It had been a long day for Daktari. Between wandering around lost in the lands, he was hungry as heck. His stomach growl angrily in agreement and usually he was in good spirits, but even cheerfulness had limits. This was his; yeah this was his at the moment. Staring off in the distances moodily he thought of what had occurred earlier on. Broken tree branch and then falling, becoming lost, hungry, and tired. “I’m entitled to a half-glass empty attitude once in a while.” He sighed and sat down just to rest his paws. This looked like a good spot, plenty of shade and soft grass that made him want to take a nap.
“I can be your hero, baby~ I can kiss away the pain.” Kiros yodeled as he ambled on down the road with a sway of lithe muscles and grace. “I would stand by you forever. You can take my breath away~” Today had been a great day and it was only getting better. His stomach was full and no one had knocked him off a tree yet; always a good thing in his opinion. Falling tended to hurt something fierce if one landed wrong as one of his friends had done earlier on this week. Nasty snap of the bone… had to see a healer. Just thinking about it gave Kiros the willies.
“Zzzz…*snort* … huhhuh?” Daktari was slow to wake, apparently had dosed off without realizing it. He felt a light tickle coming from the area of his nose and with somewhat heavy lidded eyes he blinked to clear the fuzziness away. “’fly?” Dozily he took in the pink pretty butterfly that was currently making itself comfortable on part of his body. Sadly when he tried to stay still, it—his body—did the opposite therefore causing the butterfly to fly away. “Awww, don’t go.” He pouted still half asleep.
Kiros hopped on the branch nearest to him with a mighty push from his back legs, “New record!” He cheered out merrily; it was the highest jump he made yet. “The crowd goes wild~ Raaaa~” He did a little dance on the branch while still keeping balance. “Now that that is done~ let’s see if I can make this jump.” He wiggled his butt and judged the distance. It looked far… from another point of view it looked impossibly dangerous but Kiros was one to ignore such things and try the impossible. He narrowed his eyes in concentration and then after a few breathless minutes leaped. “Almost, almost, almost ther-” He muttered under his breath before beginning to flail in the attempt to each out and grasp the branch inches from his claws. It seemed everything that had slowed down was now speeding up and then he was dropping.
A squawk form above made Daktari look up just in time to see a huge rainbow like blob falling in the spot he current was lying. Quick, for a slow lion such as himself, he moved or rolled over so the blob would land on the ground and not himself. Daktari blinked when the blob let out a loud ‘umph’ as it landed on paws. Oh a leopard. “Y’all alright?” He asked softly, politely. “You took quite a fallin’.”

Kiros landed painfully but gracefully onto his paws, it felt like he had been zapped and stood stunned for a few minutes. He had missed it… dang. A sound broke him from the disappointment. A big fluffy…pink lion was laying/sitting up. The indent in the grass indicated the other male had rolled over just in time. “Uh… yeah. I was trying to climb.” He sighed. “It didn’t work, shit.” He watched fascinated somewhat and with raised eyebrows as a blush came on the other males face. “Dude, why you blushing?” He was kinda uncomfortable with the reaction.
“Well,” Daktari tried to stop shook himself. “I don’t like… to hear swearing. It flusters me really and it is not polite.” He finished lamely while looking around wondering if he should move on before it could get nasty. Daktari wasn’t one that enjoyed violence; mindless or otherwise. He was a gentle soul. “I was just restin’ here a bit anyways before headin’ off.” He watched as an amused smile crossed the leopards face before it shrugged and shook his paws.
Ah, it was clearer now. Things almost got uncomfortable for him anyways. “Oh I see, I thought-” He paused awkwardly flickering his tail. “Well I thought something opposite of what actually was so yeah… Resting huh?” He looked around trying to find something to say. “Sure looks comfortable enough, though I usually sleep in trees. Now that is fun and dangerous~” Kiros was getting bored… he looked up debating to try climbing again or not. “Naw you don’t have to leave. I’m heading out again possibly for more climbing… practice makes perfect and all that.”
Huh, it would seem I made the other male uncomfortable from his previous action. He wanted to laugh and stick out his tongue but decided against it. “Ah I see alright then.” He flopped down to get relaxed once again in the soft grass not knowing what else to do. “See ya~” He closed his eyes still aware of the other male. “Have fun climbin’ and all that. Don’t get dead.” He words were slurring as slumber began to set in and he shifted to a better position; one that was familiar to him since cub hood.
Kiros blinked his eyes at the other male’s attitude before shaking his head bewildered. “Okay.” -The ‘whatever’ was implied with the use of his tone of voice. “Well…” He shrugged and turned away not seeing any point of saying goodbye as the other male was ‘sleeping’. Looking back once more he chuckled at the sight behind him. The other male was now on his back paws in the air and then he began to climb the old thick trunk of the tree. Lions he thought with an eye roll before bounding off for more tree climbing.
