Playing Games: – Aubrey has had a talent for games of chance since she was a little girl, whether it was simple games of go fish or board games to carnival games. This led to a more recent love of poker, dice, and pool hustling. She spends most of her free time, when she isn’t attending classes or working at a local sports bar, playing any game she can find a contender for. She is deceptive when she plays and observes her opponents to find the right angle to beat them and then takes advantage of it. Over the years she has learned a lot of games and is always willing to learn new ones from anyone who will teach her. Cards, Dice, Billiards, and Gambling, if it has chance involved, it is Aubrey’s Game.

Painting: – Though she isn’t amazing at painting, she finds that it works as a nice stress reliever, so after a hard day at work or a particularly hard loss she’ll find her way outside with her paint set, sketching her surroundings to paint or sometimes just throwing the paint on the canvas to make herself feel better. She also attends an art class as an elective at school, and is currently teaching the basics to her younger sisters.

Aikido: -- Despite her busy lifestyle, Aubrey makes sure she has time to blow off steam, where she has painting to relax, sometimes you just have to beat something up, so she practices Aikido to keep herself physically fit and able to defend herself if necessary. She finds that this style of martial art allows her to use her opponents energy against them so as a smaller target she can take out larger ones if need be, a very helpful trait if there is a bar fight at her work and things get out of hand. She tries to make it to the gym 3 or 4 times a week, though some weeks are easier to find time than others.

Virtues:

Intelligent: – Aubrey is quite smart; due to her academic prowess she has been the recipient of numerous scholarships. Aubrey majors in Mathematics and is among the top ten of her class, and she finds unusual ways to use her craft outside of school by counting cards in a poker game and calculating the proper angle to shoot a combo in billiards. She is the type of person that people go to talk to when they need an intellectual chat, or a battle of wits. She tends to keep her intelligence hidden when she gambles, deceiving people enough to underestimate her, and they pay the price.

Clever:-- While Aubrey also has book smarts she has picked up a few things on social interaction through working at the bar. She loves to read and expand her knowledge so her resources for sayings and quick, witty comments are vast. Her quick wit allows her to think on her toes, quickly assesses people and tailor her responses to best suit them or the situation. Aubrey can be a very deceptive person, she can make herself seem young and innocent then rob a man blind at poker or pool by playing the right angles. She is observant enough to assess which approach will work best for each person she meets, and then execute them. She can be charming, and often will come home with more tips at the end of the night. More often than not, her customers request to be seated in her section when they return, so she usually has a busy night with a lot of regulars. Her assessing nature allows her determine the best approach to deal with each person, but her cleverness isn’t only used for charming people in positive ways. Capable of thinking outside the box, her sharp tongue can turn out an insult as easily as a compliment. She uses her wit to charm people out their money, sometimes buying more than they should or sweet talking them into higher tips. Her clever mind also allows her to coax her prey into finding a game that they would enjoy, or think they excel at, then happily show them the error of their ways and lighten their wallets.

Determined: -- Aubrey has her own personal motivation that keeps her moving forward; this is part of her competitive nature, but she also finds herself in situations that demand maturity and drive. Her determination to be the best at what she does entices her to be punctual to her job and never late for classes so she is considered a model employee and student. She will not allow her personal problems influence the happiness and health of her family and attempts on a daily basis to deal with her family’s issues, along with maintaining a busy schedule. She has a very self-satisfactory determination to win, however she is determined to protect her family and friends. For a few years now, Aubrey has been a vital resource in taking care of her family, especially her younger sisters. She will continue to climb the ladder of success to allow her to climb out of this hole she is stuck in, and move on to a better life.

Loyal:-- Aubrey goes out of her way on a daily basis to take care of her family and make sure they are happy. To Aubrey, her family is all she has so they must be protected. She feels intense loyalty for them, and nothing could shake that. Her loyalty is selective because she finds it difficult to make friends, for though she is charming and social, she is also jaded and sees the bad in people along with the good. She finds it difficult to trust people and it takes a lot of effort to break through this protective shell. Those who do gain the same fierce loyalty she gives her family. When she is loyal to someone, she expect them to return the favor and to be loyal to her, she wishes for camaraderie and a sense of mutual respect and protection, she’ll watch your back if you watch hers. She is loyal till the day she dies, and will do anything she can to protect the ones she loves and trusts. However, if someone betrays this trust, it very difficult to ever forgive them, it will be hard to find any reason to help them again, and will try to avoid them if possible. If she is forced into a situation with them she will either be cold and distant or even openly hostile depending on what the situation was. She will not outright attack or malign them, but she will be plotting a possible downfall if they ever push her to the breaking point.


Flaws:

Addictive Personality: – If her gambling problem is any indication, it is safe to say she should never pick up a drink because she would be on a fast track to alcoholism. While gambling, she finds it hard to cut her losses and fold, tending to keep playing even if she doesn’t have a good hand. This is usually after a long winning streak, during which she will not allow anyone to tell her she has had enough or should quit because she knows she can make it big. She loves caffeine because she likes being able to be in control of her own body, forcing it to stay awake if she so chooses. Sometimes during stressful days, or when she has big tests approaching for school she will stay up for days at a time, keeping herself going with constant caffeine intake until she finally crashes, more often than not at a crucial time and she suffers consequences. She has also gotten addicted to the adrenaline high that comes from winning games and therefore she will compulsively play for hours at a time, even if it is a non-risk game like solitaire or a first person shooting game. Aubrey also acquires adrenaline rushes when she practices Aikido, and will seek out larger and more powerful foes to test herself against them just to prove she can, and if she gets hurt in the process… well she’ll bounce back eventually like she always does.

Critical:-- While Aubrey is charming, social, and can see the good in people, she also finds it difficult to ignore the bad. She can be a good conversation and give advice, but at the same time if she feels as if you are doing something stupid, she will tell you, then try to suggest how to fix it. Trials in her life have made her jaded and she views life with a cynical eye. Sometimes she just can’t keep her thoughts and opinions to herself; she will blurt out what she is thinking whether or not it is in the best interest of the person she is speaking to. Despite how critical she is of others, she is most critical of herself. She sees her own flaws prominently and they are constantly on her mind as she tries to improve them… but can only find more so she sees a lot more negative aspects in herself than positive. For this reason she finds it hard to make friends because she doesn’t feel worthy of anyone’s friendship. She is afraid her family has too many problems, and she is ashamed of her current situation. She could never bring a friend home to see the way she lives, and also doesn’t want to talk much about her situation because she doesn’t want to burden those she cares about.

Detached:-- Due to her manipulative nature, Aubrey has redrawn the lines of her personal morals, it doesn’t bother her much to cheat someone out of their money if they are stupid enough to contend with her, or she feels they deserve it. Aubrey finds that most people she ends up gambling against hold themselves to a lower moral standard, and will lie and cheat if given the opportunity, so she finds that if she occasionally lies or cheats them they are getting what they deserve. There is no harm in swindling a swindler, and no one she hustles is ever really innocent. She treats life as a game, and all of the people are merely pawns on her playing board, to be moved about by her for her own amusement. It pushes her away from others and makes her detached from the real world. Without these attachments she finds herself better able to manipulate people to her whims, and not feel bad about it so she can observe their plights but not necessarily be moved to help them. She doesn’t see herself as doing anything bad when she lies or steals from or cheats what she views as a bad person, in her own mind she is doing the right thing, making the dice roll fairly for everyone, even if she has to cheat them to do it. The problem is that it is difficult for her to develop close personal bonds with others; her superficial friendships lack depth or any real feelings on her part because she sees them as an easier target for the time being. However if someone breaks through this sea of apathy, they become one of the few anchors that still connect her to the world. Her family is currently the only one, now that she has moved to Destiny City and left all of her old real friends behind. She’s hesitant to form any more emotional bonds because that is the easiest way to be hurt, and she doesn’t want to feel that way again.

Competitive: -- Aubrey has a competitive streak a mile wide and can find a way to turn almost anything into a competition; she absolutely loves to win. When she gambles, she will often keep betting when she should fold, just to see if she could bluff her way into a win. She becomes extremely overconfident and feels as if no one can beat her. She exaggerates her wins and dismisses her losses to make it seem as if she is infallible. Her competitiveness is in everything she does, whether it is doing well in school or at work, or when she goes to the Dojo to practice her Aikido. While this pushes her to make herself better, it also causes her to resent people who beat her, and she holds grudges. She also may get in way over her head if someone is better than her, and she refuses to believe it. After a particularly bad loss she will go into bouts of anger or depression, lashing out at anyone unfortunate enough to be around her. Aubrey absolutely loathes to lose, and will do almost anything to make sure she doesn’t.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Aubrey has dark green eyes, with flecks of gold that gives them an almost hazel shade in the right light. She has long dark lashes and she usually wears black eyeliner and often uses brown or natural shades of eye shadows.

Hair: Her hair is mostly curly and a lively red color, it falls to her mid back when brushed out, though she normally has it up in a clip or pony tail when she is at school or work. She also likes to braid her hair to the side so it hangs over her left shoulder with a few curls escaping on the other side. She has side swept bangs that cut across her forehead and frames her face.

Face: She has an oval shaped face with her hair brushed around her face to frame it nicely, her eyes fit her face and her nose is a little small and slightly upturned, she has a light sprinkling of freckles across her nose and her lips are full and usually touched up with red.

Clothes: She has her normal school uniform for HITS but her work uniform consists of a red corset top with the Ace of Spades logo on the pocket, a mid-thigh length black skirt, and a half apron. She usually wears her knee high black boots that has a red ribbon lacing up the sides. And she always wears her dice necklace, wherever she goes. When she is not in uniform or at work she likes comfortable clothes over fashionable ones.

Senshi: Fortuna, Dark Mirror Senshi of Gambling

Challenge: “It isn’t a gamble for me, if you are going to lose”

Fuku Colour:
Main Color: Red
Secondary Color: Gold

Fuku:
(I don’t know if it is possible but when I was imagining my character I pictured a ring leader look, with an overcoat that clasps in the front like a waist cincher and it would have a high collar and coat tails to serve as the collar, sleeves, and bow if it’s not possible that’s fine, but I thought it could be cool. I have one Idea that I drew myself, and another Idea I made on a sailor moon generator. )

Collar – If not the overcoat the collar would be free floating and connect in the middle with a dice clasp

Bow – Thick red fabric that hangs down to about her knees with a simple bow.

Bodice – the bodice would look like it is a red and black stripped corset with a heart shaped neckline, off the shoulder sleeves connected to the bodice.

Sleeves – the sleeves would hang off the shoulder, and possibly a second sleeve that connects just above her elbow and opens loosely to her hands, allowing freedom of movement.

Brooch -- a red dice with black dots with red and black lacing behind it.

Bottoms – A red short skirt over a black tulle like under skirt

Tiara – black, curling, thin metal with dice like red stone in the center

Choker – similar to the necklace she wears in her everyday life, with a thick black ribbon choker with a thinner red ribbon that lies over top and a red 10 sided die hanging off the center

Shoes – Thigh high black boots with red thick lacing up the sides.

Gloves – elbow length black fingerless gloves

Accessories -- Various Cards about her person.

Attacks:

Sailor Scout Attack: Loaded Dice:

This attack has a chance to affect Fortuna positively or her Foes negatively. Fortuna will raise both hands above her head with her wrists crossed, then brings them down in front of her, (a dice will be rolled to determine which attack; 1: odd it will target the enemy, and 2: even it will target Fortuna)

Option 1: as her hands reach the level of her chest the foe is overcome with a feeling of invulnerability and overconfidence, this will cause them to attack wildly and recklessly for 25 seconds, as time passes they become increasingly calmer and of sound mind until the debuff fades away completely.

Option 2: As her hands reach the level of her chest Fortuna is filled with confidence and adrenaline and will attack strongly and with precision for 25 seconds, as time passes the blows will decrease in power until the buff fades away completely.

Duration: the rush lasts for 25 seconds regardless of which target and decreases in potency as time passes, this attack can be performed twice a battle and will affect one target only.


Super Sailor Scout Attack: Winning Streak:

Fortuna will raise both hands above her head with her wrists crossed, then brings them down in front of her, (a dice will be rolled to determine which attack; 1: odd it will target up to 2 enemy targets, and 2: even it will target Fortuna and a friendly target of her choice)

Option 1: as her hands reach the level of her chest Fortuna will push her hands towards her targets, the foes are overcome with a feeling of invulnerability and overconfidence, this will cause them to attack wildly and recklessly for 35 seconds, as time passes they become increasingly calmer and of sound mind until the debuff fades away completely.

Option 2: As her hands reach the level of her chest Fortuna will extend one hand towards a team mate and they are both filled with confidence and adrenaline and will attack strongly and with precision for 35 seconds, as time passes the blows will decrease in power until the buff fades away completely.

Duration: the rush lasts for 35 seconds regardless of which targets and decreases in potency as time passes, this attack can be performed twice a day and will affect up to two targets.

Eternal Sailor Attack: Jackpot:

Fortuna will raise both hands above her head with wrists crossed and brings them down in front of her, then swings both arms out in a pushing motion starting in front of her then arcing to both sides and ending back in front of her chest with palms together. Following her movements the magic will start at Fortuna granting her a 45 second rush of adrenaline and confidence and spread outwards in the path her hands made up to 7 feet away, any friendly targets that it comes in contact with will receive a 25 second boosts to their attacks that fades over time and any Enemy targets will receive a 25 second rush of overconfidence and recklessness that fades over time.

Duration: This attack grants a 45 second buff to Fortuna and a 25 second buff to any friendly targets that fades over time, and a 25 second debuff to any Enemy targets that fades over time. This attack can affect up to 4 additional characters and must start with Fortuna. This attack can be performed only once per day.

Alright, so I'm no mod and I could be wrong here, but I do spy a potential problem. Sailor Tyche, Senshi of Luck already exists, and I’m not sure you’re making a clear enough distinction between luck and fortune. Personally, when I think of luck I think of casinos and good luck charms. When I think of fortune, I think of something grander and/or more mystical, like muses, myths, oracles, and sayings like “fortune smiles.”

Probably not very useful, and this is all subjective, but I figured I should point this out just in case. ^^;

The possible problem has been brought up to me, I had felt that there was enough difference between luck and chance, because it seems as if there are a lot more options with chance, such as random meetings that lead to greater, or disastrous things. However, I am also working on a parallel profile for a Senshi of Gambling if Chance is not allowed. smile

Transitioning the Senshi was easier than I thought, So i have changed it to Gambling smile

Civilian First~

Hobbies

There isn't much for me to say- I think they're all really well written, can be done alone or with people and really balance her life. It gives me some insight into the type of person she is without even getting to her virtues and flaws yet, which is awesome. I particularly love the playing games hobby, as a lot of the shop's characters play table top and video games, where-as she is more unique in that her games revolve around gambling. Love it all<3

Virtues

Intelligent - Absolutely love that you use her math skills to incorporate her gambling! I think the entire thing is great except that you include that she can be cold and go on to talk about her having a soft spot for kids and having patience with them which should be a separate virtue all-together and don't particularly have anything to do wiht her intelligence. I think you can get rid of the great-listener/advice, kid-loving bit entirely since it's not neccessarily related to her smarts.

Clever - Nothing to say, well done~

Determined - Also good.

Loyal - Also good, woohoo!

Flaws

Addictive Personality - I love it, not a flaw I've seen often and I think it works really well for her.

Critical - Balances well with her Clever virtue.

Detached - Nothing bad to say! I think it'd be really interesting to see how she deals with her DMC family when she's awakened.

Competitive - I think some of it (particularly the beginning part about not knowing when to quit) blends a little bit into her first flaw of the addictive personality. Beyond that though, it's fine!

Senshi Side!

I'm not an artist so I can't comment too much on the fuku- but I will say that there are some very specific DMC requirements that are missing. When you get a slot I'm sure that can be dealt with at the time, but she will have to have a sheer overlay and metal bracers on her wrists + gloves. I think they also have to have a long ribbon around their neck and long black ribbons from their bows. Either way, like I said, that can be discussed with the artist when the time comes. XD Just giving you a head's up that the overcoat likely won't work and it looks very Negaverse-ish to me.

Also, I love the sphere!

Attacks

1st Stage - I like it as long as you note that they're not physical cards. They'd have to just be made of energy. I think the damage, duration and times per battle are good.

2nd Stage - I think this is a very cool idea, but it's noted that Senshi can't have physical items being used as weapons and I feel like cards with sharpened metal edges are very overpowered for a Super senshi. If you want cards with blades to be an itemized weapon, you should make her a Negaverse character. This attack should just be a slight boost to her first one, rather than a full-on physical weapon (which the sharpened Ace reads to me as). Timing/Duration/etc. is good!

3rd Stage - I like it!

The only issue I see with all of it is that the first 2 attacks seem more to me like they'd come from a Senshi of Magic Tricks or Playing Cards rather than a Senshi of Gambling. I know that cards and poker chips are all used in gambling, so the items themselves aren't the issue; I find that the issue is more-so that the power that these items wield are not gambling-related at all.

I would look back at her civilian profile and try to think about what sorts of things are involved in gambling and see if you can incorporate more of that into her attacks. I feel like gambling as a Senshi Sphere should involve more magic and buffs rather than a physical attack.

With some very very tiny adjustments to her civ profile, she is perfect in that respect. I just think her attacks need to be worked on before I can give you a trial stamp.

I talked to Iris about it a little bit and this is what she said:

If the cards are basically made of energy that fly out of their own accord when she calls the attack (aka it's not something that she handles and wields with her own hands and can hold onto for a long period of time) then that is not a weapon and is certainly acceptable.

There are SO many cool ideas you could go with for gambling though. An attack that is actually a gamble and may or may not work or be as powerful (like maybe the character calls the attack gambling on the fact that they'll be able to get close enough to land a punch in the next ___ seconds, and if they can't it fades. Or the character gambles on the fact that the enemy will approach her. Or she could do something to do with bluffing

Okiely dokeily, let's see about trying to get this stamped:

Her job - I think I might have overlooked it somewhere, but I can't exactly figure out where she works? With a name like Ace of Spades I thought perhaps a casino? But you mentioned bar fights so perhaps a bar? Either way, you might end up needing to bump up her age if it is either of those two things? Many places that serve liquor (and many casino's around the states) require workers to be at least 21 if they're going to be anywhere near liquor. Destiny City is set basically in the North East section of the country to give yourself a reference point. If I've made the wrong assumption of where she works though please correct me!

Personality - Her virtues and flaws are actually really nice and I like the way they tie into each other. I'm a little afraid Clever isn't really something that 'people would admire her for" or "something people would like about her" which is usually what we ask of virtues, but I think that could be handwaved as something the Dark Mirror Senshi WOULD like or admire.

However I do have a pretty big concern regarding the the way she's written between her Intelligent and Clever virtues. I think you're refering mainly to NPC's when you talk about how well she can manipulate, outclever, and charm the crap out of people but I just want to make sure you know that that's not okay when it comes to other people's characters? She shouldn't be able to outsmart everyone she meets and people shouldn't feel obligated to have their characters constantly manipulated as that borders on god modding. Like I said, I think that wasn't your intention and you were referring more so to NPC's but it warrants mentioning and perhaps slight modification.


Senshi side -
Her powers look good to me!

As Sylent mentioned though her outfit is going to need some minor tweeks to match the faction.
Here are the guidelines

Black and red are definately good to go and will not be a problem.

I think your corset idea would still work pretty well set over the black bodice/base. Sleeves might not work out though unless they are super detached.

All Dark Mirror Senshi share the same 'eye like' symbol on their brooch and usually their tiara, but I don't see any reason why your girl couldn't have a die dangling down from it in both places. heart

She can't actually have physical cards as accessories around her, but she definately CAN have suit decor like she does in your one image here and there.

One of your biggest things is that you need a sheer overlay somewhere to fit with the group. My suggestion is perhaps going with a full on black outfit (bodice + skirt) and then having the overlay hang down from under the corset as another skirt (in sheer red) and maybe even have some subtle suit or dice designs.

You do not HAVE to go with these suggestions, there are just ideas to go along with the guidelines.

I know that the rules in Florida where I worked at an amphitheater that the laws are you have to be 18 to SERVE alcohol, the 21 limitation is to bartending. And the Ace of Spades is a sports bar if that's ok, it has back rooms with a weekly poker game and several pool tables.

As to the intelligent and clever part I was referring to NPCs when I was writing the profile and would merely strain to be as clever and or charming as I possibly can, but not to the point of god modding and saying that everyone has to be charmed people can obviously not be charmed. But if you prefer I can rewrite these to tone down the charming clever part... a lot of it is just that she is good at her job.

And I didn't know of the over lay could be in colors because a lot of them were just gray, and as far as the design of the character goes i'm not that picky and will be happy with anything the artist throws together

Yeah it varies through the country, I did some research though and it looks like the majority of the northeast only require either 18 or 19, so you're good. heart And it's fine if it's a sports bar.

And that's great to hear @ both the other things.
