thinking for a moment she did something she rarely did; she physically made an effort to touch another. She leaned over so that her shoulder brushed for against Sven’s own. She had considered rubbing her head against his neck, but he might not be comfortable with her horn so close to his face. It wasn’t much but in Ithil’s experience it was often enough to let the one touched know that they weren’t alone. Sometimes that was enough to help a troubled soul. “You do of course realize we are discussing to different things Sven.” She kept her voice light while the meaning behind what she had to say next was heavier than most other things she had to say. “You speak of endings, I speak of beginnings.” Somewhere along the way neither of them had a middle. Well endings and beginnings were tied together in an inseparable way it still was an unusual meeting between Sven and herself.

She looked at him wondering what he was thinking. He seemed to enjoy the walk well enough, yet the sorrow that claimed his heart over shadowed all things. It was as though his sorrows devoured him one bite at a time throughout his whole day. He could have a night every so often to heal, but then the torture would resume and soon he would be a shell once more. It wasn’t fair. No one deserved to bear such pains. She wished she had some way to give Sven rest. Some way to help him who seemed to be in such constant mental agony.
