Syd was a usual on the training ground. She was so usual that you could probably set your watch by her. You could see her crossing the field heading for the target range, her weapon already summoned at 10:00AM every morning, rain or shine.
So when someone was looking for a sparring partner, she was right there, ready and willing.

Rin was, ohhh was she ever. Rep had shunned her desire to duel and now? Now she was dangerously determined to fight someone, anyone.
Byr already summoned at her side she noticed Syd, she was distracted. Perfect.

Rin wasted no time charging up to the woman to swing Byr at her, landing a glancing blow upon her person.

Syd jerked, twisting as she was hit, her weapon raised instinctively. Her finger pulled on the trigger more from habit than anything else--
And the arrow hit the other girl point blank in the chest, hard. Oddly, though, there was a look of excitement in Syd's brown eyes. "Good morning," she said. "Good day for a spar, don't you think?"

Rin stumbled back at the blast to her chest, cackling like a mad woman as she charged forth again hacking at the woman's fear shield with Byr, "Indeed it is!"

Syd leaped back, knowing that close combat was her enemy especially in this case. But she was grinning, sensing a good spar ahead of her. "Are you sure you shouldn't be in sun, though?" she asked as she brought up her crossbow and took aim again.
Her arrow hit true again, slamming in the FEAR shield over the shoulder of Rin's weapon holding arm.

Rin laughed breathlessly, "Hell no! I'm just here to fight and fight it seems you'll give!"
Syd's arrow hit hard and true causing a ripple across Rin's fear shield - making her unable to swing Byr as intended. She missed Syd completely.

"I believe in sparring whenever I get the chance," Syd agreed. "Although you did catch me off guard. Good job," she complimented the other female. "Of course you realize, this gives me the right to do the same to you," she said, aiming Izy again and pulling the trigger.
She aimed for the shoulder again.

Rin was hit with an arrow again and it caused her swing to go wide, just barely nicking Syd's shield, "Hah! I wouldn't ask for anything less!"
She was urging the woman on. She hit and hit hard and it was quite... challenging. Exactly what she came for and she was very fond of this. It wasn't easy to keep close enough to hit and they were very much ready to keep it that way it seemed.

But before Syd could convince him, Izy lit up the tip of his next arrow and she pulled the trigger, the arrow blowing up in a blinding light before it hit the other girl, blinding her. Syd managed to look away.

That was okay, Rin didn't need to see. She smirked as she had a trick up her own sleeve. Byr gave off an eerie green glow and her fear shield was renewed to pristine.
Byr was humming contentedly in the back of her thoughts. It has been a long time. A very long time indeed.

Syd's hit landed but it was too late to deter the healing. Instead it weakened the rebounding attack as Rin charged in again attempting to get another hit in, barely knocking the fellow trainee!

"That was a very interesting ability," Syd said as she brought up her weapon again. "Did you just heal your FEAR shield?" she asked curiously, even as she pulled the trigger. She aimed at the shoulder again, ruthlessly. That axe was a danger, and she planned on fighting strategically.
