While the "******** zen" area that Killzone wasn't ideal, Ami couldn't sit in her bed any more. Too much writing, too much sleeping, too much fighting. As much as she disliked the leotard'd dope, some zen sounded pretty ******** good right now.
She'd grabbed her favorite book- Catcher in the Rye- and pulled up a beanbag in the corner. The dolphins were a bit unsettling, but as long as no one annoying bothered her? She would take rainbows and unicorns.
Ami's fingers played at the edge of the book. It was her favorite book, her favorite setting, her favorite concept, and yet she couldn't focus on it. Other things were on her mind.

Marcus hadn't needed any ******** zen. In fact, he was pretty sure he never did. But what he did need was a place to just sit, and enjoy the quite. Or just be away from the large gathering of grumbling hunters.
The room was intimidating in it's own special way, that same way that Julie intimidated him He just didn't know. Still, as he looked around he paused, realizing he wasn't really alone. "Sorry Ami, ah, do you mind if I hang out in here for a bit?"

Her face twitched in annoyance, but when she recognized the voice as belonging to Marcus it relaxed. Did she want him there? Not in particular. Could she stand him? For now.
"No, go ahead," she said, not looking up from her book. There was a silence for a moment or two and then she said, "You like dolphins or something? What brings you here?"

Shaking his head he went a flung himself into a rather brightly rainbow beanbag. "Nope." He pulled out his note book, leaning back to set it over his eyes.
"This is the one place you can just sort of..chill. I wanted to get away for a while."

"Get away from ...?" Ami couldn't honestly say that she wasn't a bit curious about him and Cass. The last time she'd seen her, Cass had been sobbing and texting Marcus rather angrily in that stupid little cuddle pile.
Next she'd heard they were getting married. It was a bit ... well much. Then again, nearly a month underground could mess with a person's head. At least everything was almost cleared out. Except the dorms- Ami yearned for the ******** dorms. She missed her bed something fierce.

A sigh as he sank into his seat. "Them." A hand waved around lazily. He was tired, and Cass was out. Being in the bunk was noisy, and he just wanted some time alone. He'd been less frantic since giving her the ring, but those worries still pervaded.
He lift the notebook up to look at her. "I just want some time to my own thoughts. Well, myself and Dis I guess."
So nice of you to notice me. Hard not to. I know, I am just that wonderful.
He let the notebook drop over his eyes again. "And you?"

It was then that Ami actually bothered to look up at Marcus. He seemed quite a bit more exhausted than she remembered. Oh well. Even his tired face was attractive.
Assuming Dis was his weapon, Ami, "Mostly the same reasons. Replace Dis with Jumpy though."
< Junpei. >
Same thing.
She looked over at Marcus and said, "A lot on your mind too?" Ami went back to looking at the book, but was playing with the pages so much that she wasn't even focused on the words anymore.

Laughing a bit under the book the was a slight yawn as he stretched out, beans in the bean bag making their strange little sounds. "Well, hopefully your jumpy isn't a perv. Dis has been getting perverse and it's not happiness." You need to get laid, it wouldn't even be that hard. Just shove her against a wall an- "Aughhhhh why." Pulling the earclip off he set it on the floor. "It doesn't help that I'm getting married you know? Plus I've been working on rebuilding but, that's a bit of a continuous thing. s**t keeps breaking."

Ami rolled her hand and said, "He has his moments." Though she still had her eyes mostly glued to the book, she did take note of Marcus removing his ear clip- the glowing runes gave away that it was his desummoned weapon.
"That bad?" she responded after listening to his monologue. For the first time during their entire conversation, Ami set her book down next to her beanbag chair and said, "I'd offer to help, but I don't know a hammer from a screwdriver."
"Now the wedding-" she continued, "That's something I can do. What's wrong with the marriage?" Almost as an afterthought, she said, "Oh. Congratulations by the way."
< One less ningyo in the bay kekeke. > Junpei mocked.

Nodding, the notebook slid down his face and giving up on keeping it over his eyes, he removed it. He had a scarf, he could use that. "He'd been worse. I've thrown him a few times." He glanced down at his weapon. "And if you like, I can teach you. I'm getting introduced to electrical but basic woodwork, measuring and cutting, it's not that hard."
To him at least. The wedding got a groan as he threw the scarf over his eyes. "Nothing wrong like, we're not fighting or anything. It's more that I'm just worried. Will something go wrong, will I ******** up? It's all... very emotionally draining? "
There was a faint smile on his lips. "But it's going to be worth it."

Ami shrugged, not really wanting to commit to working with power tools and embarrassing herself, but also not completely turned off by the idea of helping Marcus if he needed it.
When Marcus smiled to himself, Ami couldn't help but smile a bit too. Underneath all his worry, Ami could see how happy he was in the small gestures and movements. "I'm really happy you found Cass." Rather than warn Marcus about hurting Cass, Ami said, "If Cass hurts you I'll kill her." She gave a laugh to show that she was joking though.
Leaning back in her beanbag to look up at the ceiling, Ami wantonly said, "Looks like everybody's fallin' in love, eh?"

Laughing rather loudly he shuffled, trying to remain comfortable in the bean bag chair, (Which was a challenge in itself). The idea of Cass hurting him? Impossible, she could, but he was damn sure she'd never do it intentionally. She was occasionally clingy, but then, so was he, it all worked out at the end.
"Worst she could do is break my heart, but I think she'd have to break her own first." Again, doubtful that would happen. He was more worried that he'd make a mistake and make her the unhappy one, he knew people were already going to gut him if that happened. Sadly, he'd probably do it to himself first.
"Not everyone I guess it's just... We're not holding back anymore. That mission-" the one where they had almost died and saved the world, "-kind of drove home the whole we're gonna die aspect."

Ami could've pinched his cheeks til the cows came home if that wasn't weird as ********. He was so damn cute. How happy he was with his fiance, how he talked about Cass. She'd be lying if she said it didn't hurt a little making her think about Adam and Wilson.
We're gonna die aspect. That was scary as ******** too. Who could care less about Wilson if she was going to die anyways? ... At the same time, what was stopping her from making her move in that case.
Oh yeah. Emmaline.
Sighing, she said, "Marcus can I ask you something? ... Like in confidentiality."

He tilted his head over, though his scarf was still over his eyes. "Yeah, I'm not one to go blabbing off to people. What's up?"

The fact that Marcus wasn't staring at her point blank was actually incredibly comforting. It made the entire situation less awkward, since there was no eye contact being made. Not to mention he couldn't see the bright rose attacking her cheeks at the moment.
"Is it wrong to like someone when you probably shouldn't?" she asked quietly, wary of any eavesdroppers. The second someone walked in the room, she was going to stop talking and pretend like none of this ever happened, but for now she would approach the situation. Approach with trepidation, but approach nonetheless.
Vague question was vague.
