What is this?!

This is Game XChange's first guild contest! As you may have noticed, we only have a small number of members right now. While we have a couple of banners for advertising purposes that I whipped up, we can never have too many banners, which is why we have this contest. There is no entry fee, the rules for joining are fairly simple and easy and you may even win a prize!

That's good, really good. =) We'll start with some of the most important details: requirements for joining this contest!

To join, you must
- be a member of the Game XChange Guild.
- NOT be a member of the Game XChange Guild's crew; at this moment, the crew exists of Deathly Sage and ASillyPerson. Sole exception to this rule is entries made by a crewmember before their promotion to crew.
- have at least five posts within this guild. They cannot be breaking our rules; ex. they can't be bumps.
- send either a PM to me (ASillyPerson) or make a post in this thread, letting me know your intention to join.

Easy, eh? Now, we get to the banners themselves - there are a few rules for those too. Don't worry, they're not too difficult.

For a banner to be accepted as entry, it must:
- not be in violation of the ToS.
- be your OWN work.
- be submitted as entry through either a PM to me (ASillyPerson) or a post in this thread.
- be less than 500 pixels in size in both width and height and have a total byte-size of less than 100,000 bytes; in other words, it must be able to be put in a signature without breaking Gaia's rules for signatures.
- be admitted before the deadline at June 10th, 2012, 10:00PM GMT. Yes, Greenwich Mean Time.

Other important information:
- Each contestant is allowed to submit a maximum of two (2) banners; however, no contestant can win with both entries.
- All banners submitted to this contest are free to be used by this guild (Game XChange) within the Gaian rules and ToS.
- Submitted banners will not be edited by Game XChange with possible exception of cropping or resizing; signatures of the contestant on the submitted work will under no circumstances be removed or otherwise made illegible.
- The decision of the winning banners is made at sole discretion of the judges, being Deathly Sage and ASillyPerson. The winning results will be published in a separate thread within two days after the deadline.
- If the minimum number of contestants (2) is not reached before the deadline, said deadline will be extended by a week. If the minimum number of contestants is still not reached after extension, the contest will be cancelled.

Don't worry, that will be mentioned in this post.

Prizes

Prizes are dependent on the number of contestants. If the minimum number of contestants, in this case two, is not reached after a week of extension, no prizes will be given out.

When there are two (2) contestants, only the absolute winner gets a prize. If there are three or more contestants, there will also be a runner-up prize. Another prize may be added for every three contestants beyond that.

But you haven't told me WHAT those prizes are!
That's true, I haven't told you yet. I will now, however.

1st prize - given out when there are at least two contestants - 50 Old Crumpled Newspapers
Runner-up prize - given out when there are at least three contestants - 50 Red Guppies

Prizes beyond that will only be revealed when or if the minimum number of necessary contestants (6; 9; 12; etc.) are reached.

But I don't WANT those game items!
That's okay. You can choose to forego those prizes and receive instead 80% of their worth in gold.
