After their lunches had been devoured the two trainees wandered back towards the field. On a flash Rin turned on her company and summoned Byr to her hands. Swinging him about in a show of power.
Not to?
She swung Byr around in one final flourish for good measure.

Syd had managed to grab a quick bandage before being dragged out to the field again, and was back at 100% again. She stretched slightly as they got to the field, watching the axe swinging with a serious expression. If she saw how it worked she could possibly interpret Rin's starting motions.

Yes, I think you're right, there's only so many ways you can turn your arm, after all, Syd agreed, bringing up the crossbow--and shooting the other girl as she did her little display of power.

Ah! Damn, that girl.
Clearly weapons were very distracting when they wanted to be, this was a lesson to dwell on another time however.
Rin narrowed her eyes fiercely before charging forth to swing at Syd with a small pirouetted twirl, "Still good at this I see!"
Even after a lazy, decadent, and well-earned meal together.

"It's one of my favorite pastimes," Syd said agreeably. "And you were doing so well standing there as a target that I just couldn't seem to pass it up!"
Izy started laughing, but thankfully Syd was used to that when she was fighting, she thought as she pulled the trigger.

Rin decided to get a little serious as she went from delicate little swirls to flinging Byr's full weight at the woman's face.
"I'm starting to like it quite a lot!" she shouted as she attempted to keep in close proximity to the woman.

Syd took the hit to the face, relying on her FEAR shield to take the brunt of it, then she leaped back and quickly as she could to regain her distance and shoot again. It was almost like restarting the spar right where it had left off.
She liked it, she decided as she pulled the trigger. But she pulled too quickly, missing her target entirely.

Rin felt alive as the arrow flew past her, her heart was pounding her blood was flowing. Sher was absolutely elated.
This didn't however stop her from continuing her attack as she threw herself back in range again to nick the woman's fear shield with Byr's blade.

Syd leapt back again as she was hit, knowing that Rin had caught onto the distance deal. It made for a more even fight, of course, but it was still one advantage lost. Darnit. So she did what she'd done before--she aimed for the shoulder.
And hit it, lightly.

It still hit and threw the woman off slightly - not enough to miss Syd completely however as Byr came crashing down upon the arm-area of Syd's fear shield.

Surprisingly, Syd wasn't often hit in the arm. At the action she turned, rather than attacking, and raced away at top speed, intent on getting her distance back properly. "You're too dangerous up close!" she called to Rin cheerfully once she was at a decent distance.

She started running faster, taking a moment to shoot her FEAR at the other woman to try and blind her--and failing horribly. She really needed to learn to shoot and run at the same time, she decided.

There was a determined sort of glint in her eyes as she relentlessly threw herself close and swung Byr, his blade rattling off her fear shield before she'd manage to get away again.
