 "Do your ears hang low? Do they wobble to and fro?" Daktari rumbled out as he stomped around the forest ground with no particular idea in mind for the day. "Can you tie them in a knot? Can you tie them in a bow?" He sang out heartily, it was a song he picked up from a passing horde of hyenas. He chuckled to himself at the funny lyrics. Honestly ears wobbling?
He sneezed loudly and mismatched eyes blinked in shock as well as child-like awe as all around him white things surrounded his body. "Whoa." He reached a paw out to bat at the things playfully.

 It was noon, and the black and white wild dog was yet again finding himself in a conundrum much like his previous trials of near futility and difficulty. He was assigned to once more produce an offering to the duo; a hunt was his task, and he hadn't been brushing up on his hunting skills as of late. He wasn't the worst hunter, but in these rogue lands, life was harsh. If a lion hadn't already gotten to your meal first, then, well, it's just a matter of wandering around again to find another loss or disappointment. Was it just him, or was he always late to the party?
He walked through the grasses again, alert for anything. Of course, he was alert enough to overhear some voice in the distance. It was... some deep rumble, and then he heard somewhat loud steps coming his way. Was it in a melodic voice? Could that have been his imagination? He enjoyed singing from time to time, but it was also a little rare in these parts of the woods to hear another guy sing, especially if it was a lion. And that it was.
He closed in on the other form, but he jumped, startled, when the lion sneezed. Boy, was that loud! Apparently, a cloud of dandelions that littered the field came forth from that outburst, as well.
"Well done there," the wild dog spoke when he approached cautiously; the pink, white, and black lion didn't seem harmful, especially if it had been singing just now.
Although he would and particularly would be inclined to be wary of lions, this one could potentially be okay. This one didn't exhibit any signs of being threatening, and so he preferred to praise another entertainer in lieu of just not crossing the lion's path.
"Bravo! A rather interesting song, but well done nonetheless. Even the flowers have jumped in joy at your performance!"

 Umeko sighed and shook her head. Sometimes her father was just... one on his own. She kicked a rock that was blocking her path and followed her father. She had been traveling with him for some time now some of her other siblings had decided to say with her mother which she didn't blame them all for it. She would rather not be tied down with a pride for now. Her inner thoughts were interrupted by the shout of her father and with an exasperated smile Umeko picked up her pace."Come on Umeko! Come play with me!" Daktari lumbered around looking for his daughter. He seemed to had lost her while he wandered ahead. His searching was interrupted by another voice, a male voice unlike his very feminine daughter. "Dog! Truly?" A smile lit his youthful face as he earnestly looked at the wild dog then the flowers hoping to catch them jumping. "Aww, I missed them." He forlornly looked at said flowers before smiling at the other male. "Singing is my favourite. I'm Daktari~""Da-" Umeko froze as she saw her father speaking with a stranger of the canine variety. "Dad." She hissed wearily and resignedly at both males. "What did I say about talking to strangers."

His supposed meeting with the lion was briefly interrupted by the introduction of something else! A small white form came pawing up to the two; her pelt was very, very bright, and her face, tail, and paws were laced with purple and a small portion of black that hinted to origins from Daktari. He stayed put as she offered her words of advice, to which he laughed; ah, the innocence of a child was refreshing. How delightful and what a coincidence that one could join the two merry men this instant!
"Allow me to introduce myself," he said, dipping his head slightly towards the little girl named Umeko, "I am Mwiga. Your father is an astounding singer, it would be a shame to not share it with the rest of the savannah!"
He turned towards Daktari and then replied, "Ah, singing is your choice of trade. Lovely. Are you a one man act? I share one with my sister."

Umeko's ear twitched at the sound of laughter and blinked mismatched eyes at the wild dog as he spoke out a greeting. "Oh, you sure have lovely manners." She paused. "Mwiga. I suppose he does have a nice voi-" She looked at her distracted father to see him rubbing his back long the tree trunk. "Dad! That's not polite to do that in front of others." She yelped out and brought her father back. "I am Umeko." She imitated Mwiga's earlier actions.
"Sorry back was itching me something fierce," He pawed his daughters mini-mane much to her horror. "So Mwi-" He didn't hear his daughters correction of the wild dogs name. "Yeah, I suppose you can say that. Though I don't make much profit of it, if we are lucky we get a few things for our trouble~ My daughter enjoys dancing, its her favourite. "
She cut off her father, "We only do it once in a while. We make by with hunting and other things. You have a sister huh? I bet she's real pretty, just like you. I like the markings on your face." Umeko generally liked to speak her mind when it came to certain things. "So you are part of an act huh? What do you do? Is it just you and your sister? Do you have other siblings? Do you travel all over the rogue lands to perform? "
"Rude," Daktari pouted and moped his father was always cutting him off. He was brought back to the present when the wild dog began to speak of all the things he did and performed. He was quite an interesting fellow and it sounded like he had been all over the place as well as learned a lot. He looked at his daughter and he could tell she was enjoying herself. But sadly all good things had to end at some point and it was getting late. "Well, I hate to interrupt but this young one needs her rest! As do I~! " He nudged his daughter and nodded a goodbye towards the wild dog before moving away.
"Awwwh pop! Can't we just-right." She knew that look and she really did not want to bring out his angry side. "Well it was nice talking with you Mwiga! I hope we run into you again and hopefully you'll have more songs or stories to share with us! Bye for now." She waved quickly and hurried to catch up with her father. Both lions disappeared from sight.
