The Miss Taken Tower

General Information
As the general, jack-of-all trades division, the Mist Hunter training course is a combination of the other divisions' training challenges and also one of the more complicated. The goal of this course is to rescue the princess in the tower. Below her, you'll find yourself confronted with a number of shadowling attackers, and beyond them, a room of only slightly deadly traps. But even should you reach her location, you still need to pick the lock on the manacles holding her in place. Unskilled fiddling with the locks will prove unhealthy for both the princess and yourself. And once that's done, you need to make your way back down through the traps and shadowlings, defending the princess the whole way.

The Miss Taken Tower is one of the most challenging and frustrating courses available.

If you fail: your princess dies, and you are quite possibly KO'd. Senior hunters are observing and will make with a timely rescue as needed.

If you win: the princess will adore you for the rest of her exceedingly brief existence. Peen points for 100% health for you and the Princess, shadowlings fought, going for consecutive rescues.

Cass was very familiar with the workings of the Mist Taken Tower. After all, she'd gone up it a handful of times. However, it was the most diverse of the training grounds, and thus it was exactly what she needed to keep herself all-around up and running.

Just go with the flow was the general rule of being a mist, and she was going to stick to that.

It was easy enough to start off with, even, stepping into the room of Shadows and firing the second she stepped inside - keep them away from her before she had to use Nicodemus. She needed to stick to that idea.

On occasion, she would have to whirl around with the blade of Nicodemus to slice through some of the opposition she was pushing through, but overall it seemed she was having a rather easy time with what she was doing.

Cut down all the things! Or shoot 'em in the face! As long as she could remember to start off strong, she'd just keep up her momentum. She was like a wrecking ball - get her going and she'd destroy what needed to go down.

Once she'd reached the top of the stairs, Cass half-skipped towards the rigged floor, pausing to actually consider it when she drew too close. After all, skipping across a floor that was potentially a zone of mass death and pain was a rather bad idea to the trainee and it was only after a moment she took her first step.

The first step in question seemed to be safe enough. Which meant she could continue forward.

She took another minute to consider her next step as well, crossing her arms and seeming to evaluate it for a few moments, before she again stepped forward to cross the second tile - and even the ones after it across the way. Finally, she hopped with both feet into safe ground.

Funny how she handled the tower much easier than the other training grounds. She wouldn't complain, though. The second she did everything would go to hell.

Through another door and up another flight up steps she went - she really did feel like a prince off to rescue a real princess whenever she did this. Did everybody feel that way? Like a prince?

Some of the people she worked with probably would have been more suitable princesses, to be honest, and it seemed like one of those individuals was indeed her lovely princess. Cass took a moment to offer her 'Princess' a bow, a wide grin sweeping across her face as she did so. A little bit of play wasn't out of place, after all.

"Princess Jerry." she mused before she moved in to remove the first of his manacles. If nothing else, she was fully aware there was going to be some fun song-and-dance times on the way down the tower with him. After all, who else would be her lovely singing partner?

Though she'd confess she wasn't sure what kind of song they'd get that day. She didn't have anything stuck in her head right then, after all.

After a minute, Cass removed the other manacle as well, grinning as she took the taller man-golem's hand and, in a moment that would probably be described as 'wasting time finishing the training run', pulled him in close to do a rather strange sweeping dance across the roof. Fortunately, Princess Jerry did rather well to follow along.

Not amazingly well, but Cass herself wasn't the most graceful of dancers either. Perhaps it was something to work on for the wedding. It was still rather hard to get that thought in particular out of her head. In a month she would be at the altar and her last name would be Hasan.

Cassandra Elizabeth Norris Hasan.

Man she'd have a really long name, but there was a certain amount of excitement with the aimless humming that came with it, stopping when she and Jerry-Princess had reached the door to open it and guide him down the steps.

Crossing the floor was less exciting, she'd confess. Still, if she was going to keep up a theme of being silly through her run, she'd take it.

Even if this floor was likely to make them both explode into a pile of death and meat. Which she didn't want to do when she herself was not a golem. But living with a bit of risk was good - she just didn't want to die before her wedding. That would have been painful.

She took a sweeping step onto the floor with Princess Jerry, brushing him over a trapped tile that caused her to wince when the saw that came up cut through the back of the golem's leg. Ouch!

She definitely was glad she hadn't stepped on it, but it looked like her dear sweet Princess hadn't liked that too much either - not that she blamed Jerry. It seemed like some diving cursor of god was just tormenting the poor guy. Some other masochistic soul was just aiming to see how much he could suffer while they wrote out his fate.

She couldn't imagine living like that.

She took a moment to patch her dance partner up before she popped up and again took the lead of their little waltz across a far-too-dangerous floor of Shadowlings. She was sure Lance was catching this on camera right then too.

And she'd end up seeing how badly she danced later.

Waltz with Princess Jerry and shoot Nicodemus at the same time?

Somehow that idea didn't completely fail.

As they stepped out of the tower, Cass grinned, giving the taller Jerry-Golem one last spin before she stepped back and kissed the back of his hand like a proper prince would.

"That was a lovely dance, Princess. It seems that we have gotten you outside safely," she noted with a grin, "and we will be having someone escort you home soon." she added, with another bow, before she took her leave.

She had too much fun sometimes.
