She had one more day of leave that month, Candace had said she'd had one more as well, and they'd set a date. Not to get married - despite the joke - but shopping! Cass wanted to have a good ol' shopping day to remember and she figured that her fellow Mist-in-arms was a good companion for it!
Still, even after getting ready, Cass had shot the older woman a text:
Eight Text to Candace: Italy? I'm heading up towards the portal now to head over if you're willing to head with me still! I just seriously need to get some 'major' shopping out of the way soon. @__@ She wanted to know for sure she had certain things - Marcus's ring, a dress, she wanted another nice outfit for the day she wanted to take off after the wedding for the sake of 'Honeymoon' (she wanted one, dammit), and...general stuff. Sure, she made a point to put some of her money to the side for the wedding, but she'd saved up enough that she wanted to spoil herself.
For once.
And a good day off after a month of questionable living conditions and horror? She'd earned it! She'd earned Italy. Good food, good clothing, and possibly to ogle some boys who would never be as handsome to her as her fiance would be to her.
Okay, maybe she was really excited about a real meal for the first time in almost two months. Just maybe. Never the less, she headed up to the portal to wait and see if Candace had the time to join her that day.

For once Candace hadn't been doing anything when she'd received the text. She wasn't studying, she wasn't eating, she wasn't with anyone, she wasn't ' being doctored' and she wasn't sleeping. She'd been on her way to do one of these things though. Oh well. Italy took priority over sex. Sorry. demon_pachabel Text to Cass:AH! Yes! <333 ON MY WAY! She was quick to hurry to the portal room, not quite running but definitely walking with a hurried pace. Candace was so excited for this. They were going shopping. In Italy. She had never done this before. They could just.. go. They could just step out of a portal and just.. be there. Despite the year of being able to do that it was still always somehow surreal to Candace how they could just be there. Because they could be. When Candace arrived the first thing she did was squeal with excitement and throw her arms around Cass in a tight hug, swaying with the younger girl. "CAAAAAAAAAAASS~! Congratulations ohhhhhh you sweet thing, you!" She bounced on her toes, releasing her with a grin. She was so excited. She'd show Cass a good time. Oh yes. "So! Italy! What do you wanna do? Where do you want to go? This is going to be so much fun~!" Candace clapped her hands together, holding them just under her chin.

CONTACT MADE!
And fortunately, Cass didn't mind a bit! Certainly she could have had a small panic attack about Candace suddenly throwing herself on her, but Cass really didn't mind physical contact all that much. She just threw her arms back around Candace and went with the flow of the giddy hug-sway that was going down. It was kind of a brilliant thing, after all.
"Thank you!" she grinned as she pulled away from the older trainee, leaving her hands on Candace's shoulder for a lingering moment. "I'm.. I'm still kind of wrapping my head around it. Like.....it's actually a thing." she glanced to the ring on her finger. "I didn't just dream it up."
Ahhhhh!
"Italy, yes! I..I have no idea where I want to go! Like...I seriously just.... everywhere. I want to go everywhere. I know for sure I need to get Marcus a ring, and I need to get a dress. He wants a real wedding so I have to get a real dress and I will get the best dress ever and just..." she was going to start rambling. "So I think if we get those first two things out of the way, we can have lunch somewhere, then spend the afternoon on everything else."
Which meant more shopping, but it would be shopping without worrying that Cass hadn't actually gotten her first pieces of agenda done. "Do you have any suggestions on where we should hit up first?"

Candace laughed at Cass' confession, reaching up to give her hands a comforting squeeze. "Adorable. But exciting! I've never had a relationship close enough to consider marriage with. Ohhh, my little Caaaaass!" She hugged her again, nuzzling her cheek against the girl and peppering kisses against Cass' temple. "All growing up and getting married~. Can I see it?" Candace asked, releasing Cass enough to look down and see the ring. She gently held Cass' left hand in her own to admire it, making a soft little noise of awe. She was impressed. It was simple, but classy, and very lovely. And look at all those diamonds!
Atropos sniffed haughtily. My rings are better. Candace couldn't help but chuckle and roll her eyes. Her ring is different. It's a symbol of eternal love and devotion. Things like that. You're much different from an engagement ring. Atropos still wasn't impressed. I stole an engagement ring once. They're nothing special. She raised a brow, looking down at her own rings a moment.
"...I think Atropos is jealous I'm admiring your ring instead of her." She chuckled, shaking her head. Silly Atropos. "Anyway! Yes! Italy! Important things. We can totally get a ring and your dress. In fact, we'll do those first, yes." Candace gave a nod, tapping at her cheek and humming thoughtfully. A plan was good. She liked this. Candace needed this; girl time that didn't end with her wanting to hit something. With Cass she knew she could never go wrong. She and the girl had no friction. It was so refreshing.
"Well, there's Milan. Or Rome. I don't know much about Italy, honestly. Just, you know, what's on television and in magazines. I've never been there.." She chuckled, practically bouncing with excitement. She wanted to go now. Nownownownownow. She was like an excited puppy.
"Lets..get the ring first. Then the dress. We can...ask if they can hold the dress for the day, until it's time for us to head back. So we don't have to lug it around all day, you know?"

She more than willingly offered her hand to Candace so that she could see the ring - after all, it was so much more exciting in person than it was from a silly photo. "Marcus definitely has good taste," she was biased, he was choosing to marry her after all, "I mean..I love the ring and not just because it was from him, y'know?" She would have loved and cherished whatever choice the Moon trainee would have made, but it was a double win.
"Well, when I think of Rome, I think of all the mythology stuff, where Milan they have all that sort of fashion show stuff going on, don't they?" Cass asked. She would have had this all down if she'd had the internet, however. Oh, she would have been on there and have gotten the most solid of information. Oh yes she would have.
It would have been magical.
"Okay, yes. That sounds like a good idea," places would hold onto clothing?? Color her surprised! Being a girl who goes shopping 101: taught my professor Candace. Cass was totally signed up for it. "So, Milan, Ring, Dress, Lunch, go mad all afternoon?"

"They do! Definitely want to go there for clothes. So we'll go to Milan." Were it humanly possible Candace would literally be glowing with excitement, or at least be able to power a small country with her joy. She couldn't wait. She wanted to leave now. Nowwwwww!
Candace didn't realize Cass' shock over being told a store would hold a dress for her until she was ready to pick it up. Probably for the best of Candace would be forced to tell her how adorable she was. A terrible fate for Cass.
"I like this plan! Got everything? Wallet? Passport? ID? Ohh, what's the name on yours by the way? It would be awkward if we called each other names that don't match our identities.."

Cass did a triple check to make sure she did have everything as it was listed off my Candace - fortunately, she did have them all! "My ID calls me Abigail Derrickson." she answered on the note of her civilian identity. It wasn't the name she would have chosen for herself, but it wasn't a bad one. She could live with it for two days a month.
"You?" she asked for confirmation on Candace's, even as she looked to the hunter manning the portal and made a sort of doe-eyed look at them. They were going on a magical adventure, Mr. Ratman, please use your portals on us.
That was what her expression said for those who could get the reference. Either way, they were one step from Milan - Joy.

"Abigail? Cute! Iiii aaaaaam.." Candace searched her purse for her ID, humming quietly as she opened her wallet and checked her debit card and ID, as well as took out her passport to make sure everything matched. "Camille Potter." She smiled. "It's cute. I like it. It'll be weird calling each other by different names." She'd have to be sure she didn't slip up. Oh well, she could claim Cass was Abigail's middle name or something.
Candace was putting everything back in her purse when she looked up and saw the look Cass was giving the hunter, laughing and playfully ruffling her hair. "You are so cute!" She laughed, sighing happily and shaking her head. Candace turned to the hunter again, grinning from ear to ear. "We're ready to go! Send us anywhere..as long as it's Milan, Italy. Please and thank you~!" The hunter nodded, punching in a code and sending the two girls on their way. They may have been in a bit of a hurry to get the two excited trainees away from them.
Just a little bit.
The two girls stepped out of the portal in an alley between two stores, one out of the way but not in that shady 'Someone is going to kill me here' way. Candace squealed the moment she saw the exit of the alley. She could already see a store across the street and she wanted to be in it.
"We're here~!" Candace cheered, grabbing Cass' hand and hurrying to the end of the alley. She slowed down just before they stepped out onto the street, keeping her excitement under control for the most part. They may have been tourists but Candace hated being that tourist.
Oh my god this is the best day ever. Candace squealed quietly, bouncing with joy. This was so exciting! Where were they? She looked all around for some kind of street sign, finding one on the building beside her. Via Monte Napoleone...okay!
Right. They had an agenda. Right.
"Okay. So...ring first. Right. Rings...we need a jewelry store." Jewelry oh my god.
It had been far too long since Candace could go on a real shopping trip. Maybe she'd get a few gifts while she was here...it'd been awhile since she spent any of her pay, after all. Money built up when you didn't spend a dime.
