Sambo yawned and turned on the large rock he was sunning himself on. It was tedious waiting from friends you hadn't seen in a while to show up. Especially ones that could start at the tiniest flick of a bush. Sambo himself preferred to pounce on said bush and then run if things got to hairy but at least he still pounced. No matter really. Boredom often made one do strange things. Like acting on rumors heard. The move from the old lands had taken everyone long. And not everyone had stayed together or moved at the same time. Recently he'd heard tell that Garret had made his way safely so Sambo set about putting himself in the way of the stallion to meet up again. Perhaps they could find a little fun.

 Garret was strutting threw a large bush not really caring that terror's could be lurking at every corner in this land. Not everyone small and not dangerous like him or what was in his old land. In this land there were Kalona and Skinwalkers, things that considered imp's like him a small meal. It's not like he didn't know that this world was filled with those danger's. The elder's had explained to him and the group in great detail about them before he had decided to leave those kill joys and journey on his own. He just really didn't care, he could probably run if things got too worrisome, or he could just throw his spark stone at them and shock them as a last resort. He looked at his back wings as he uncovered them from his side to reveal his spark stones still where he always kept them sandwiched between his wing and his side.
As he slowly walks out from under the bush a spotted his friend, well as close to a friend that Garret would claim to have. He didn't know if the Quilin had noticed him or not but he didn't think he had. So as a little experiment to gauge how much Sambo had remembered about Imp's and their shock stones. He opened his wings and pulled out a small brown stone and tossed it out near the rock Sambo was laying on, after giving it a little extra juice of course.

"Holy s***!" Sambo jumped off his rock with a jolt, turned and hissed. It took him a moment to recognize the object that had just quite literally shocked him as a shock stone. And if he wasn't mistaken that particular set belonged to none other than the stallion he was looking for. He irritatedly brushed the bouncing, crackling stone off the rock with his tail and growled at the surrounding area. "I know it's you Garret." He really couldn't hold back the half hiss in his voice. He didn't particularly like experiences that made his hackles raise. "I've been looking for you."

Innocently Garret walks out in the open a huge grin on his face as he stares up at his old friend he hadn't realized he had missed till now. What do you mean by that Sambo? You're acting like I did something wrong." He walks over to his stone and picks it up before he forgot where it fell, and put's it away.
Then he blinked. "Wait you were looking for me? Why's that? Did I forget about another promise? Sorry you know I'm bad with my memory. What was the promise?"

Sambo allowed his back fun to un-ruffle and relaxed as the waited stallion came into view. Despite the nasty trick, he realized he was happy to see Garret and smiled. "No. Nothing like that. But you know I don't like those damn shock stones." He bumped his head against against Garrets shoulder by way of male greeting. "It's good to see you. It's been a while. No you didn't forget a promise. I believe we parted amicably last time. Had to since the elders seemed to want us to make the trip here on our owns." He smacked his lips and realized the sunning session had made him thirsty. "Lets go find some water. I'm thirsty. On the way we can talk about making some mischief."

"Oh well then good." Garret returned the greeting with a a chuckle. "Well I felt that just out right shocking you would be both boring and more painful. I didn't want to hurt the only Quilin who'll stand me. I'd have to find a new one." He said with a lard mischievous grin that filled his whole face. Though it left his face soon after the mention of the elders and turned to one of annoyance. "Ah yes those old bats it took way to long to let them let me go. They thought I might leave a bad impression on the locals. Even though I haven't even run into a local yet. Have you Sammy?" Garret said with some expectations. "Any pretty dames?" This he said with a sly smile as he followed Sambo toward where there may be water, really glad that the company he had found was an old friend he missed the banter.

Sambo snorted derisively at the quilin comment. "Not like they'd have you. You know how my kind are. Not like me, that's for sure."
Sambo's face contorted into the look one might give if they bit into a particularly sour lemon. "Eww. You know I hate that nickname." He snorted again. "...anyway...Yeah one dame. A pretty red and white full quilin. I got her convinced I'm a real upstanding gentleman. Shows what she knows." He gave Garret the old stink eye for a moment. "But don't you be telling her otherwise."

"Exactly! Those stuck up pricks wouldn't know a good companion if they were smacked in the butt with one. I'm convinced the only reason your sensible is your other blood." Garret snorted at the though of actually trying to talk to a full Quilin. And he grinned the second Sambo's face contorted. "Well what's the point in a nick name you like Sammy boy?" He said snickering. But at the mention of a full quilin dame Garrets smile fell into a frown of minor disgust. He rather stay far away from any full quilin even if she was a pretty little bird. "like the little chicky would actually listen to a brut like me. spelling off all that peace mumbo-jumbo. It's so much funner to live life with out worrying about others too much." Garret looked at his half quilin friend and grinned again. "But really Sambo I wont tell the dame if she doesn't ask, though what are the chances of meeting her right?"

Sambo snorted and shook his head. "I don't know why I'm sensible. We both know I don't know my parents. But if my other blood is why I'm so catty than I guess I don't mind so much." He shrugged and continued walking. "I think I saw some berry bushes off this way when I was walking towards that rock." He lifted a hoof and pointed in the direction they were going.
"You'll not meet her at all if you're going to even give a whiff of my secret. I'll just not tell you where she is and your just won't know where to find her." He sneezed in a bit of a huffy cat sneeze and then continued talking. "What have you been up to?"

Garret snickered. "I wonder my dear Sammy, if you are half cat?" He said looking at Sambo with a teasing grin. The grin turned into a genuinely happy smile at the mention of yummy food. He had only nibble a little all day. And even though he would have rather eaten a rabbit or something else more meaty. Still a good mouth full of juicy yummy berries didn't sound so bad either. They sounded good enough to make Garret's mouth water just a little in his hunger. "Oooh I really could go for something right now. Some berries might just hit the spot. Lets go eat some!"
"Wait why can't I see her? I wanna see the dame who's got you all up in a tizzy. She must be some special lady to want to keep secrets from her." He said looking at Sambo in a sly manner. And easily making his eyes big and sad seconds later to fain hurt feelings. "But whats worse of all is you want to keep her from me! Do you really think I'd tell her about you if it'd hurt your little feelings?" He said meaning to lightly mock his companion but not hurt him.
"What have I been up to?" Garret paused. He was up to nothing at all. He hadn't even really pranked anyone since leaving the group. Just been lazing around acting like a big man in a new world. Of course he couldn't tell that to Sambo! He'd never hear the end of it. And here he was teasing him while just one slip and it could easily be thrown in his face. He coughed a little and tried his best to pull up a fake front. And he was doing it pretty well, Sam might not even notice since they've been a part for a while. "Aw I've been up to so much stuff! It's insane how much easy targets are in this land. Really I've already made my mark in some poor giants heart. What about you? Well besides picking up a fine dame of course?" He ended the last line in a wink.
